The building is relatively small (but not cramped) and completely updated to look like a modern, inviting home. The feeling of home is echoed in the friendliness of each and every staff member. All of them are polite, professional, and friendly. Considering a dentist's office is the LAST place you want to be they definitely go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Both doctor and tech were open about each step without being intimidating. They are genuinely concerned for your comfort and conduct themselves effectively without being heavy handed. Booking an appointment is great. They send email confirmations with calendar entries for convenience. Rescheduling is a breeze. After leaving from a tooth extraction I was unexpectedly given a "gift from the tooth fairy" which included a custom thank you card and a gift certificate for a treat. The finishing touches were amazing on what was already a pleasant visit. Could not recommend them enough.

My final test is whether or not Dr. Blair makes referrals to other very good dentists. I need restorative work so she referred me to a periodontist. I am impressed. She sent me to a good one. If she makes good referrals my trust in her skyrockets. There is a ramp out front and the restroom is handicapped accessible. Looks to be wide enough for a wheelchair user too. I had a miserable experience with the first dentist I found when I moved to this part of town. I am so glad I now have a dentist who I can send friends and family to. No hesitation at all.

That one-hour drive has been 100% worth it ever since! They've handled several complex dental issues for me that other dentists struggled with--especially when it came to achieving outstanding cosmetic results. The work is always precise, natural-looking, and done with genuine care for both function and appearance. I've never felt rushed or like just another patient; they truly listen and tailor everything to what works best for me. The entire team is exceptional. Dr. Rosen is incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and has a calm, reassuring manner that puts you at ease. Amanda and Jeanie are absolute standouts--warm, attentive, and so good at what they do. The front office staff is equally friendly and efficient; they make scheduling and check-ins a breeze. Despite the distance, I'll keep coming back because Wauwatosa Dental Arts simply offers the best dental experience out there. If you're looking for top-tier care, especially for cosmetic or challenging cases, this is the place. Highly recommend--5 stars aren't enough! The hygienists have all been replaced and the good ones left are leaving left and right. The hygienist I saw 6 months ago is no longer there, what does that say? Today I had an appointment at 8am, and silly me I had it in my calendar for 8:45. My fault, yes. I'm a busy woman, and made a mistake. I received a call that they are charging my account $50 for a "no show" and that they will no longer provide care to me... Over ONE late appointment! I asked if I'd ever signed a document acknowledging the $50 policy and was told that I hadn't and that the new policy went into effect about a year ago. They are sending a final bill and refuse to provide my medical records to another office until the balance is paid. This doesn't seem legal yet alone I'm shocked that this is how they treat their patients. I'm just at a loss for words and respect for this practice and the new doctors that are running it into the ground. The previous doctor was incredible and so kind. This is so unfortunate. Off to find a new dentist and you should too! Don't get caught off guard like I did.

It is absolutely astounding that - in July 2023 - a business could be as ridiculous as this. Everyone with a brain knows that COV is about the same as a cold, that *even according to the CDC* cloth masks due nothing to stop the spread of respiratory viruses, that *even according to the CDC* the "vaccines" do not stop transmission, and that, frankly, they are next to useless. That is part of why *according to the CDC* only 17% of Americans, as of this writing, are "fully-vaccinated" with the latest boosters. I had not seen a sign like this - mandating "masks" - *anywhere* in the area, even at my doctor's office (they were holdouts), for close to a year. Wisconsin Smiles, if you wish to be this uneducated, unscientific, and insulting to your customers, that's of course your right, but do be aware that it will cost you business. My family has…read morebeen very happy with Elmbrook Family Dental for 20+ years, starting when Dr. Brunner was just a kid! I recently completed a tooth implant process that took several months (remove 40-year old crown, bone graft, wait for that to heal, implant post, wait for that to heal, implant!). The whole process was about as painless as it could possibly be. One of the things I like best about Elmbrook Family Dental is that they explain things clearly -- throughout the process Dr. Plecas explained each step, what the options were, what he thought the best option would be, and why. Knowing about the bone graft was especially important to me, and seeing what the part of the implant would be and how it all went together was cool. I was initially concerned because my son's wedding was coming up, and I didn't want to have a big hole in my mouth for pictures. Dr. Plecas discussed options with me -- the full process wouldn't be complete before the wedding. If I wanted, we could have gotten a temporary fake tooth there, but he thought I should wait and see how it looked. Once the tooth was removed I found that the space wasn't very noticeable at all. I'm very glad that I didn't spend the extra money on a temporary tooth! It feels like we know everyone there - we've been there for years, and at times we had six family members going. My older kids only stopped going there when they totally left the area; while they were in college out of state they still went to Elmbrook Family Dental, scheduling appointments around their breaks. One of the other things I like about Elmbrook Family Dental is that they keep up with processes, technology, and materials.

It's a hard sell for TMJ services with every appointment. Cost for TMJ services: Assessment $650 and treatment $5400-6500 (services weren't clarified) with payment required upfront. When I asked what patients do when they can't afford this treatment, he became defensive and explained that he couldn't provide services for free (which I wouldn't expect). I found a local (TMJ & Orofacial Pain Treatment Center) doctor who is excellent, fitted me with a night guard for under $200, and that has very clear patient costs for services after insurance, and charges much less overall.

I visited Wisconsin Smiles for a consultation about composite bonding. From the moment I booked the…read moreappointment, I explained that bonding - not veneers - was the treatment I was interested in. I wanted to address two chipped teeth and create more symmetry in my smile, and bonding seemed like a great fit because it's less invasive and more reversible. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful from scheduling through the appointment; however, the consultation itself left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. Dr. Schmidt spent the majority of the appointment advocating for veneers, despite my repeated explanations that I understood the differences but was still interested in composite bonding. Rather than acknowledging what I wanted, he concluded the consultation by saying they would prepare a quote for veneers and mentioned that financing was available. When I reiterated - yet again - that I was more interested in composite bonding, he appeared frustrated and said, "Well, we don't offer that service, because this is a cosmetic dentist." If composite bonding isn't offered, it should not be advertised on their website, nor should patients be allowed to book consultations for it. The impression I was left with is that bonding is a service they offer, but it was deliberately dismissed in an effort to steer me toward veneers. When I mentioned that I booked the appointment specifically because composite bonding is listed on their website, he didn't have a meaningful response. Ultimately, the quote I was given was only for veneers on TWO teeth, ignoring my clearly stated interest in a more comprehensive smile makeover. The entire experience was disappointing, uncomfortable, and a waste of my time - like being invited to a "free lunch" that turns into a timeshare presentation. All in all, however, if you're looking for a cosmetic consultation where you are respected and listened to, I'd recommend going elsewhere.
