We brought our 15.5 year old dog in, he's in declining health and we wanted an exam and ideas on how to make him more comfortable. Our initial vist was over $800, two subsequent visits pushed the cost to $1500. They never discussed fees and I think they should have due to the dogs advanced age. Yes, we want our dog to keep on living, but there's a cost-vs-life expectancy issue here. Especially when our budget is tight. If they had said we would spending this much money over 3-visits I would have found another solution.
