I retired after being a law professor for forty years In Houston. I am a well respected resident of THE WOODLANDS having resided here since 1985 and have been, and still am, involved in the community. My point is that this review is absolutely honest. My story is simple. I purchased the best Starkey hearing aid from another provider. I wasn't very satisfied with the service, so I contacted Clarity Hearing. I wanted to get a new hearing test and my hearing aid programmed accordingly. I was charged $260 for (one hearing aid) this service which took about one hour. My other ear has an implant and I don't need one for that ear. I thought this was a little expensive, but understand they were not making any money that they would had I bought from them originally. After a week, I realized that my hearing was not as good as my three year old Phonak. I just called them, explained the issue, and was promptly told it would cost me another $130 to fix what should have been done originally. This is a TOTAL RIPOFF. They are MANY PROFESSIONAL HEARING SPECIALISTS IN THIS AREA. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Go somewhere else. REPLY TO CLARITY. For the reader, you need to read their reply. You are correct that professionals bill for their time. But, lawyers, doctors, cannot ethically bill you for the same service. I paid you to program the best hearing aid that Starkey produces. That model is their EDGE AI 24. You did program it, but I cannot hear as well as I did with my older Phonak. What does that mean? Either you did not properly program it or Phonak makes a better product. Tell me which is the answer.

From 43 to 47 I was able to cope by sitting closer in meetings, concentrating on the speaker, and watching lips to supplement words I was missing. No one outside my family could tell that I was having trouble, but I was expending a lot of energy at work without even realizing it. Making the choice to start wearing hearing aids was both tough and easy. Tough because I'm young, what would people think when they saw? - would they look at me differently or doubt my professional ability? I tossed the headphones and now do everything through my aids. I chose a clear color and when folks ask I say I've got new Bluetooth headphones. I've learned to switch between devices and maximize the functionality. Plus, I can hear live conversations with more clarity fulfilling the baseline need for getting these devices in the first place. Dr. Patel has been incredible during this impactful time. I would absolutely recommend her to lead others through their own search. For those who think you are too young, jump in and make these new devices not only work for you but also enhance your hearing options. I got more from our therapy sessions than from any other session I've ever had. He truly exudes compassion, empathy, care, and kindness. He is an active participant in the session, not just an observer, nodding and taking notes. He wants you to learn and grow and really get something out of therapy.
