I went there and could not have been more disgusted and embarrassed. I was there with two friends of mine, they have a sweet little baby daughter. We had the idea for brunch and decided to go to the ALEX.
After some time the little girl starts crying. Can happen and yes it could be annoying but luckily she has a good mum, who was well prepared and made the baby bottle ready. The bottle was still a little bit too hot and therefore it took 5min longer as usual to get things done. 5 Minutes too long for a staff member, he came over and insist that the child has to stop now because other guests already complained. I was shocked and speechless. And don't get me wrong it can be a good thing to ask if everything okay when a child doesn't stop crying especially when most parents would leave if they couldn't calm down their baby. But this guy didn't ask polite, even when he could clearly see the evidence that the little toddler was only hungry and the mother was already on the case this employee Mr. Paul R. was just rude. He had not just chosen the wrong words and and tone, he was rude and highly disrespectful. Any company who let such a guy handle customers should be ashamed.
When I tell the story friends here in Ireland they just shake their heads and mumble about that the germans usually hate children. But that's not fair because even one of the guest on the table next to us stand up came over and told us he had to listen to the words of Mr. Paul R. and when we would like to complain we have his voice too.
Anyway if you have children, stay away from the Alex as long they're not able to handle things in a kindly manner. read more
