Over the phone and by email, Shelley handled all of my long-distance requests (I was in the States and my daughter is in Halifax) with patience, and always in a timely manner. She accommodated our need for overnight storage, and worked with our timing to get out of one place and into another. The day of the move, which happened during the NS wildfires, the company's timing got a little derailed, through no fault of their own. When that impacted my daughter's move, they proactively waived some fees as compensation, and worked with her to make sure that they could still get the move done in time. Shelley sent over an extra mover, and when we suggested doing the move right into the new place, without the overnight hold (we were able to get her into the new place earlier than expected!), Shelley rolled with the punches, and pivoted to execute the move in one day. The extra mover (which we were not charged for) and the whole crew worked quickly but carefully, and got the move done in record time. Overall, it was tremendous value for what we got, and the move was done faster than we expected! Being far away was stressful for me, but Shelley made sure that everything ran smoothly and that my daughter was taken care of. I would highly recommend Gentle Giant for your local move. Jeff was very quick to respond via email and gave a very good price to move the appliances and even followed up with me to adjust their schedule to a day to fit my move window and meet my budget. My appliances were wrapped up in heavy moving blankets and secured in their truck. They even rolled out the red carpet (literally) to ensure that my new floors and hardwood stairs would not be damaged while moving the appliances to their locations on different floors. They were friendly and polite. In short, I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience with them.

The guys arrived on the dot and in no time the house was empty and the truck full. I was nervous about some of my treasures, particularly old dishes from various family members that go back 150+ years. I needn't have worried. Everything arrived in perfect condition, unlike my last move where a whole set of irreplaceable dishes was broken. Jeff and his crew were courteous and, while I was upset that the property managers had not placed the elevator on service, Jeff and the guys were unfazed and said that since there was only one flight of stairs to deal with it was actually easier and quicker for them to use the stairs! Muden's was able to store our stuff for one week until our apartment in Halifax was ready and the crew that showed up (early again) was just as friendly and professional as the crew in Ontario and quickly unloaded the truck. Everything arrived safe and undamaged. The best part was that the final price was less than the quote. Exceptional service. They exceeded our expectations. In the delirium of lugging couches up stairs, it became very clear that money spent on movers would be worth it if for no other reason than neither of us would be charged with the murder of the other. When we moved from this heinous apartment into our new house, we were blown away by the service of the three person team who came to help even after being told of the no elevator situation. That alone made them pretty much saints in my book. What would have taken us three weeks and multiple hard prescriptions took these guys a mere three hours including a stop at a separate location to pick up appliances. We're talking out of the apartment and into the house in a single morning. And did I mention that we didn't have to lift a finger? I won't spend too much time talking about just how affordable they are in case they finally realized how much more they could be charging for their expertise, but I will say that given their work for us the last time, they'll be first on our list for our next move.

This was not true. I was going to let it go but I can't. I am pleased the owner has the backs of his employees but I don't appreciate the accusations. Once again- the bare bones details: Booked Able because I moved a lot and I like to move my custom around, share the wealth as it were. One of the movers saw a doorstop from my previous movers and immediately was offended. So, here's the the thing. I booked them for a small truck move. I explained the situation and location. They agreed to come with the correct truck for noon. I started calling them at 4 pm to ask why the truck wasn't there yet. The owner let all my calls go through to voice mail. At 5 pm they showed up with a huge moving truck, completely inappropriate for the tight quarters. I'm on the corner of two busy streets. No place to park so they all left and returned over an hour later with another big truck. I'd been told they had a smaller one they could use. Parking was still a problem, so we were discussing if they could park in front of the dry hydrant - I agreed to pay the ticket if they got one. While we were discussing, one of the movers saw a woman he knew, and they started heading over to Alderney landing for a coffee. At that point I did raise my voice to reach him, asking where he was going. He yelled back he was going to take a crap and that he didn't want to crap in my apartment. This was in the middle of Portland and Alderney drive. I have to admit that by this time I was losing it. I have MS and am disabled and the stress and long standing was exhausting me. The boss then called me to tell me his mover was offended and would no longer move me because "I sweared at him". I admit, I may have said 'where the hell are you going' but it was already 6 pm and absolutely nothing had been moved My son and I decided that was the end, being told off by the boss when the service was so impossible. We fired them at this point, my son rented a truck from Enterprise and we and my landlady (God bless her) moved us across the street. It took us until midnight and I had to rest for a week afterwards. They didn't even offer to carry things over. It was just across the street!!! I felt the one mover didn't like the look of the move after what was admittedly a long day and deliberately made it impossible. I found no support at all from the boss of Able Movers and to see his response to my previous review, he remains the same. He did not listen to my side of the story at all, and never responded to my phone calls- in fact only talked to me when he called me to tell me off for MY behaviour!!! Just to give you a perspective, I am 5' tall, 61, and disabled. They treated me horribly all day. I will never use these movers again and hope they change their attitude for others.

For around $85 including tax, I got 25 large green bins, two tall cardboard wardrobes and a dolly. It. Was. Amazing. The wardrobes meant that I took my clothes out of the closet and hung them in a protected box, and then put them in their new closet. So easy! And the boxes fit tons of stuff. It was such a relief to not have to go out searching for clean, large cardboard boxes and then spend time putting them together and disposing of them. Plus, Frogboxes are reusable and thus better for the planet! On top of the convenience, the service was fantastic. Both my fiancee and I had ordered boxes, and when we unpacked them a couple days early we gave Frogbox a call and they were happy to swing by to pick them up. That was a major, major help in getting our new apartment to feel like home as quickly as possible.

While the NSLC can often hook you up, the boxes are small and it's such a pain in the ass to take time out of your day to go on the hunt. Enter Frogbox. They will drop off and pick-up these big beautiful green plastic boxes. They're stackable, sturdy and for the tree-hugger in me, I dig that they're reusable. They also sell packaging material that is recyclable as well. Which, if you've moved with your stuff packed up in newspaper before, and then had to clean everything after moving, their packing paper is like a special miracle. I would not hesitate to go with these guys again the next time I move, although I hope it's not for a very long time....

They still not finished until 10pm at night and charged me $1500. The movers left half of my stuff in the apartment and it took me another 3 days to bring the rest in my small car. They also broke my furniture. When I complained to the manager he started blaming me for not making sure that workers were delaying the the whole process. Please do not use this company ever. They are not reliable and will not do a proper job.

I outlined my move to Bob on the phone, told him what needed to be moved, he said no problem. Bob's adult son, Scott, was aggressive, inappropriate and called me names in my own home. He and his pal Mikey obviously have a good cop/bad cop game going on. They complained about everything. They refused to work and said they wouldn't move anything - knowing we (as is everyone on moving day) was on a tight timeline. Mikey (good cop) agreed to do some moving, but they refused to do what was promised, leaving the bulk of work to me, while they stayed inside and complained. They complained about having to move boxed items (that's why I hired them!). They complained about my furniture. They complained about my house. They asked inappropriate personal questions, making us feel very uncomfortable in our own home. Furniture was damaged, boxes broken and interior walls damaged. No care was taken whatsoever, except with their credit card machine at the end of the ordeal. I am convinced they solicited all the 5star reviews on google. Would never recommend. This company should be out of business.
