Alex was a game changer! We adopted a 3 year old Golden Retriever with a whole host of issues, separation/isolation distress, fear reactive, just general anxiousness of the world. There were moments we questioned if we had it in us to help her. Over the course of a year, Alex helped us address and fix all of her "issues", breaking it down one piece at a time. Everyone around us has said she's a "completely different dog" than when we got her. We've given her peace of mind so she can be the dog she always was at heart: lovable, snuggly, who can play off leash at the beach, go to doggy daycare and so much more.

    Relaxing after training.

Alex has provided practical training in a safe, non-judgmental manner. She has helped so much with managing troubling behaviors of my young and energetic labrador retriever. Things like grabbing items off of a table or countertop have been successfully addressed. And, Alex has made the training fun and engaging for both my dog and me. This training experience has been such a game changer! Alex is great to work with as far as communication, scheduling training and tailoring solutions to our particular needs. Highly recommend her service!

I want to thank Alex so so much for helping us with our rescue dog Hannibal when we first got him he was in the shelter for six months and he was only nine months old at the time of adoption. He was scared of everything and everyone he wanted nothing to do with my husband and I and we just really wanted to give this dog a good home, so I reached out to my brother who went through Alex had all positive things to say and I gave her a call. She came over and really helped Hannibal get out of his shell and now he is one of the best dogs I've ever had and I could not ask for a better dog And that is all due to Alex and helping us train him to be a better dog. She is the sweetest person if you have any questions anything like that she is willing to help out. I am so thankful she was able to help us, and I could never repay her back for all of the joy she has brought to our family I completely recommend Alex and, she will be my dog trainer for every single dog from here on out

I absolutely love Alex. She clearly has a love in her heart for all dogs, even dogs who sometimes bite. We have had most of our trainers quit on us, or make our issues worse. Alex is the first trainer who actually seemed to care about the outcome of our dog and family. She is our 4th dog trainer and the only one who has effectively changed behavior. I've read some reviews that mention scheduling issues but from day one, we've never had any scheduling problems. Actually, it was Alex who kept me on track with training. Truthfully, I didn't ever tell her, but out of all the trainers we've had, she's also the most reasonable. She is as knowledgeable as a veterinarian and honest about things that may be affecting behavior. If you have an aggressive dog, and you need help, trust me, I've done the leg work....Alex is the best.

    Dugo

My family and I would like to thank Alex for helping us out with Dugo's behavioral issues. Dugo has completed his 5 week training and now is a proud graduate, we could not be more grateful to have found Alex. Thank you, Alex!!!

Great experience! We have an 8-year-old rescue Golden…read moreRetriever who developed some habits we wanted to correct and weren't able to do on our own with traditional training. A couple of these weren't terribly serious, but we felt we weren't "in charge" anymore, that our dog wasn't getting the message from whatever we were doing, and that if we didn't do something different, it could really get out of control. Brad really helped us with this, where traditional "training" wasn't working. We have two or three things we're working on with our girl, but here is the most dramatic change we had with one issue. She is very food motivated, and would beg from us at the table whenever we sat down to eat, and would be underfoot in the kitchen during prep. She got overly excited and would not settle and lie down. Brad explained we weren't communicating well with her on a dog level, so to get that communication kicked in to gear, he actually started our session not with this problem, but with making sure she would not dash out the front door when it was opened. This was to establish that we were in charge and what was expected of her. What he showed us how to do worked like you wouldn't believe. It was like a light bulb went off for our girl. What we did affected everything after that. It wasn't about dashing out the door, it wasn't about begging for food, it was about knowing what was acceptable in our pack and to look to us for direction. That night, at dinner, she went to her "spot" with a simple direction and was relaxed during our entire meal. She can now be directed to her spot and will stay quietly any time we need her to. Best of all, she seems truly relieved that she doesn't have to be in charge and that WE are. She is much more relaxed around so many other things. It gave us so much more confidence! I didn't think that what Brad taught us would work. It's quite counterintuitive. But trust me, it worked like magic. This is not dog training - it's communication with your dog. Brad answers all your questions, doesn't waste your time, shows you clearly and directly what will work. We're so thankful we found him!

I met with several trainers before Brad & had little to no success in the areas we needed most, I was exhausted. Now for the first time ever, I can leave him home alone without the overwhelming anxiety and guilt that used to come with it. Our walks are actually enjoyable again, and I feel confident bringing him around friends and into new environments. What I appreciate most is that the training gave me the tools and confidence to understand and communicate with my dog better. I have my freedom back, and Cash is happier and more relaxed because of it. If you're struggling with separation anxiety, behavioral issues, or just want a better relationship with your dog, I can't recommend Brad enough. The impact has been life-changing.

We definitely recommend Andi!…read more We originally reached out to Andi for consultations regarding both of our Maltipoos, Kiki and Coco. During our initial phone consultation, Andi was incredibly honest and genuine. After learning more about our dogs, she felt that Kiki was the one who would benefit most from formal training and suggested that we could apply what we learned with Kiki to Coco as well. We really appreciated that she didn't try to upsell us on training for both dogs when she easily could have. That immediately showed us how much she genuinely cares about helping dogs and their families. At the time, Kiki was about six months old and was extremely reactive to just about everything in the outside world. We were looking for someone whose methods aligned with our values, and we loved Andi's positive reinforcement approach. Kiki completed Andi's six-week program, and the growth we've seen has been incredible. What sets Andi apart is that she isn't focused solely on teaching dogs tricks or obedience commands. She truly cares about each dog's emotional well-being and how they're feeling throughout the process. We learned so much--not just about Kiki, but about ourselves as dog owners. Andi helped us understand how our own behaviors and responses can shape our dogs, which was eye-opening and incredibly valuable. Of course, the work doesn't stop when the training sessions end. It takes consistency and ongoing practice at home, but Andi gave us the tools and confidence to continue building on Kiki's progress. The effort has been absolutely worth it. One of the best parts is that we were able to use many of the same training methods with our older Maltipoo, Coco, and she learned and benefited from them as well. Andi actively encouraged this, which we really appreciated. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and ethical trainer who truly puts dogs' well-being first, we wholeheartedly recommend Andi and Diamond Dog Training.

Our main issue was walking and pulling on leash. After our six-week training course, our pups improved tremendously. Charlie was reactive (barking and pulling at the leash upon seeing other dogs) mouthy with constant nips to the hands, resource guarding (which really freaked us out) and really struggled with confidence and basic manners. We knew Charlie is a sweet, loving boy but training him was out of our wheelhouse. Upon meeting Alex, we immediately were made to feel supported and hopeful. What stood out the most was how calm, patient, and warm Alex was with our Charlie. He clearly understands canine behavior and approaches training in a way that builds trust and confidence rather than fear. You could see our Charlie begin to relax and learn almost immediately under his guidance. His mouthing stopped immediately, and the unique new schedule Alex provided has brought order and calm to Charlie's day. Not only are his guidelines used to create order, but also to strengthen the bond and relationship we want with our dog. Most importantly Alex is patient while trying to train US. He did an incredible job communicating with us throughout the entire process. Every day he sent videos, updates, and check-ins so we could see our dog's progress and understand what he was working on. Weekly at home training sessions helped us with Charlie's behaviors specific to our home. Alex made us feel included in the process and helped us learn how to continue reinforcing the training at home. The transformation in Charlie been amazing. He's more confident, far less reactive, and his manners have improved tremendously. We're so grateful for the care, dedication, and expertise Alex put into helping our dog succeed.
