Fortunately I've gotten in and out of previous homes before having to tackle this but now, the time has come. After talking to several companies and reviewing proposals, I chose Smart Roofing Systems. Smart has done many homes in my neighborhood and everyone had good things to say about them. My experience was no exception. One difference I noticed about Smart vs. other companies is that instead of having a huge dumpster placed in your driveway, they used an open trailer on wheels allowing for easy removal of the debris each day. I also liked the fact that this left no marks on the asphalt driveway like some heavy dumpster can do. The crews put in extremely long days and did an amazing clean up. When you tear down a roof, shingles, nails, etc. go everywhere. The job site remained neat and the daily and final clean up was superb. Smart was extremely easy to do business with. Great, responsive communications and follow up. I tend to ask a lot of questions especially given the costs involved. Never was I left hanging. I highly recommend Smart Roofing Systems.

Well fellow homeowners, our roof has been replaced in less than 8 hours?What is most amazing is that it was 100 degrees today in SW Michigan? What literally perfect hard workers and team removing our old roof and a professional and beautiful replacement in this 100 degree combined hot and humid day at our home in Vicksburg Michigan! I spoke in the Yelp chat with questions to the owner Richard Paige in Rockford, MI., who certainly knew all the questions he answered without hesitation and it revealed his knowledge of all the aspects we needed to know! We could not have been more impressed, and we made the decision to have our roof replaced in the very next week he was able to fit us into! A week ago our new premium was due and having our initial roof replaced today, we were able to obtain a credit of $617! Ask your agent about this because it was apparent our roof was old enough that it was raising the cost of our annual premium! We never knew that, but we must also honestly inform all homeowners that insurance companies are very concerned about possible claims because of aging roofs, which seemed fairly obvious, but it "woke us up" when faced with a 50% increase in the past 2 years? Thankfully our agent was definitely helpful and on our side in advising us we could save so much by spending a very reasonable amount with Smart Roofing out of Rockford who replied to me on the YELP APP almost immediately and the rest was history! Worst experience ever! We had Greenfit Homes put in 2 exterior doors. They finished up on Oct.19th,…read morewe paid the same day, even we were not happy with the front door, it wasn't aligning with the frame, the latch barely caught the strikeplate and it was leaking air. Leo blamed it on our old house. Later that day we discovered a crack in the frame of the back door, called them, Brandi promised they would come back out on Friday. We waited all day, nobody came. Then they didn't respond to calls or emails, so 2 weeks later we got BBB involved. Since then they made several appointments with us and never showed up. By the end of december they told us they got a replacement door from Jeld Wen and somebody comes on dec 26th or 27th to do the work. Nobody showed up, again, and an automated email from Greenfit told us they are on vacation until january 3rd. Finally on january 9th they sent a subcontactor out to fix the mess, but Greenfit didn't bring the replacement door out, because they can't get into their trailer......one excuse after the other! Now they are back to not answering calls and emails, so frustrating. We also discovered that them experts on insulation cut corners and didn't put any insulation into the doorframe!

TLDR: I wish I had never used Premier Roofing. Nate lied to get my business and communication was…read morepathetic. We bought a home in July 2025 with some known roofing issues. Nate came out to give us a quote, and quickly expanded the scope of what they would "need" to do. The quote was separated into two sections, as per conversation with Nate: (1) need to do before winter to stop leaking and limit damage already incurred, and (2) improvements that we could make in the spring. We agreed to part #1 in October, to include work on the flashing around our chimney, the single most important piece of the work required. Over a month went by and I heard nothing until the third time I reached out for an update, at which point I was assured the work had been done - no photos, no notice they were on my property, the only evidence that they'd been on my property was pieces of scaffolding they left behind in my yard. In January, on my first trip to the home since work had been "done", I was able to see very obviously from the ground the work had not been completed as described. I emailed with photo evidence of internal water damage and flashing clearly protruding, completely unconnected to the chimney. I did not hear back for over a month. When they finally got back to me, they claimed the flashing - the single most important part of the work that I was repeatedly assured would be part of the work completed - was not, in fact, included the $4,000 bill. They provided (finally) photos of other work that had been done. After multiple days of back and forth, I was offered $200 off to apparently make up for being lied to and the internal damage done to my house for them not doing the work they swore up and down they'd do before the winter set in. We worked with Dana who during this part was great. The workers who came to do the actual work were great and worked so hard. They worked on a Saturday. There was some challenges in communicating about finishing the project. The screen door was left untouched. We were told that Premier would be in touch and they were the next week. We were told that they were unsure why the door was not put on. Dana came out and asked for payment which we honored however in hindsight we should have asked to wait to pay the balanced as the work was not completed. We wonder if we had done this if Premier might have worked harder to complete our project!? We received the run around for weeks. Someone came out to put the new door on and found the door missing parts and a part broken. Then it was several more weeks before it was finished all and all from the last day of work until it was completed on 1/9/25. It was nearly eight weeks to complete the project. We were not fully informed of the final time someone came out. Still then it was discovered that there was more work to be done. Again, the quality of work was great. The communication and taking full responsibility was very much lacking. We asked for a new door as that was what we paid for and were given a response about if a part was missing on a car we would not recieve a new car. However, we paid for the new door. Patti D
