Terrible service, non-existing communication, installations mistakes, .... It's been almost a year…read moreand my blinds are still not done : after a badly done installation, they took my blinds and told me they would replace them with the correct ones. They told me next week = I waited 1 month, kept calling, they told me on the phone they would reach back and give me an update = nothing. Every time I have to call them back just for them to avoid the situation and blatantly lie in response. Their technician came back 5 times, 5 TIMES without the blinds or with the wrong ones because of wrong communication with their boss. And because they make you pay in advance, they know they have no real obligation to solve the problem in a timely manner. This is beyond incompetency, they behave like absolute crooks and total baboons. Unless you want your blinds to be done after waiting for half a century, avoid them at all cost.

I advised them to bring chem fixings as the wall plugs previously used were obviously insufficient for the task. I was advised any additional parts if required would be extra. They then insisted I pay in advance- when I asked why they said they had problem collecting payment from clients. While not happy I thought the $150 was a fair price so I paid. The following week one tradesman arrived -had no idea what the task was- after investigation he agreed a chem fixing was required - I offered him one as I had some in my garage but he said he would prefer to get his own. He then left and did not return. After a week I called Empire to see what was happening and they then advise the price would now be $650.00 for the job. A competent installer with an off- sider could do this job in 30 minutes (at the most) My advice is to NOT engage this Company under any circumstance. Barry H

We're talking 8-to-10 times the installed dollar value - may as well be up front about it. So why are they still singly the out-and-out best addition we've made to our house? Fully retractable, they open and close over any window or door, regardless of its opening mechanism. Left open, their matching frames disappear into the window or door frame - you'd never know they were there. Open the window or door, though, pull over the screen to its magnetic closing catch and you have full insect protection (plus, in the case of our typical Sydney bushland setting, some confidence that we're not going to find a kookaburra or a possum has inadvertently joined us on the inside!)

We called to ask for support and were told that the operator of Sth Qld had sadly died and our warranty had died with him. However Anthony promised to get it fixed for us in January this year as he confirmed we were sold a prototype (which we paid around $2000 for) AWESOME JOB PHANTOM SCREENS!!! Now despite numerous requests we are ignored by Briana whilst our young children are often left with mossie bites all over their bodies the one thing these screens were meant to reduce. For the sake of your own sanity and your wallet AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs!

I work in a clothing store and always recommend that my customers head to Spotlight for supplies if they plan on taking up a hem or changing some buttons around. Their home décor section is probably the best part. There are some bargain rugs.

If one is feeling courageous enough to visit in person it is only to find that the staff members are not the slightest bit interested in your enquiries - and that is only if you can find a staff member to ask!! Poorly stocked and tacky !! I visit the North West Coast of Tasmania at least twice a year and the Spotlight store in Burnie is always visited once or twice during my stay and it is the flip side of the Birkenhead store and where they should be sending all its employees for training!!!
