Meeting Mrs. Bower and her team changed my life. No, I'm NOT KIDDING! I had a stroke in 08/14, my whole left side gone. I couldn't take care of myself, couldn't think, couldn't focus my vision and I couldn't speak a word to make sense. Lost my job, used all my savings to pay on the bills I had and SSD is my only means of support.
Then I get hit with a lawsuit from a debt collector, Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC for Synchrony Bank, even though I had spoken to Synchrony about my situation. Since my teen daughter wasn't old enough to make payments on my bill it acquired several late fees along with interest which then got sold to Portfolio Recovery, the sharks. I tried to explain my situation to Portfolio just like I did Synchrony Bank, yet again all I got was "Pay your debt." I was getting several phone calls a day from Portfolio and each time I kept hearing, "Pay us now." It got so bad they started calling my underage daughter's phone. So, after I received the lawsuit from Portfolio Recovery Associates I started looking for a lawyer. Almost every single lawyer wanted $3000 and up. If I had that kind of money I wouldn't be in debt! I was losing hope and at the mercy of this lawsuit when I came across Mrs.Bower's information!
Right away she spoke with me over the phone regarding my case and possibilities. She set up an appointment for us to meet and go over things in the case. Once we met at her office we went over the options and details needed to proceed with a Ch 7 bankruptcy. Not once did I feel rushed or not heard in the conversation with her. She was very easy to speak with, no judgement, no condescending attitude or any of the BS most lawyers I had spoken with had given me regarding a straight bankruptcy. (I had no property, no money, didn't owe child support and no inheritance coming to me.) Her office itself doesn't resemble any type of stuffy overpaid lawyer's office, instead it was a welcoming environment, with the staff to match. The office even had a toy area for children to play while the parents got attended to.
After that first meeting she and her staff got the ball rolling on my case with explicit directions on what was going to happen and what paperwork was required. Her office manager, Dan, was genuinely attentive and understanding just like Mrs. Bowers. He always had information to provide and responded quickly to any questions I had or if I needed copies of paperwork.
That lawsuit is gone, no more harassing phone calls or letters from any creditors, but most of all I have piece of mind to contrate on my physical therapy for my well being and my daughter doesn't have to worry about dropping out of school to help me.
Thank you Mrs. Bowers and staff!! You have given me a chance to recover. read more
