Mikki my dog. Her clay paw print is amazing.

It's hard to even write this but I feel the need to. All Paws was able to get us in last minute on the same morning I called inquiring about pricing. Chris who helped us there was so nice and understand during one of the worst days of our lives. The next day her ashes were already ready for pick up. We did the VIP private cremation and received a clay paw print with our package. It is amazing, we absolutely love it. Pricing is also reasonable compared to other places. Thank you so much to everyone at All Paws, we miss our Mikki so much but your team made this process a little easier for us.

This is so disheartening. I was promised a beautiful clay paw print, and this isn't that.

I want so badly to give this place more than 2 stars, I really do. I hate giving bad reviews anywhere, and considering that this review is showing up as the only review for All Paws despite there are already several other reviews, I feel even worse, but I'm disappointed and this needs to be said. I recently used All Paws after my dog, Chocolate, passed. He was diagnosed with cancer, and rather than prolong his pain, we opted to put him down instead. All Paws is trusted by our family vet, so when our dog passed, his body was picked up by them. Our family vet gave us an estimate for All Paws' cremation services, both partial and individual cremation as well as the price for a beautiful clay mold with our dog's paw print. I was told I would receive his remains and the paw print on a later date. Today, less than two weeks later (great turn around time as I was estimated a full two weeks), I picked up his remains and the print from our family vet. His remains and the print were placed in a nice box decorated with little paw prints. Included was a certificate with his cremation information. Overall, the presentation of the remains really made the situation less uncomfortable. It was already overwhelming to have to go pick up Chocolate's remains after work, and to avoid looking at a really harsh container of cremains would have made the ride home even worse. What really brings down the number of stars in this review is the quality of the paw print. The certificate and the packaging was nicely presented, but the paw print made me livid. I was told the print would be a beautiful keepsake, and instead looks very rushed and sad. His toes (digital pads) are imprinted at the center of the circular clay mold and the center (metacarpal) pad is hanging off the edge, which looks like they had to make two attempts to get his paw print completely on there. I also found several white hairs lingering in the bag. I've spent some time reading previous reviews about this place and most of them seem very good. Those people and the other anonymous people posting pictures of their pets' paw prints seem so pleased, but I just feel ripped off and hurt. This makes me worry about the amount of respect paid to my dog. Yes, he may have just been a dog, but he was a beloved family member and deserved to be treated with the respect the All Paws website claims to give. tl;dr - The All Paws people seem like good people trying to consider people's feelings, but man, did I get the short end of the stick here

I never write reviews, but this one needed to happen. If some of these issues happened to me,…read morechances are it has happened to others. There is much more to this, but this is the summary of my experience with "compassionate" care. Just an overall horrible experience and horrible business transaction. We got off to a good start with this company. Up unto dropping our dog off to go through the aquamation everything went well. Our requests were to get our blankets back (we made this very clear), which were going to go in our bed with my wife and I. We wanted her remains put into the same urn as her brother's remains which we also brought in. We wanted both names on the name plate for the urn. Our requests could not have been any clearer. We were guaranteed our requests would be met. Once they got our money everything went completely downhill. Numerous unanswered texts, phone calls, and voicemails to check status and make sure everything was ok. Something seemed off. It was supposed to take a week from what Bryan said. Took almost 3 weeks to get the remains back. During this time, I had asked about our blankets we wanted back. Bryan informed us these blankets could have been thrown away, donated, or something. He said his commercial laundering company could have them, and he would investigate it. No call back no update. He would not give out the name of this commercial laundry company to me, I would of gone there myself to look for these. Confronted him on that. Said they would bring them back the following week and he would call, which he never did. Again. In picking up our remains and rather upset about the blankets I look over and there is just one dogs name on the plate, remember I asked for both dog names on the plate. I called him out on this, and he tried to tell me both names are on the urn... on the bottom on a sticker tag which also had our address/information on it. He tried to pass this off as that's what I asked for. It is clearly not names on the plate, and he knows this, but still tried to pass it off anyways. This is also the same tag that's on the envelope they give you, with your address on it. My wife and I had to order our own plate. He kept dragging me along in the blanket situation as if he was trying to hide something and knew it. Also, we did not get our other urn back, so they are likely using our other dog's urn for their other customers. I didn't even think of this at the time as I was so heated about everything. The one thing that did happen we asked for was both bags of remains were in the same urn. Other than that, this whole process was as far as a business transaction went was a disaster. No accountability, no apology, crappy communication, most important requests to the customer not met, making excuses, no effort to make any bit of this right. He had said that he does donate and could have donated these blankets to Young At Heart, which is a senior dog adoption center in the area. In speaking with the lady who works there, they said they had never gotten any donations from Bryan or "Compassionate" Care, nor would they take blanket donations from a cremation center for a number of reasons. So, Bryan straight up lied about that all together. Who does that? Seriously. Absolutely pathetic to say the least. All of this was a great example of how not to treat customers. An even better example of how not to do business and how not to handle a big mess up on their behalf. We will not be returning to "compassionate" care, which is unfortunate because we did like the process of the aquamation. I have plenty more to say, but this is the gist of it. Bryan was absolutely horrible to deal with after the money was paid. This was supposed to be a big bittersweet closure to moving on from 2 dogs I had for 16 plus years, and these people stained that closure. They didn't follow through with anything to make it right. I would give a 0 if I could.

Luckily they had availability within an hour to take my doggie. The signage now shows this as Cobb & Co. There was plenty of parking and I was able to get checked in quickly. The exam didn't take too long and the vet took the time to explain everything to me. I went home amazed that I went from panicked to perfectly calm thanks to how they handled everything. Prices for the exam and the medications were perfectly reasonable and I've now told 4 other friends to check them out. I will be bringing both my dogs here from now on!

