Thank you for opening your doors to me. In SKS I have found a place I truly like to call my acting…read morehome. I feel supported, challenged, safe, and motivated. I spent the last two years auditing classes and paying a lot of money at various scene study classes throughout Los Angeles. I felt empty after every class. Most were teaching me how to be an "actor" but I was already a working actor and didn't "click" with the vibe. My manager would say - "If you're not on set, you need to be in a class." I didn't buy into that because I couldn't see how the classes I had audited would help me. Most of them pulled theater material and dove into it for weeks at a time as if I were doing a play. One of my friends and an SKS student recommended I try SKS. She said it was a "different way" plus she had just booked two nice TV roles so... I tried it. This was going to be my last ditch at a class. I was at a low point in my career and questioning everything about my abilities. I hadn't booked anything in a while, I couldn't find a class to help me get better, I didn't see eye to eye with teachers or coaches I met. Gripping at straws I gave SKS a shot. The first person I met was Kristyn. She helped me set up my consultation and was there to gree me when I first arrived. Her vibrant personality and welcoming nature made me feel comfortable with the studio. I then had the pleasure of meeting one on one with Stan. I had a consultation with him and he explained that his goal was not to teach me to act. His goal was to help me book the job so that I would get an opportunity to act. Not having booked anything in a long time, my ears perked up. We worked a bit on a scene together and I felt like we spoke the same language. His metaphors made sense to me and the picture he was painting with his words was clear. Stan has a vision and is a master at bringing your best work to life. If there is a Phil Jackson of acting, Stan is it. He takes people who are good and makes them great! After the consultation I felt great about doing their "boot camp" which was a prerequisite for entering the studio as an ongoing student. It helps you learn their terminology and style. Before the boot camp started I received an audition from my manager. It was for the lead on a network pilot. I decided to hire an SKS coach to help with the audition. This is when I met Aleks. To say that Aleks is great is an understatement. He coached me up and put me in the right frame of mind to ace my audition. Regardless of booking the job, I felt great leaving the room. I've since coached with Aleks numerous times and the results are always beyond expectations. During boot camp I met Colleen. She is one of the teachers at SKS and brought some really good moments out of me when performing (moments I didn't even know I had). Every class you get to perform, every class you get to learn and every class you get to prepare for the opportunity to book the job. It's a winning formula. I was very "down" on the entertainment business before going to SKS. Today I have a new view and it's a breath of fresh air. Yesterday I started my ongoing class with Stan. The students are all supportive and I feel like I'm learning from them with every passing minute. I told my wife when I got home that I felt nervous going in, challenged throughout and AMAZING leaving my class last night. Stan Kirsch Studios changed my life by bringing light into my doubt and fear. I'm lucky to have found Kristyn, Stan, Aleks, Colleen and the rest of the SKS family. I am forever thankful to my friend Angela for referring me. I've been a working actor for 13 years and I wish I would've known about this place 13 years ago because I truly believe I would be a lot further in my career by now. Cheers SKS. Here's to a bright future.

I love love love Andrew, his teaching style, everything. After taking tons of acting classes from all kinds of teachers, I would bucket Andrew's class into the category of "Foundational". This doesn't mean his class is for beginners -- far from it. I'd actually say his classes are for those who are serious about the craft of acting and want to grow and deepen their relationship with themselves as an actor. There are a lot of classes that are geared toward specific acting niches. Meisner, comedy, commercials, auditioning, etc. Personally, I don't find classes that focus on one methodology (like Meisner) to be helpful, because they make you take a specific avenue to get an end result. I don't think you ever get in tune with who YOU are as an actor when you're going this route. It's always about the methodology, which can be kind of culty. Specific classes for things like comedy or auditioning for tv/film are great, but they aren't foundational. They're skillsets you need if you want to be a working actor in LA, but those classes won't make you a great actor, and they won't get you more in touch with who you are as a human, which is so needed for this craft! Andrew's class focuses on the core principles of becoming a fine actor. If you are a beginner, you are in the right place. If, like me, you've been in 20 different classes with different teachers, and you don't even know what to do with a script anymore because your technique styles are all jumbled up in your brain, you'll leave this class with clarity AND inspiration. Andrew's class is going to get you really comfortable with a script and a scene partner and YOURSELF. In my opinion, we are our own biggest obstacles in becoming great actors, and Andrew's style of teaching will bring you home to YOU while simplifying your becoming and unfolding of finding the actor within.

I love the business check-in, where she makes sure each student is on-track with their own personal career goals, no matter what stage we're at. I find it incredibly helpful to have some kind of homework each week to keep myself on task -- these can include both scene study as well as business steps - either things she noticed about my reel or actors access profile that could be updated, or footage I need to prioritize getting, or where to look for specific types of jobs. She is 100% not a gatekeeper of information, and truly wants and helps her students succeed. She talks openly about her own experiences and what we can all learn from them. Her class also incorporates warm-up exercises: either breathing, or quick improv/movement to get us engaged with our whole bodies. Cold read classes and prepared scene work are usually done in pairs, where we get about 20 minutes to work together before performing in front of the class. Taking RaeAnne's class has been so informative and fun, and I am so happy I found it!
