A highly recommended, cute spot, I'm glad we chose to come here…read more We came for brunch which we all enjoyed. $2 mimosas after you purchase the first for full price, amazing deal. Love the quirky, cozy decor. Very fun and full of personality. Service was great! We had a large party and felt very taken care of and attended to. Would recommend!

Well, they all spoke English and not a lick of French. However, they do offer some traditional Quebec cuisine. They have communal bathrooms downstairs for both genders. You go into a stall and then wash your hands in the big sink. We ordered foie gras poele, le pate chinois, la tourtiere facon buche, and maple taffy. I'll provide the translation below. Great size food portions. Slightly expensive because they know they will get a lot of tourists. Service was good and attentive. -foie gras poele (pan seared foie gras) 5 - kind of expensive but really tasty. Cut a piece of foie gras with the brioche, and eat it together with the bacon bits and creamy corn. -le pate chinois (Quebec shepperd's pie) 5 - this was better than the meat pie. The braised beef was tender. It was delicious when you eat the beef with the mashed potatoes and creamy corn. This one is worth getting. -la tourtiere facon buche (Quebec meat pie) 3.5 - it has Quebec duck, Nagano pork, and AAA beef together in the pie. I wasn't loving it. I thought it was just okay, it could use more flavor. -maple taffy 4 - kind of sweet from the maple. You might as well try since you're here. They're known for their maple syrup.

I found this place from researching the best, authentic, non touristy poutine in QC. This showed…read moreup. Reviews were high on Yelp and Google. It was also a short walk from our Airbnb. We walked in for a late lunch at 2:30 pm. The staff was very welcoming. The restaurant is not big but it wasn't busy at the time. Prices were reasonable. We ordered the most popular poutine, the gaston medium size. It came with minced steak, onions, sausages, cheese curds, fries, and gravy. I had poutine before in Illinois and I thought it was mid, nothing worth going back for. The Canadian version is way better. The cheese curds taste different than the ones in Illinois and Wisconsin. It was soft and went well with the housemade gravy. The meat and onions were fresh. The fries were soft and not too soggy. The flavor of the whole thing was superb. It's weird that the American versions of other countries' food always taste subpar and off.

Chez Gaston is the kind of hidden gem you almost don't want to tell people about. It's tiny--maybe…read moreten seats if you squeeze--but it feels like stepping into a time capsule in the best way. Old‑school charm, family‑run warmth, and a friendly vibe that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. When it gets busy (and it does), it's perfect for takeout. I tried the Trio 3 Combo, and wow. The hot dog comes wrapped in butter‑toasted white bread and topped with creamy coleslaw--simple, nostalgic, and ridiculously satisfying. The small poutine that comes with it is loaded with squeaky cheese curds. Not a sprinkle... a mountain. Then there's the Gaston Poutine. This one is a full meal: heaps of cheese curds, crispy bacon, and ground beef all swimming in rich gravy. Hearty, comforting, and honestly one of the best poutines I've ever had. If you love supporting small, local, family‑owned spots--and you appreciate classic Quebec comfort food done right--Chez Gaston is absolutely worth the stop