My wife and I recently moved to the area in Late August. We own two cats, Molly, age 12 and…read moreCarlton, age 11. we were looking for a Vet in the area who was established and well-known. We were referred by a friend to Tri City Animal Hospital ion Elgin. Although our home is in Algonquin we found that Tri City was not that far and easy to get to. Molly, the older cat had some problems with her fur matting (she is a long hair) and had been pulling the matted fur out in clumps. She also needed her yearly rabies shot. So we made an appointment for Sept 11th to get her checked out. On that Date she was given the rabies shot and had the mattes fur removed. She was then given a blood test to look for any issues. I was told once they received the results back from the lab they would call me. Probably a Day or two. So far- so good. Now we made an appointment for them to see our other cat, Carlton. Carlton had been a rescue cat that my wife adopted and is her special little friend. They are very close. However, recently, Carlton had been acting lethargic and was losing weight. He was also drinking HUGE amounts of water constantly and missing his litter box. So we needed to get him checked out as well as to get him his rabies shot. We took him in to Tri City on September 16th at which point I still had not received a phone call, email or text from them concerning the results of Molly's tests. I assumed that a lack of a call could be interpreted as everything was well with her. And she was back to acting normally anyway. So I didn't raise a ruckus at this time. Our primary concern was Carlton who seemed to be in declining health. So on Sept 16th we brought Carlton to Tri City and a girl came out to our car and took our information and Carlton's History. They examined him and gave him his rabies shot. He was found to be severely dehydrated and had sores inside of his mouth. To them this indicated a possible thyroid and/or kidney problem. They took blood and urine samples and sent them to the lab and, again, promised to call us with the results. At this time they also rehydrated Carlton before releasing him to us. This was on Wednesday the 16th. we heard nothing from them on the 17th. On the morning of the 19th a Doctor from Tri City called my wife at work at a time when she couldn't talk and blurted out that the cat had 3rd stage kidney disease and hyperthyroidism and was in bad shape. My wife was extremely upset at being told this in such an abrupt and matter-of -fact manner and told them she couldn't talk as she was at work and she'd call them after work. So all Day long she was upset and distracted from her work by this call. Once she got home she called them back while was at her side. At this point she got a different Doctor who told her that all of their files were mixed up that had come from the lab and they didn't know which lab results belonged to which animal. He admitted to the screw-up which at various times during the conversation was blamed on "some other Doctor" because he is not there every Day or "the lab" or just somebody that works at the animal hospital. My wife was now crying so I took the phone and told him I didn't like the way that they had given my wife the bad news that morning when she had been at work and had told them she couldn't talk. Also that the result of that phone call she had been in a emotional wreck all Day- AND to NOW be told that they didn't even know which test belonged to which animal!!! And then I mentioned that I had never even heard the results of Molly's tests a week earlier. Well he fumbled around and eventually found those results, again blaming the lack of a call on somebody else. So now we were back at square one. We had to bring Carlton back in on Monday the 21st to go through the tests all over again. Over the weekend Carlton grew more lethargic but didn't seem to be in any pain. We duly brought him back in for our appointment at noon. They didn't see us until after 12:30 but that is a minor complaint. They drew blood but were unable to obtain a urine sample. They also rehydrated him again and told us that the samples would go to the lab that afternoon we should hear from them the next Day (Tuesday). We didn't hear from them on Tuesday. We didn't hear from them on Wednesday nor Thursday. At this point it really didn't matter because Carlton died late Tuesday Night, cradled in my wife's arms. On Friday September 25th my wife got a call from Tri City. The Doctor on the Line told my wife that results of the test showed that the cat was in very bad shape. My wife then told her the sad news that the cat had passed away on Tuesday Night. At this point the Doctor told her that it was to be expected because of it's condition and age (the cat was only 11- hardly old). Incompetence coupled with lack of empathy was our experience there and we won't be back.

We were referred to Thrive last fall because our golden retriever was building a lot of fluid…read moreprimarily in his abdomen and chest but was active and had no other symptoms. Thrive performed several tests including an echocardiogram and a CT scan. They couldn't find anything, so they concluded he probably had mesothelioma which is fatal. We knew mesothelioma was extremely rare and usually presented with a cough and fatigue. It would have also been especially unusual because he had never been exposed to asbestos. When we said we were confused because he had no cough or other symptoms that would point to that diagnosis, Thrive said that "goldens are like that"--meaning they don't tell us when they're sick. When we asked them what we should do, they told us to "just let him be a dog." The clear message was that he was dying and we should just make the most of our time with him. We then took him back to our regular vet and spent thousands over the next few months trying to treat him based on what Thrive said. When he still didn't start coughing or showing any new symptoms we took him to the University of Wisconsin where they did a repeat echocardiogram and immediately diagnosed him with a fully treatable heart condition. Today he is completely cured. He never had mesothelioma. We came way too close to euthanizing our dog based on what Thrive said. We ultimately spent thousands treating a condition he didn't have and put our beloved dog through so much that wasn't necessary. The right thing for Thrive to do would have been to recommend other places to go for additional diagnostic testing; we certainly would have investigated other options if we thought we had any. We wrote a letter to Thrive recently explaining our disappointment that they didn't find his condition on the echocardiogram and instead defaulted to a fatal rare condition, but their management hasn't responded. Thrive is part of a group of nearly 400 vet clinics owned by a private equity firm. In reading the PE's website content we got the impression that profitability is the priority. Your mileage may vary, but our experience was unnecessarily expensive and very nearly tragic. Had Thrive management bothered to respond they might get another star.
