Amazing vet clinic…read more Earlier this year, a kitten we were fostering was suddenly gravely sick, and we were frantic to find a clinic to see her for emergency treatment. We were without a primary vet, ours had had to close, and none where was able to take new patients due to the mess that the last two years have been. Both the VCA and emergency clinic in Albany said a 4-6 hour wait. They said to rush the little baby out, and met us at the door to run her back to a vet. They saved her life, and were so incredibly caring the whole time. On an off chance, my boyfriend happened to ask if they were able to take new patients, as they've been my dream vet for years. They said yes, and I about jumped out of my skin. We got put on the list, it was a couple month wait, it was worth it. We had our first appointments for our personal pets this week, two young male cats who have never been able to go to a vet before, due to all the craziness. One of my boys has severe anxiety, and we weren't able to bring him in. The other has good old covid social anxiety, having been born during the pandemic, he's anxious around new people. The tech and vet were both amazing with him. And answered my entirely too many questions. Then, the vet helped make a plan for my super anxious boy to be able to receive care. She was amazingly understanding about his mental health needs, and I about cried. I was so concerned/convinced that I was going to be met with judgement. Considering that my poor boys haven't been provided medical care. And that the one has such bad mental health issues. But, no, she was just ready to provide different options, and genuinelly wanted to provide care and support for him. The people actually care about our pets. They actually care about helping us to help our babies. Even with the insane number of clients they see. They all cared. The wait to see them was nothing. Finally finding a good vet again is such a good feeling for pet parents. I can't explain enough how grateful I am.

Been taking my dog here for a while now. We did his dental, and 2 weeks after he developed a lump…read moreby his anus. He also had one on his back. Due to proximity and possible complications from growth, we decided to remove both lumps. Anal incision healed up no issues. Back took a bit longer, opened slightly, at which time i sent pictures to the vet who said to put neosporin on it. It finally healed. Not a week after that, he started going downhill, lethargic, no interest in food or treats or play, so I took him back. OF COURSE, I see a different vet, who examines him and finds his lymph nodes are inflamed, so wants to take a sample to rule out Lymphoma. Will not even discuss the possibility that his back incision could be infected (she said it would be localized at the site..) They take Joe back, take their sample, bring Joe back to the exam room, where we were left for 1.5 hrs, no water, no check on us, nothing, before the vet came back and said she messed up and needs to repeat the test. Same drill again only when they brought him back to the room the 2nd time he was very stressed and wanted out. After another hour, dog becoming more stressed as am I, I decided we would leave. Went out and said we were leaving and I wanted to pay my bill. After some back and forth they finally closed out my bill and I left only for my dog to explode with diarrhea and start puking in the field right outside.(stress) A vet tech or asst walked out as this was happening and I said thanks a lot he is really sick. she ignored me. Vet called on my home to apologize for being insensitive about a very serious diagnosis and the effect of leaving us in the tiny room for 3 hours. Labs were sent in and came back NOT lymphoma thank goodness..but what happens next is the kicker. I get the results left on a VM from the vet who says call me this week with any questions, I am prescribing antibiotics to fight infection. The next morning, the clinic told me she wouldn't be in until friday. The clinic is texting and emailing saying medication is ready for pick up so I email and ask that it be sent to Walmart in Salem, Ronda says sure we can do that. Not 10 minutes later, she calls and says "We will not release this prescription until the balance is paid on your account" #1 I stopped at the desk Monday before I left in anger to pay. I have also spent over 3k in 1 month here, as well as I have a card on file with them. So my sick dog getting his medication was also not as important as them getting their petty balance which they could've had Monday if there was any competence at the front desk when I left my appointment Monday. The message from this place is LOUD and CLEAR. Your pet (FAMILY MEMBER) does not matter here AT ALL. Please take your pet elsewhere. I filed a complaint with OR board of Vet. Medicine for refusing to release his prescription without payment of the account. Can't do that to an established patient (post surgical, by not quite a month, I might add) Unreal. Needless to say I will be finding a new vet to see him through this.
