I would like to get another exam but my glasses were never right even after returning for a 2nd exam. The first pair of lenses were placed wrong in the frame, and I almost fell a few times due to the placement, and the right lense was blurry. It made me dizzy. I went back because it wasn't working, and i could tell it wasnt me and i wasn't going to adjust to it as the said to wait a few weeks...i think there is only a 30 day period to get things right before they dont care anymore. My right lense is still blurry. They are unusable as it makes me dizzy due to one being correct and the other blurry. I can't "adjust" to it as they advised. I spent hundreds of dollars for basically something I can't use. I had to insist they retest and correct them. My daughter cant use hers either.My family will have to go elsewhere next time. My insurance starts over soon. Good thing January is just about a week away so I will be able to see again, out of both eyes. read more

Very nice experience. Customer service was excellent. Eye exam was thorough. Chelsea had the frames I wanted to try on out and ready for me after exam. I asked for her opinion on frames and she was very helpful. Donna greeted me and took me back for exam, and took care of me when I came back to pickup my glasses. She answered all my questions. Very customer focused. Overall, I couldn't ask for better service. Everyone that helped me was friendly and courteous. That's why I continue to return. my contacts were wrong, when I went in to get assistance i was told there was nothing that they could do. so here I sit with $200 worth of contacts that are useless. I will never recommend going there to anyone. read more

My husband and I both had exams and purchased eye wear at the Sterling, Illinois location. Selection of eye wear was good. Staff at the front desk were helpful and pleasant. Doctor was not personable at all. He didn't provide any feedback on exam (i.e. if / how your prescription changed or even what the results were). Would not return due to this. Trainee was assigned to fit and measure for bifocals, etc. She was friendly and was given some oversight. However, she made errors and fortunately we asked for someone with more expertise to advise. The end result was less than satisfactory. Both of us feel our glasses were not measured with 100% accuracy. However, we didn't return to have them corrected due to lack of confidence with the facility. read more

They make getting an exam and eye glasses a very pleasant experience! The whole staff, from the lady who gave me the friendly greeting the second I walked in the front door, to the lady that setup my eye exam and helped me pick out my frames, and to the eye doctor who gave me my eye examination,( DR, Z)...all SO friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The total price was less than I had budgeted, and I highly recommend "All about Eyes" for all your eyewear needs! read more

History

Established in 2006.

All About Eyes, founded in Central Illinois in 2005 by Harlan D. Hankins, II and Chad A. Wolenhaupt, has grown by leaps and bounds over the last decade. The company began manufacturing, corporate, and retail operations out of its flagship Bloomington location. By 2009, its retail growth had outpaced its manufacturing capabilities and a dedicated optical laboratory facility was needed in order to keep pace with demand. In order to accommodate this growing need, the company purchased 315 S. Center Street, Bloomington, Illinois and moved all corporate and manufacturing operations to that location. All About Eyes has persevered and now partners with one of the most advanced optical laboratories in the country, headquartered in Normal, Illinois. Having grown to 23 stores, All About Eyes has changed a lot over the years, but the core values remain the same: Deliver a high quality product and provide the best customer service in the industry. Our Sterling location opened in August, 2010.

I ordered 1 pair of glasses, it took them a week to get the frames in, and THEY DIDN'T even do the lenses. They had me come in to LOOK at the frames when I already told them they were the ones I wanted, and then made me wait another week for the lenses to be done. The day I was supposed to go pick them up they said that they had messed up one of the lenses and that it was going to take ANOTHER WEEK! I was upset and asked them why couldn't they have them ready in the next couple of days since they had messed up my lenses, they should put me at the front of the line. They told me I had to wait till they RAN A WHOLE TRAY of lenses before I would get mine. They eventually called me back and told me they weren't going to be able to make my glasses at all because they messed up and now couldn't afford to produce them for what I had paid, and it wasn't worth there time. The lady furthermore called me an A*&hole and hung up on me. What kind of horrible business is this? I urge you not to go here, there is much cheaper and much more reliable places to get your glasses in Sterling IL like Walmart and Bard Optical. Good luck and save yourself the trouble AND DONT USE DISCOUNT SHAMWEAR!

Proceeded to go back to US Cellular and was informed to send it in under warranty and they'd send me a new one. When I went to Verizon I was told it should have been marked as defective and sent back to the company and my money should have been refunded. SKIP THIS STORE AND GO TO VERIZON. This store has horrible customer service!!!!

About four years ago I walked into this store to set up new phone service, and the guy that…read moreassisted me set me up with the wrong plan (after trying to up-sell me by lying). I went in a few days later when I realized the error and was told that I had to come back again when he was scheduled to work. I did so a day or two later. He did change the plan to the correct one, but not before trying to up-sell me again. I can't prove it, but I am nothing short of positive he did it on purpose based on his demeanor and response when told what happened. I made the mistake of not calling him out on it right then and there, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, since I was getting a prepaid plan and the original plan he gave me was a postpaid plan, a new account had to be created. Instead of closing the original account, he just made the new one and a month later I get a huge bill for old one. When I asked about it, I was told that the account would be zeroed out and closed, but that it might take a month or so, so I should just disregard any future bills. Which is exactly what I did when I got the next bill a month later. A month after that, the bills stopped coming so I assumed the account had finally been closed. A couple months after that, I get a notice from a debt collector for it, and when telling the debt collector that it was a fraudulent debt, they reached out to US Cellular for "proof of debt", and all I received was a copy of the original invoice. I reached out to US Cellular, but all they told me is that once it goes to collection it's out of their hands. For months afterward, I received multiple calls daily from the debt collector and additional notices threatening to report me to the credit bureaus. Fortunately it never appeared on my credit, but just today I received another notice from a different collection agency for the same thing. I have wasted at least two hours this evening calling the US Cellular store where I initially set up service, calling US Cellular customer service, and chatting with US Cellular customer service online. I have been transferred, put on hold, told I would be called back but wasn't, and just given the runaround. All I've gotten is "you need to talk to someone else" and they give me a number and tell me that it's the "dedicated Fraud debt reporting" number, or the "Financial Services" direct number, but it's just the regular customer service number which is almost completely automated. When I did get through to a human, all I was told is that it's my problem and there is nothing anyone can do since it's already gone to collections. US Cellular, if this goes on my credit report: watch out.

I was so happy with All About Eyes! My service provider was Ryan. Ryan was amazing! He was very professional, yet had a sense of humor. He was able to get me an appointment within the time I requested, which incidentally, was the very same day. After my exam, Ryan already had some ideas in mind as to what frames I might like. Bingo! The first frame he suggested was one of the two pairs I purchased. My two pair of glasses arrived in less than a week. I was so happy and rushed right to the Sterling store. To my surprise, Ryan was working! I was thrilled because I knew I was going to get great service. And, of course, I did. I am truly happy with my new glasses and highly recommend All About Eyes. Love this place got my wife and my last 8 pair of glass here .my experience was above and beyond. From the thoroughly exam to simple adjustment recently o brook my glass.my nephew is the manager. He was on vacation called .talked to Cassie she said no problem I had unbreakable glass .reorder them then and put a rush know I drove truck. And was using my old pair had try them in 4 days.Cassie is a great asset to your company. Will go there always . I cannot tell you how amazing Cassie is at All About Eyes in Sterling. We have used All About Eyes in our home town for years, and were traveling to Chicago for an out of the country flight. On the highway I realized I forgot my GLASSES AND am extra pair of CONTACTS. Totally freaking out, I stopped into this location and Cassie B really went above and beyond customer service. I had to bring my two little kids along and the doctor offered them suckers. Everyone was super nice and the care was exceptional.
