I have several text messages where I reached out for an update on my situation. He charged $250 for myself and $250 for my partner. And we assumed everything was filed on time. I reached out a couple of months later to do some tax planning for 2013. Then, 2 months later we got a letter from NY State saying one of the deductions Kustal & Ferber put on our return (when it finally was filed a year late) was rejected and we owed over $1,000. We reached out to Kustal & Ferber repeatedly for an explanation and guidance. You hire a professional because they are supposed to know what they are doing. They clearly do not. Kustal never responded in any meaningful way. My calls and emails were simply not returned except to tell me that he was busy or out of town. He never once apologized for his negligence with the initial filing or for ignoring my months of many calls and emails. I was treated as an annoyance.
