Although I had an appointment and jumped right into his chair, the waiting chairs look like they came out of a theatre with the seats that fold up. This made for a special vibe. The shop has been barbering for over 100 years. It's easy to drive past it, but it's a place all should consider.

So instantly I felt uncomfortable. It's a small one chair shop. He's been cutting hair for a long time. But the cut was messy and too quick. Rick does cash only as well, which was a pain because I had to go withdraw cash after the cut and then come back to hand him the $20. Rick also had some unnecessary foul language and inappropriate comments, which didn't add positively to the experience. At the end, he didn't even attempt to clean up the loose hairs, which annoyed me (maybe he was pressed for time because of the next guy?? Not sure). I think ultimately, I just felt like another head of hair to get through.

I'm a middle-aged man with no hair on the top of my head, only on most of my sides and the back of my head. I asked for a very short cut all around - this was done nicely. It only took 5 to 7 minutes of time and was charged a little over $40 plus a tip. I understand we are not only paying for the cut but, should we also pay for the "expertise", the "experience", the "environment" for the circumstance in my own case? A thought to consider.
