Having worked in a medical dermatologist office for 3 years I'm familiar with cosmetic procedures including Botox. I had previously gotten Botox at my old work YEARS ago for migraines and wrinkle preventative and I loved it. I always thought the doctor I worked with was conservative, and since the Botox I got from my boss was free it made more sense that she went conservative. But I was very wrong. If you want results but also something conservative Jessie is you're person. I told Jessie how many units I typically got and she did 6 units less. It doesn't seem like a big deal but it is. Instead of doing my forehead which my doctor usually did Jessie opted to only do my lateral eyebrows and my glabella (the frowning wrinkles). I saw results within the next day, and 80-90% results by the second day. My migraine was skipped this month (monthly hormonal related migraine) and my brows are lifted giving me a more awake look. I'm so pleased it's unbelievable. Not only that Jessie gave me advice as to not get Botox until after my second baby is done breast feeding. I'm not pregnant but plan to get pregnant. She sat with me to calculate if the timing was good. I'm so grateful Jessie is so thorough. Lastly, Jessie gave me some advice as to where I could look for employment in Oregon as I had just moved from California. This is top notch customer service. Dr. Lopez performed two surgeries on my arms. The first was done through the axilla (armpit)…read moreincisions. While this approach is often preferred, not every patient is a good candidate. Two board-certified plastic surgeons I consulted prior had told me I was not a candidate and would not be happy with the results. Dr. Lopez, however, assured me I would achieve the outcome I wanted, showing me pictures and telling me she had done many surgeries like it with great results. I had the surgery, and a year later I was very unhappy. In many ways, my arms looked worse. For the entire year, Dr. Lopez told me there was nothing more she could do--other than pointing out that now, my arms looked "better in clothes". Sadly, that was not what I had been promised, nor what I paid for. She performed a second surgery, an actual brachioplasty, but the results were still poor and fell far below the standard of care. I then sought multiple evaluations from actual board-certified plastic surgeons. All agreed: the results I was left with were not acceptable, not what I paid for, and fell far below the standard of care. Dr. Lopez offered a third surgery--at an additional charge--but by that point I had lost all confidence in her skills. I found another surgeon who quoted me the cost to repair the damage, an actual board-certified plastic surgeon. Rather than asking for a full refund, I only requested reimbursement for the amount I would need to pay for the corrective surgery. Dr. Lopez has continued to refuse. In my experience, most plastic surgeons will work with patients or provide refunds when the results are clearly unacceptable. Dr. Lopez did not. While I have never sued anyone for anything before, I am having to sue her to get her to do the right thing. So, I ask you, is Dr. Lopez the cosmetic surgeon you really want to do business with? Bottom line: Had I known then what I know now, I would never have scheduled surgery with her. Do your homework. In my opinion, Dr. Lopez talks a good game but does not have the skills to deliver. I wish I had the ability to show you, my arms. Dr. Lopez is a cosmetic surgeon, not a board-certified plastic surgeon. Google the difference, then strongly consider another surgeon.
