When it comes to flowers, I'm not really much of an enthusiast or expert and, to be honest, I don't think I really want to be either. My experiences with buying flowers usually involve a quick dash to a local supermarket the day before Mother's Day in a frantic attempt to get a decent bouquet for under a fiver that still says 'I Love You, Mum'.
With that in mind, I headed to Alison's with a determination to try and find a decent bunch of flowers for a special occasion. The selection of flowers and arrangements on offer at Alison's is both extensive and impressive and even though I'm pretty clueless when it comes to flowers, what I can say is that they all looked very bright and colourful, which is basically my only way to judge a good bunch of flowers (ooh, look at all the lovely colours).
The staff at Alison's were friendly and very helpful, meaning even someone as oblivious as me was able to pick a nice bouquet with their help. The prices of their flowers did seem quite expensive, but then again I'm used to coming home with change from a tenner when I usually buy them, so I guess you're paying for quality with anything you buy here. read more
