I came from the other side of the canal and had to cross this small pedestrian bridge, walk around this small but mega old church, walk over railroad tracks, through a street with only old concrete walls around in blazing Italian July heat. When I finally turned around the corner, it was a bit of a shock. Gogol & company was in the front of a new fancy development. It had a small garden of herbs nearby with some shaded seating with several patrons already enjoying it. I was in dire need of some internet access and coffee. Being an exhausted tourist in need of a large supply of caffeine to feed on while I do some interneting, I gave in and asked for an American coffee. They actually had a drip pot on the side already made for people like me. I know, it's terrible of me to do in Italy, but I was really tired. Since I was hungry, I also got some small eggplant dish with some bread. It was delish and only 2 euros. I think they have real meals, but I didn't try it and I was a bit confused about them. They speak English, so you can just ask them if you need. Oh, and the bookstore here is awesome. Lots of books on politics, philosophy, socialism and more, but also some graphic novels. They have a really nice collection of children's books. Unfortunately for me, everything was in Italian. So, I just amused myself by adoring the gorgeous artwork on the book covers and trying to learn basic Italian in the children's section. They also exhibit artwork by local artists. Nice decor. They have a second floor for more books and also sitting. I liked how I saw the barista went to clip off some herbs from the garden for a dish.

Another favorite in Milan. This is a bookstore/bar/cafe. It is a wonderful little hang out to…read moremeet friends, do some work, or read. The menu is simple, but the quality of ingredients is good. Gogol has a variety of honey, jams and wine for sale as well. They often have local art displayed and it changes regularly. I enjoy the music they play. You never know what it will be, but it is always good. Gogol offers free wi-fi and dogs are welcome. The couple that own the place are very nice too.

"Elegance is not catching somebody's eyes, it's staying in somebody's memory" - Giorgio Armani…read more Ciao! Armani has been my brand after I witnessed Julian Kay seduce a woman in American Gigolo. Don't get me wrong I'm no silver fox like Richard is today, and no man-ho like he was yesterday lol, but in his day, Richard Gere was Mr. GQ. That style has always resonated in me. Tho the past few years it's been a challenge not looking so disheveled:3 Before I go further, Armani is a luxury brand that originated in Milan, Italy. Named after the iconic designer himself, Giorgio Armani. It is said that Mr. Armani started his billion dollars empire by first selling his VW bus in the 1970's. The rest is history. Today, Armani is the name that represents class w/ multi offshoots of his famous name. This includes: Giorgio Armani: Exclusive to Giorgio Armani boutiques, specialty clothiers and select high-end department stores. This is the haute couture line. This is the brand I wear and it's timeless. Emporio Armani: The ready-to-wear and runway collections. Emporio Armani focuses on trends and modern traits. Also featured in Milan Fashion Week. The famous EA7 logo is also part of this line. I have a few pieces in this line - cool, rugged, and Italiano lol. Armani Collezioni: The pocket friendlier line that focuses on made-to-measure tailored suits and shirts. A sportier active look can be found here too. Unlike the exclusive Giorgio A., the Collezioni can be found in higher-end Dept. Stores and Outlets. Armani Exchange: Recognized simply by "AX" is the baby of the brands, founded in 1991 for the American market. It sells fashion and lifestyle geared to the younger crowd, and why it's known for its provocative ad campaigns. Inspired by street-chic culture and dance music, it is targeted as the more accessible of all Armani brands. Today it's in 31 countries and has it's own website. And not to sound like a snub but it's my least fav and I own none lol. Or maybe I'm just getting older :P Armani Luxury Hotels: A break from the clothing line took Giorgio to luxury hotels. In 2010, he partnered with a company in UAE, and today occupies 39 floors of the supertall skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Giorgio personally designed the suites and the residences. Armani luxury hotels can also be found in Milan and other chosen cities worldwide. Other Armani ventures include: The Armani Cafe (Italian coffee, bites, pastas); Armani Baby (baby wear); Armani Casa (designer home furnishings); Armani Fiori (florist); Parfum.. and something even I didn't know until now... Armani Dolci that sells specialty chocolates, jams, honey, tea, shortbread biscuits, sugar, fruit jellies and pralines. The brand is mostly part of other Armani stores but also has an independent boutique in Taichung, Taiwan! The wonderful world of Giorgio Armani! Oh! There's also a specialty Armani Privé that's only available to runway shows and private collections. Whew! In the end, if you're into fashion, or fashion week in Paris, London, New York or anything Italy... you'll love the elegance or masculinity of the Armani brand. A brand that has stood the test of time with it's focus on classic lines, top quality, and attention to detail. There are other designer brands that have come and gone, flashy and ultra couture, but to me I'm not one into flash or glitter. I'm all about looking classical sharp and why Giorgio Armani is my brand. I'm back to feeling good again and dressing the part. Nothing superficial if you're feeling good about self. I'll be in Italy in Armani next month! Look for yo Boi! "I love things that age well, things that don't date, that stand the test of time and that become living examples of the absolute best." - Giorgio Armani

Michelle stratton: "How many languages do you speak?"…read more Julian Kaye: "5 or 6" Michelle Stratton: "Plus the International language?" Julian Kaye: "That's right." - The American Gigolo I've always been an Armani man. It goes back to High School days when I would peruse the pages of GQ for the latest on Richard Gere and Tyrese. To me, Armani was the most testosterone driven look for high fashion. Lately, I've been less picky as my hips get bigger lol. I'm actually more a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy nowadays. Incognito part of my wardrobe. Yet on the rare occasion I like to dress up, and yes, I do clean up rather well :P I was never the biggest fan of Versace as I considered most designs were just over the top and who wants to look like Derek Zoolander or Hansel, right? Having said that I'm a big fan of a deal and when I came across a Versace polo shirt in Black on Black. The sale price was like 75% off retail and who cares if it was so last season. Black will never be out of style, so yes, I picked up my first Versace and I admit I felt a jolt of Julian Kaye! The moral of the story? You don't need Haute Couture to look good, or feel good. It's about you. Personally I like to mix and match, and throw my feelings to the wind. And like I said earlier I'm a t-shirt and jeans guy, but damn that Versace sure feels good. Just once in awhile I like to En Vogue down the sidewalk.. be it in Kaka'ako or in Milan.. Ciao;)
