Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience. We went to Laura because she took over once our prior tax advisor retired. Laura was sick and had to cancel our first appointment after I was on hold for 30 minutes, I rescheduled our tax appointment when she was feeling better and Laura was 30 minutes late again! Punctuality is important to me. She told me I owed $25,000 in taxes when I was expecting to pay no more than $10,000. Our phone call ended with me in tears. I obtained a second opinion and now only owe a fraction of what she estimated. Strongly do not recommend her services. read more

Based on the great reviews we decided to get both our business and personal taxes done here. Two stars for friendly people. Other than that, I was not too pleased. During tax season it is always very busy anywhere. However, I believe this place takes on more than they can chew. Our initial consultation was great. They were responsive, seemingly very knowledgeable, and we felt like we were in great hands. Once we provided them with everything they needed, they missed deadlines (even though we came in a couple months before the tax rush) we had to file extensions, they didn't return phone calls or emails in a timely manner, and had several mistakes. They apologized but at that point we were frustrated and irritated with the incompetence. Once our taxes were finally done, I had a question and called the office. They told me our tax preparer was no longer there and that someone will call me back regarding my concerns. I never got a call back. Their prices were reasonable for business tax preparation and filing. But for your personal income tax preparation, you can definitely find a better deal. My spouse and I have been going to All About Numbers for over five years. We trusted AAN and had a wonderful relationship with them. When we came in last year to file our 2022 taxes, a discussion made us found a mistake on our 2021 return. We caught their mistake, not them. Although we submitted all necessary documents to file our taxes, AAN made an error. It was amended and we were hit by the IRS with over $1,500 in interest/penalty fees and over $20,000 in owed taxes. We requested AAN to reimburse us only the interest/penalty fees, but they refused and only offered to reimburse us $405 (what we paid them to file our taxes that puts us in this mess). They told us that because we signed their engagement letter, they basically had the right to possibly make mistakes and not be held accountable for it. The error was no fault of our own and yet we had to pay for it. We trusted AAN and felt valued as loyal clients who have been with them for years, but they did not care. Please be aware of this "engagement letter" that they require you to sign/initial because if they make a mistake and cost you thousands of dollars in fees, they will not be responsible for it. read more

I would give less than a 1 star review, but I don't see that option. I am utterly stunned at the lack of their professionalism, and with what seems like a complete disregard for me and the work they agreed to provide. I reached out to them because I was a victim of a ponzi scheme in which I lost all of my life's savings, and they advertise having expertise in declaring that kind of loss. In doing my taxes, Laura and her assistant were not in communication with each other so Juelie submitted the wrong tax return. I only noticed their mistake after 5 months of trying to track where my refund was, which, by the way, they did nothing to assist me with except give me the IRS phone number and ask for more money. After I realized they submitted the incorrect tax return, I reached out to them in January to make the correction and submit an amendment. Since that time, they have ignored my phone calls. Numerous emails have gone unanswered. Then, when they finally did answer me, both Laura and Juelie minimized the situation. Juelie said, "It's not that dramatic of a difference, so there is really no rush." Laura wrote, "There are 3 years to amend, so though it is urgent to you it is not urgent compared to 4/18 deadlines". Speaking from someone who is a victim of a crime where I was defrauded of all of life my savings, their responses were heartless, harmful, and flat out rude. While perhaps to them the amount of my refund seems like nothing, it is a lot to me. It has been over 5 months since I reached out to them initially to fix their mistake. After my last 2 emails and 2 phone calls, Laura's only response to me was, "I'm on vacation until May 2nd". No apologies. No acknowledgement of how they made the mistake. Nothing about how they will rectify it. It is beyond me how they manage to stay in business. read more

Called for consultation asked for an appointment and was told flat out no not until after taxes

I am sure they probably can do taxes but they were not able to get ours done. We met with them 6 weeks ago set up meetings dropped off paperwork weeks in advance and they still didn't get them done. I picked up my tax info took it to Lindstrom Accountancy Corp and had them done in 2 days. They acted like my taxes were complicated and needed special handling. Overall I would say a lot talk very little action. No we will not be back. Must be under staffed or disorganized not sure. I would recommend going elsewhere! read more

I've used them for a few years now but won't for next year. Here's why. I have what I consider a pretty simple return. Nothing too complicated. They request a substantially long questionnaire to help them do your taxes which I don't have a problem with. My problem is that I don't think they go over it. There also seems to be a lack of interdepartmental communication. I had to go to the office twice because the first return had some sort of error. Also I specifically told them that I would not be using a certain dependent that I used the previous year. On top of that they overcharged me substantially and still haven't told me how they will reimburse me for the difference. This is the first year with such problems. read more

I am a pastor in San Jose and was recommended to see a man named Ryan Benton who specializes in clergy tax rules. It was hard to get an appt at first because it was right in the middle of tax season, but once I mentioned I was referred to their company I was able to make an appt quickly. Front staff was courteous and emailed me all the pre-meeting forms ahead of time to fill out. I still had a few more to fill out when I got there but it saved a lot of time. My meeting with Ryan was professional, helpful, and knew all the specifics when it came to clergy taxes and particularly my church denomination (UMC). He helped unpack some of the issues for my particular tax situation, and explained and recommended how to prepare for 2017. Ryan is fast, helping me with tips and advice while preparing my taxes in about an hour. Afterwards I left with my finished copy of my 2016 tax return. Overall, I was very happy with his work and the advice he gave me, and I plan on working with him for future years. My other suggestions: -contact them early in the tax season. That was my biggest mistake. -contact them with a referral. People who give referrals get a discount towards the next years return. If anything, say that I (Jon Visitacion) referred you. And then refer others too! -get there 10-15 min early, in case you do need to fill out additional paperwork. -they are stationed in Stockton but Ryan drives out to various regions for certain weeks of the tax season. If you catch him early enough, you may not have to make a long drive. read more

We arrived prior to our scheduled time. We were seen, and were in and out within an hour or so. Nothing really stood out. I kind of expected them to have everything completed once we got there since that was what was told to me, but they informed me they got really busy. Been coming to All About Numbers since 2011. Prior to coming here, I went to a family friend's accountant all the way in San Jose. It went a little fishy as she would have our names placed as tax preparer and not hers (yet we were paying her a tax preparer fee).... later on figured out that some parts of what the person was doing was not right. A year later, saw a different accountant in Sacramento based on a friend's referral..though they helped us with our taxes (and corrected 2 yrs worth of taxes from the previous accountant) we were still dissatisfied with the customer service..there was just not a connection and warmth. Finally tried out All About Numbers and met with Jolene in 2011. She is always a pleasure to work with and is always professional. Seeing Jolene, though only once a year, is like seeing an old friend...there is never an awkward moment or feeling of unfamiliarity. Whenever we have any questions, she is always responsive and does it on a timely manner. When she is out of the office for vacation, there is someone in their office who gets back to me to provide me information..and that is always appreciated. Want to say thank you to Laura and Jolene I was going through a tuff time with the IRS getting lots of letters and bank accounts being levied. I had no idea what to do.
