What an amazing learning environment! Our daughter has been a student at Cleveland Montessori for…read morethe past four years. She started in the primary program, completed that three-year learning cycle, and is now in the elementary program as a 1st grader. Cleveland Montessori stays true to the Montessori method outlined by Dr. Montessori, and in these turbulent times, especially in the public education and curriculum space, it is comforting to know that my daughter is learning from the time-tested materials. The other thing that is important to me about raising children in our culture is that the school is screen-free. The children have a warm, analog space to love to learn for a lifetime. Lastly, it has to be noted that the school is housed in a century-old building with character, nestled in historic Little Italy blocks away from University Circle, and they walk (in all weather) to a fabulous playground in the neighborhood! All in all, a very, very good choice for building an amazing foundation for life.

Do not send your child here unless you absolutely hate them. Sure, they will be taught how to…read morerecite christian doctrine that they don't know the meaning of, but that's the best part. At this school your child will be constantly gossiped about by staff, be put down day after day by staff because they may not like them for that one thing they said in 3rd grade, punished for small things like leaning a little too far back in their chair, and much more. You have probably guessed it but in case you haven't I am a former student. Here are the huge flaws this school has that they have yet to fix. -I have first hand seen many students and peers have emotional breakdowns over teachers lack of knowledge in how to speak to children. (I.E. students being called disgusting and the worse students they have ever had.) Now, you may think the students of All Saints must really be trouble but I can assure you at my many years of attending All Saints I have never seen a physical fight (or heard of such), extreme outbursts from students (I wish I could say the same for the teachers), screaming or even loud curse words or inappropriate/sexual topics, and once again much more. -Dress code at All Saints is not only ridiculous but is enforced for the wrong reasons. A teacher on one specific occasion has told the girls in a certain 8th grade class that short shorts would distract the male teachers. I do not believe the 2 male teachers I have experienced here would look at young girls like this, however it is beyond inappropriate to suggest authority figures in any place would do such a thing. I have also seen male students wear tank tops with large arm holes so you could see their whole chest and not be reprimanded. -Once a student was denied to use the restroom (this teacher is notorious for this). After pleading with the teacher and sharing private details on why they needed to go, this teacher repeatedly told this student they couldn't go. There was no reason (that I know of) that they shouldn't have been able to go, we were watching a video during this class. After a while of this student asking to go this teacher brought in another teacher and barely let them go. They then preceded to make rude comments about that student and one other. -I once was sitting in the cafeteria and water fell from the ceiling. This school also has an ant problem I have seen countless students have an ant infested lunches after their lunch was in a certain classroom. All Saints also doesn't have air conditioning and it never will. No matter how many times they tell you your walk a thon donations are going to cooling the school it isn't. The building is too old to put in an air conditioning system and window units would constantly mess with the electricity (I know this because a teacher at this school, who would know these types of questions has told me this) -In one class certian students were asked to stand in front of the class and compare skin color. This was because we were reading a book about racism and oppression of black people. I think that is was totally inappropriate to ask kids to do this in front of everyone without them volunteering. I have endless horrible stories about this place. It took a very large toll on my mental health. I urge you to not send your child here. It isn't worth the thousands of dollars. I seriously hope staff from All Saints reads this and can start improving majorly.
