The people who work here have all been very kind and helpful. It's not the nicest thrift store,…read morebeing a little rough around the edges, a little dirty, a little darker than I'd like, and in some areas quite chaotic/messy. The changing room is large and has good mirrors, but the floor feels dirty enough that I don't want to walk in sock feet in there. Bathrooms are available and serviceable. Prices, honestly, are hit or miss. There are som very good deals to be had--like the leather stacked heel boots I got for $3.99--but most clothing is priced by signage and this leads to situations where you want a simple unlined spaghetti strap dress but it's from a rack where everything is $8.99, or where a basic tee and a silk shirt are the same price. Some other prices are just outlandish, like how plant pots that were maybe $8 new are for some reason priced like $14.99? (Someone seriously has it out for the planters here, because I've seen this multiple times.) If you don't mind digging around, there are some good housewares, random tools, that sort of thing in big messy boxes at the back of the store, but this is one of those establishments where I bee-line to particular sections (kitchen wares, clothing/shoes) and don't bother looking at much of the rest of the goods because they're so chaotically "organized", are largely unpriced, and have a tendency to sit for ages so that new stuff gets lost in the piles of old stuff you already saw months ago. Baby clothes, for instance, are packed into boxes atop a clothing rack where they create a bit of an avalanche when you try to look through them, and many of them are a bit worn or stained, which in the low light can be hard to catch. The end cap of that rack is covered in miscellaneous stuff rattling around in big Tupperware bin without rhyme or reason. I think they'd do well to create a better system for rotating their wares, so it doesn't stack up as it does over time.

New-ish in town. Went somewhere else last time out of a time constraint on a weekend. First cut…read morehere. Got home and my girlfriend's response in a stern tone was, "WHO did that to YOU?" I hesitantly told her, "Nick. Nick did this to me..." She went back to working on her computer with an almost sassy proclamation, "Wellllll NICK's cutting your hair as long as we live here." There's your 5 stars. Annnnd moving right along... I checked out some of the other reviews (always with a grain of salt) before coming in. Sure, there's a price jump between a Sports Clips next to a Wal-Mart versus a higher end men's barber shop downtown, but that should be a given - or at the very least inquired about prior to scheduling, getting a cut, and then going to pay if a few bucks more is an issue that would later be used as a ding on yelp. The price was fair and right in line with anywhere else I've been in other nice cities with similar quality. Good bar selection. I unfortunately scheduled my appointment too early to enjoy this, but was still tempted. Solid gesture though. The other guys were on first name basis with their barbers catching up and cheesin' in the seat, so clearly there is good consistency amongst all the stylists. The receptionist didn't answer the phone like I was the Pope, put on a face like she was in a church play, give me a big southern "howdy," or pull a fresh baked pie out of the oven upon my arrival, but it's a trendy barber shop. That's what I sought out and that's what I got. So, all reasonable expectations were met/exceeded.

I actually drive all the way from Alabama to come get a hair cut and a beard trim. Typically giving large tips because of the great service. Today my drive was delayed a few minutes because of July 4th traffic coming from an hour away, and also with it being a busy weekend it took a couple of extra minutes to find parking. I arrived exactly 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and was told I would have to reschedule because there was another appointment an hour after mine. I offered to shorten the appointment time and not get the beard done. My haircuts typically take about 25 minutes. No other explanation or reason was given. I have never heard of this policy from them and it very unfortunate that it had to be after driving over an hour in the middle of my workday to get a haircut. Wasn't a fan of the receptionist's customer service, and will sadly be finding a new place to get a cut.

LOVE LOVE LOVE coolest surf shop EVER…read more The best selection of surf boards & paddle boards I have found up to date. So many girlie ones ohmygosh. Funday awesomesauce. Also, their clothing & accessories for men & women are off the charts fab. I finally found slides I LOVE here & so did hubby! We both LOVE shoes & I finally found a new pair of slides here that rock. Gonna bounce Aloha now. Hubby found a solid pair of leather Hawaiian Olukai flip flops $80 to $120 a pair, last pair in his size he is riding a thrill wave. Smiles all the way dude. They also have this super awesome section in the back of the store of cool antique second hand surf shack style home goodies, bamboo, hand woven wool beachy blankets & macrame, dishes, coffee cups etc., great vintage surf style gift stuff all situated around a couple bamboo couches in a vintage Hawaiian surf style "hang 10" hang out area where you can chill. Way cool dude. Can't wait to return. Catch you on the flip side. Highly highly recommend. Queen of Pirate'cola approved.
