KTAS (for short) have been there for years but I have never dealt with them up until about a month ago. The team there are brilliant and Michael and Cassie who run it are an absolute pleasure to deal with. They tell you straight if there is any issues with the car and will give you accurate pricing and also give you options on what needs to be fixed first. The are priced well and you can drop of your car there in the morning and pick up at the end of the day and they are also open on Saturdays. Would highly recommend KTAS!

I am happy to say that Aussie Auto on Pickering Street in Alderley is definitely one you can trust, just good old fashioned honest and reliable service. The team here are very pleasant and really flexible! I don't know how many times I have booked my car in for a service and then had to cancel/reschedule at the last minute. I have a Rav 4 and a standard service for me usually costs around $140 and includes a full inspection of the vehicle, a minor detail, engine de-grease and car wash! The little extra niceties make all the difference.

I had done my research and pretty much already knew what I was after, but it's good to see what's on offer. The unit i was looking at was available at places like JB, sure, but the folks at Northfield are experts, and their prices are on par with JB anyhow. The guy I spoke to showed me a couple models (plenty of great stuff out there) but I went with the one I had already picked out. He didn't try to up sell me things I didn't need, was quite honest with me about the gear, with no pressure. In the end the decision was mine. They were able to put it in right away, so I left my keys and went off to do a few things. On my return he showed me how to use it and also hooked up my phone through the bluetooth. Too easy! Look, is it cheaper to buy the gear online and install it yourself? Sure is. But if you have a newer car, take a look online and see just what you have to do to get to the speakers. I'm happy to let the experts rip out my back seat and entire trim to get to the rear speakers when I get around to upgrading them.

The place is always busy, as I drive by it regularly, but the thought of going away from my Mitsubishi dealer service was somewhat daunting; now, I can only imagine how much money I would have saved if only I'd gone there for service years ago. Andrew Burrows, the owner, and his team are great people to work with. Their service is impeccable with an honesty - they actually try to save you money on repairs! - that's a rarity in today's world of hustle and bustle. They service all makes and models of cars, utes - almost whatever you drive - with a quick turnaround time and labour costs that won't break the bank! They also handle Safety Certificates - got one for a Honda Accord I recently sold - and also sell batteries, ice and even BBQ gas. However, go there for the automotive service. You'll be a convert if you own a car.

I'll get my filters from here, oil, car wash, etc, but anything more serious than that and you probably want to go elsewhere. That said, I've found the staff here all seem to know their stuff, and are helpful enough. If you want to go it alone, there's a whole bunch of guides you can look up to find the right part for your car. This particular Super Cheap is always pretty quiet, which is great. Not the easiest location to get to if you're heading north, but it's only a small hassle to chuck a U-ey or head down one of the back streets to get there.

Repco is the auto parts chain that was around when I was a kid. They still feel a little less…read moreretail (most parts are stored out the back and someone has to go grab it all for you), but they do appear to be increasing their shelf space out the front. This particular store is open weekends (not all are), which is great for the enthusiast working on their car, or just the person saving a bit of cash doing their own service. I recommend knowing what you want before coming in (product codes and the like), but even if you don't, the staff are happy to look it all up for you. Every staff member here has been super friendly and helpful. I went in today because I saw they had 35% off the oil I was after. While grabbing various filters also needed, the man helping me let me know the Repco brand price as well as other options, so wasn't trying to upsell the most expensive brand or even the company brand. If you're a member of RACQ you can expect a 10% discount as well, but keep an eye out. A few weeks ago it was a 30% discount, and it was 20% today. I'll definitely be back here next time I need something for my car.

The door strap on my '98 Camry suddenly snapped off and I was quoted by Toyota $52 for a new one…read more My dad called GDM and we were quickly told it would be $20 for a used strap from the wrecker and they were very much in stock. The address is a little confusing, it brought me to the office where I stood for a good 10 minutes outside the locked door before an employee directed me around the corner to the wrecking yard. Trent went straight into the yard and brought out the part I needed within ten minutes. I'm always happy when car issues are fixed for me so promptly and at such a great price as well!
