I didn't have a specific stylist in mind, so I was matched up with Irina. I believe I called on a Wednesday and was able to get an appointment for a few days later. I was Irina's last appointment on a Saturday afternoon, but you never would have known. She was very friendly, listened to what I had to say, and gave lots of great advice. I left with the exact haircut I asked for. Have I been able to style it the way Irina did? Heck no. That requires talent I simply don't have. Irina taught me a lot about my hair - what to do with the random grays that make an appearance, the type of hair I have, etc. Seriously, what she taught me was totally worth the price paid; aside from the actual haircut itself. The salon is super clean and inviting. Lots of natural light, especially at Irina's station because of where she's located. They do sell hair products including Amika (which I personally like). I had no idea how much it was going to cost (around $75 with tip) for a women's cut, as prices aren't posted online. I suppose I could have asked when I scheduled my appointment, but it didn't really matter to me. I'm someone who gets her haircut 1x per year. Recommend. I'll definitely make a return visit.

The spa called my wife 4 days prior to the scheduled massages and informed her that they had made a scheduling error and our massages were canceled. No sympathy, no attempt to correct, just a lack of customer service. We were really looking forward to a local massage as we usually drive 35 minutes. Never had the opportunity to try this spa and never will if this is how they handle errors on their own behalf.

In case you haven't heard, THEY MOVED! The Bilancia Day Spa & Wellness Center (as it is referred to…read morenow) moved from the Coralville strip to Mormon Trek Blvd near Hwy 1. Talking with staff, it sounds like the entire, large space (formerly Core) was purchased, providing enough space for them to not only add massage and service rooms, but to build out a sauna and pool area. Wow! How exciting is that?! In the meantime, they appear to be progressing in settling the spa services into the space. There is a TON of space to decorate and warm up, so there is still a little inconsistency for the tone of the environment, but you will certainly notice some of the classic design comforts and staples that were carried over from the previous location. I always appreciate the services I receive, and my recent visit was no exception. My massage therapist did some great work on some problem areas and always felt professional, yet personable, throughout. And who doesn't love the warm towel and neck pillow in the pre-services quiet room, right? So good.
