Dr. Todd is a freaking gem. I wish I left my old vet place years ago and came here. You can tell…read moreshe cares about your pets and respects the fact that her customers work for a living and she doesn't try to nickel and dime you like so many places will. She also gets to the bottom of an issue faster because she's actually listening to what's going on and taking her time to examine your pet and be thorough. She will recommend something that makes sense and is actually necessary instead of imagining everything under the sun that could conceivably be wrong with your furball, taking advantage of your love and concern for your pet, and throwing the whole kitchen sink at the problem costing you a small fortune. I really appreciate that, cause it is far too common in my experience for that to happen. She's seen both my cat and my dog quite a few times (and Dr. Welsh a couple times who's cool too btw!) and provided some relief for my dog very quickly for an issue my old vet had me confused about for ages and had me routinely concerned about and spending money on with absolutely no results. She did everything she could to help my dear Kitty (and me) through his last days which was very hard. He was 12 years old and suffering from kidney disease. (PSA, when your cat gets a little older, like 7- fact check me w/ a doctor cause I read this online- make sure to get annual bloodwork done to check for this type of thing, I had no idea how important it was, and dogs can get it too!) I've heard that many vets automatically view kidney disease as an immediate death sentence and will advise you put your pet down right away. Dr. Todd considers the quality of life of the pet first and does her best to find a way to sustain a good quality of life for them as long as is possible rather than throwing her hands in the air and saying oh well. When the time did come to say goodbye, she was extremely helpful, took the time to answer all my questions, never pressured me, and handled the situation with grace and compassion. The staff in general seem very compassionate and understanding and it makes a big difference in a time like that when your vet place is full of people who actually care vs impersonal places that treat you and your pet like a number. The receptionists deserve mentioning as well because they're the first faces you see when you come in and therefore the first impression you get. The front of house in any business really impacts the overall experience for better or worse. Here they are all professional, respectful, and good natured. I only have good things to say about them and their furry companions who roam the office (there's a very handsome and affectionate office cat who's usually in the front and some bring their dogs to work too so they might come say hi!) Anyway, they work hard behind the scenes being diligent about important phone calls etc so that things can get moved along quickly for your pet. Seems like a given, but because you may have noticed this review is half review, half rant about *other* vets () I can say from experience that not everyone is this way. For example, if I have to order something online for my pets that requires vet approval they always approve it in a timely manner. They seem to like each other too and it comes across as a happy work environment which is nice. So if you're new to the area or sick to death of your current vet cause you can't trust them or pay their ridiculous prices, go to Court Street Animal Hospital, you will not be sorry!

The whole team here have an excellent ability for customer service and communication. My past year and a half experience with the hospital has been excellent for myself and my geriatric dog. My rating of 5 stars is based on the quality of care here verses the quality of care I have seen with other animal hospitals in the area. I without any hesitation will and would recommend this hospital to anyone in the area who needs proper care and guidance for their furry friends.

I asked the doctor to numb his mouth so we could open it and get a good look at what is causing him pain. They responded that "This is a No Fear hospital, so we don't want to upset the cat." I, too, have a professional degree heavy in Medical Sciences, so I corrected the doctor! "Nope. We are going to look in his mouth and see what is happening." And that is what we did. He has severe gum inflammation and probably needs some extractions. I was satisfied to see the inflamed gums since I could not get his mouth open by myself. Even though they are more expensive than the last veterinarian I tried, I went for the pre-operative blood work and scheduled the dental cleaning and x-rays for 2 weeks from now. I felt confident that my cat's treatment will be supervised by a Veterinary Doctor instead of a 20-year-old Intern. The doctor sent me home with liquid Amoxicillin and a pain pill that I could supposedly crush into his food. I could not crush the pills, but hid it in tuna and the stupid cat ate the medicine. My girl cat could never be fooled like that, but the boy cat is less brainy! I used 1/8th of a tablet and he is sleeping comfortably. It is nice that they were concerned about his pain and comfort; hence another reason why I went with the higher priced Animal Hospital. I trust he will get what he needs at Sunshine.

They let me come back into the room with Taz, gave him treats, and did everything they could to make him feel comfortable. I am very thrilled with how great they were and would consider taking him back even though I moved to Tampa and it is quite the drive now.

This is what a team running on all cylinders looks like! The empathy and positivity really shine here and would be glad to recommend this vet to anyone needing professional care at an affordable price. Thanks AHCC for keeping me healthy!! -Zeus & Fam

Dr. Radovik sits on the floor and always connects with my dog for awhile before any exam or intervention. Every time I've been there, it seems like she has all the time in the world with me and my dogs. She's very comprehensive in her approach - oftentimes pointing out observations that would be important to me other than the reason for my visit. Never is there any selling pitch, but rather suggestions for more affordable ways to treat the problem (e.g. OTC products). All the staff are compassionate, professional, and skilled. The vet and her technician looked at Wallace and said the same thing they gave me a price of what the procedures we're going to be, which seemed reasonable. Wallace and I walked out of there with some pain medication and antibiotics to take. They did do a blood test on Thursday, which the results would be in their hands by Friday the next day here it is Sunday night that I'm writing this and still no results back. I would've given them five stars if this one thing happened in a timely fashion as they stated. I will go back to them. They truly love animals and you can easily tell it as soon as you walk through the door. Let's start with the front staff: they always have a smile for us and know each of our four dogs and cat by name. They notice anything that's different from their normal behavior to the point I rarely have to even tell them if somethings wrong. The behind the scenes guys are always very friendly and efficient while never being abrupt or seeming to hurry. "Uncle" Ken makes a point to come and visit with our pups even if they're not on his rotation list for that visit. We use Dr Wood predominantly and I have to say that she has more knowledge than any vet I've ever met. She is a superb diagnostician and walks you through all options with an honest recommendation that has nothing to do with price, but what is best for first your fur baby and then for you and your wallet. The most important (at least IMHO) is that all of our animals love to go see them and never ball at going in. In fact they usually drag us through the door. That is unusual in my experience. We love them so much that even though we moved to the other side of the city we still make the trip there, passing by at least a dozen other vets on the way. If you're looking for more than a vet and want people that truly care about and love your babies then this is the place for you. I almost forgot something that was/is very important to us. We've lost/had to put to sleep 3 babies in our time with them. We always received a lovely condolences card. One of the babies died suddenly on a Sunday when they were closed and we had to take him to the emergency clinic. The next week we received a condolences card from them for him and we hadn't even had the chance to let them know that he was gone to the Rainbow Road. To this day I don't know how they knew but they did and it made a huge impact on us.
