She took time to hear my story and the story of my daughter's abuse at the hands of her perpetrator As well as my story. This agency, as far as I'm concerned is the only one in the county that is knowledgeable with anything trauma and victim related As well as taking the time to call people back and to provide resources and phone numbers to call. They are truly on your side here, unlike other agencies, such as Sane Sart, Trauma recovery center and DA advocates which I would altogether avoid because they're useless.

So we were excited to have another recreation and fitness center available other than YMCA. The center offered a Performing Arts Center, Family pool, gym, climbing wall, competition lap pool, worship center, weight room, group exercise classes and more. I paid for the fitness shuffle classes to include the Zumba classes which was so much fun. My two nephews would be placed in the child watch section while their parents (My cousin) worked out. My daughter also worked at the child watch section. My brother also worked as a personal fitness trainer. We were members of the Kroc prior to my daughter and brother's employment. All the employees were always friendly, nice and helpful. We surely enjoyed our time here. We have a lot of great memories.

I was reluctant to say the least, about having to send my Son to a daycare facility after my Mom…read morehelped watch him for his first year and half. I've heard so many horror stories about how children have been treated in daycares. I myself was one of those horror stories, and I've heard my Mom tell that story a number of times over my life. After interviewing with a number of recommended facilities and home day care services, we were referred to Circle of Friends Child Development Center. I prayed that we would find the right place for our Son, where he can be safe, nurtured, and learn social skills. After our first interview with Rose Thomas, we knew we had found that place! Our Son's social and mental development progressed so fast within the first couple of weeks! He has been there for over a year now and has grown so much! He absolutely loves his teachers, Mrs. Connie the most! Proper nourishment is very important to me and I've been pleased with the healthy food choices they provide to the children. They are very adaptable to specific food needs and or allergies as well. The center provides a monthly calendar of the menu and if for any reason you decide that your child would want something else that day, they allow you to bring a lunch for your child. I've been very pleased with the staff and the systems they have in place to ensure the growth and care of my Son. I have recommended Circle of Friends to a number of my colleagues and friends in the area and would continue to do so.

I was employed at this daycare, and I believe parents deserve to know what I personally experienced…read morewhile working here. The biggest issue I saw was a serious lack of support for both teachers and children. Staffing was consistently a problem, yet the focus often seemed to be on filling classrooms rather than making sure there were enough experienced teachers to properly care for the children. Teacher turnover was extremely high. I watched good teachers become overwhelmed, frustrated, and eventually leave. When classrooms are constantly staffed with new employees, children lose the consistency and stability they need. I also witnessed children with significant behavioral or developmental needs who were not receiving the level of support I felt they needed. There were situations that raised concerns about supervision and child safety, and I did not feel those concerns were handled adequately. Teachers were also expected to handle large groups of children while keeping up with extensive cleaning and other responsibilities. The expectations could be overwhelming, and instead of feeling supported, employees often felt pressured and blamed. What concerns me most is that the same problems seemed to continue while efforts were still being made to bring in more children. There are teachers there who genuinely care about the children and work incredibly hard. My criticism is not directed at them. My concern is with the environment and the way the daycare is managed. I am no longer employed there, and I am sharing this because I believe parents have a right to ask questions before trusting a daycare with their children. Ask about staff turnover, classroom sizes, staffing levels, supervision, teacher support, and how behavioral and safety concerns are handled. Children deserve more than simply having someone in the room with them. They deserve a safe, stable, properly staffed environment where they can actually receive the attention and care they need.
