I have been doing lessons with Chris for a while now and he is the go to guy to for a wonderful mix…read moreof singing lessons and music theory! He was very supportive of my singing journey, and I always look forward to our lessons together. While I am not exactly concert ready, I can see drastic improvement in my vocal ability and confidence in my way forward. Highly recommend. He is extremely competent with students new to lessons, as he is very able to convey complex theory or techniques regardless of where my level of knowledge with the topic is at. On multiple occasions he has also helped me game out the direction I want to go with my singing to the point that I believe he would recommend holding off lessons if he didn't think they were worthwhile to me. This is probably an uncommon level of integrity in a difficult business.

Each class is a step forward and we always feel like we've worked hard and have more to work on, and most importantly that we make progress every week. She has really helped me find a voice I'm happy with and to keep working on the belty rock sound I really want. We're writing our own songs, singing in public venues and excited about the future of our singing 'career' and it's all been because of her support. She's super professional and knowledgeable and answers all my questions honestly and thoughtfully and continues to research and study her field so there's so much to learn from her. At the same time, she's such a kind, welcoming and funny person that we've come to regard her as a wonderful friend too! Love our lessons and will keep coming to her as long as we are able to!

Olga is an amazing art teacher who brings both structure and real artistic talent into her…read moreteaching. She is disciplined and sets clear expectations, which creates a focused learning environment where students truly grow. Both of my children, Ivan and Natalia, have made so much progress under her guidance. She doesn't just teach techniques--she helps kids build confidence, creativity, and attention to detail in their work. What stands out most is that she is a true artist herself, and that passion shows in every lesson. We are very grateful for her impact and the way she inspires her students to improve and express themselves

Update in response to the owner's reply: To San Diego Music…read moreAnd Art owner/contact Max: Your response actually reinforces the reason I left this review. Your instructor, Olga, publicly criticized my child in front of other parents and children. My child is neurodivergent. At times, he may have difficulty following directions, transitioning, or completing more complex instructions. That does not give any instructor the right to shame, embarrass, or publicly criticize a child. What is especially unacceptable is that your staff was already aware of my child's needs. Instead of speaking with me privately, giving me a warning, or trying to understand what support he might need, Olga chose to criticize him in front of others. When I brought this concern to you, I expected the owner to at least investigate what happened and listen to both sides. Instead, you immediately defended your instructor and treated my child as if he were simply the problem. You did not appear interested in understanding what actually happened or in finding a constructive solution. Instead, you joined in criticizing my child. Then, rather than addressing my concern about how your instructor handled the situation, you suspended my child's classes for an entire month. Children--especially neurodivergent children--deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. If a child is struggling to follow instructions, the appropriate response is to communicate privately with the parent and work toward a solution, not publicly embarrass the child and then blame him when the parent raises concerns. Parents should know how situations like this may be handled here before deciding whether this is the right environment for their child.

I am a current student of Miss Elisabeth for voice lessons. I decided to step up and start taking…read morevocal lessons out of my bands desperation to find a singer. Although I have a long way to go and much room to improve, Elisabeth has given me the confidence to perform with my band and given me songwriting tips to create vocal melodies for our songs. Singing is very new to me being only a guitar player for years and has come with much frustration but Elisabeth has shown me nothing short of patience and care for my development as a musician. I'm very grateful for the team here specifically Elisabeth and James who have kept me motivated to continue to grow. Elisabeth is a great instructor as she creates lessons that specifically meet your needs of where you're at as a singer. Even if you're an absolute beginner like myself.. I am always stoked to show up for my weekly lessons! You'll be in great hands here

My daughter is taking violin and vocal, and my son is taking drums. Mr. Michel and Ms. Soraya are amazing teachers, and they are very professional and patient. One of my kids sometimes has a difficult time with focus. We tried other places before, and it didn't work for us. At the Dawn of Music, Mr. James and his team were able to adjust a teaching style to keep my kid engaged in music. And I will always be grateful for that! Yes, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn music.
