I've been here a few times to use the golf simulator with a group of friends. The overall space is really nice and open with multiple areas. My first time there, they had trivia upstairs and I grabbed a drink at the main bar before heading to the large back area where the golf simulators and axe throwing are. This is a great place to host and attend my Meet Ups. I hosted a game meet up there recently, and then I heard that they have some of their own games that customers can use. They have a lot of tables available and upon request can host you upstairs where it's a little bit more quiet. The food truck is awesome. I was there a few weeks ago and the chef personalized a dish for me based on my dietary needs. My favorite is when they host the Comi-Paws event with Ellen Woodward animal shelter. Can't wait to go back soon. read more

I usually have a great time whenever I go here. The staff are very friendly. The beer is awesome, which everyone already knows. They have a very nice merch area with lots of cool AleSmith and Padres stuff. The tasting/drinking area is nice and big, and has never felt crowded. Personally, I prefer a place and a vibe like this over Ballast or Stone, which have such corporate feels to them. read more

Parking: Easy, next to train tracks I love going to a dog-friendly brewery. We were attending an event here and were given a tour of the brewery. Great staff and beautiful space! We stopped by to celebrate my friend's birthday. She had reserved the private room. It was a beautiful room- very spacious and had a big screen TV in the middle of it. There's plenty of seating in the private room. The staff here is great! The bartender got me something non-alcoholic, on the house! I highly recommend you stop by to check out the ambiance and the baseball museum dedicated to Tony Gwynn. This place is awesome!!! My husband held a massive event here for about 300 people. The brewery allowed a food truck to be onsite for the event as AleSmith does not have a kitchen. So much parking and lots of space to sit. It's like a huge warehouse with a large patio area on the side. The bartenders are super friendly and service with a smile. Get the tasters so that you're able to try a variety of their beers. I like the lighter pale ales and with less hop. They have beers for everyone's taste, so try a variety. Came here for my Yelp BFF's birthday celebration. We had a really nice dugout room that was beautifully decorated. I had the Horney Devil taster beers and it was not bad at all. I went for a second glass. (I don't really drink beer) The outside seating area was nice and a food truck was parked right on the side. The tasting room is HUGE but my personal favorite was the back room next to the museum. Overall, a really nice brewery and I hope to return again soon. read more

I came here for a friend's birthday celebration and she had the dugout room reserved, so we had a nice private area all to ourselves. This brewery is very spacious! You can sit outside, inside, or even visit the speakeasy area next to the Tony Gwynn Museum that just opened up to the public. There was a lot of memorabilia in there! A lot of my friends bought flights of beer for only $8.50. I'm not much of a drinker and only tried a sip of some kind of beer from the birthday girl. It was pretty strong for me and had a nutty aftertaste. Despite not drinking much, I had a fun time here and like that there is a food truck parked out in front. read more

Date of visit: July 13, 2016 How come I didn't know about this place sooner? I had come out to AleSmith this past Wednesday to celebrate a fellow Yelp Elite friend's birthday - her husband had reserved the Dugout (private room) for the party. This brewery is very spacious and dog friendly - both the indoors and large outdoor patio saw quite a few pooches hanging out. The Dugout Room is quite cozy, with lots of sports memorabilia and awards that AleSmith's won over the years on display, and a large flat-screen TV in the center that is perfect to catch the game. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the mini Tony Gwynn museum in one corner that is full of his batting awards, rings, and other mementos of his career, and the "secret" Anvil and Stave barrel aged beer room that you need a password to get in (go on AleSmith's Instagram page; there's a pic that shows what the password of the day is). As it was their IPA Week, I tried a sample of their Sake AleSmith IPA - pretty good, and you could taste the sake flavors in it. My favorite of the night, though, had to be the San Diego Pale Ale .394, brewed in honor of Tony Gwynn - very smooth and refreshing! Paired with the food I'd gotten from the New York on Rye food truck onsite, I was a happy camper. Definitely a great place to stop by at Miramar during the week (even if I have a feeling the weekends get busy out in the area)! read more

One of a kind brewery located in San Diego! They provide some awesome beer and the interior of the brewery is really nice. I've been here a couple of times in the past but this review is my experience with an event I had here this past weekend. My fiancee and I recently had our engagement party at the upstairs mezzanine event space. Everything turned out great thanks to the event coordinators and staff. The decor and layout was amazing. I like how there were Halloween decorations throughout the entire brewery. It gave it a unique touch. There were plenty of tables and chairs upstairs for all of our guests. The bathrooms were super clean. I want to stay thank you to Melissa and Kayla for assisting me during the planning stages and the actual event. They were super helpful and answered all of my questions. Kayla helped me out during the day of the event and was very accommodating. She helped me set up and the event turned out great. But I just want to make a special shout out to Daniel our beertender throughout the event. He provided excellent customer service and was genuinely a pleasure to have upstairs. He was very attentive and helpful throughout the event. He gave great recommendations for all the great types of beers AleSmith provides (myself and quite a few others fell in love with Luped In IPA haha ~ go try it!). He truly made the event go smoothly and I can't thank him enough for that. AleSmith is a great place if you want some great beer and great vibes. My guests loved taking pictures upstairs and complimented how nice the event turned out. The cost of the space is well worth it in comparison to other breweries we looked at. I would definitely have another event here and recommend AleSmith if you're looking for an event space. Thank you AleSmith! read more

In yesterday for an LGBTQ event. (Thank you Alesmith for supporting the Community) Started out with a Cocoa nib, vanilla, coffee stout and then moved to the Barrel room. Enjoyed tasters of your barrel aged brews in a quieter more refined space. Your Eric the Red clone (in a good way ;) brew expert was personable and knowledgeable. My girlfriend and I were soon joined by several guys who appeared to be a wee bit surprised to see women enjoying bourbon barrel aged brews. She's a bourbon aficionado so putting her two fav things together is a real treat for her. Thank you to our bartender also for suggesting places for our dinner out later. It was a real hit. Love the barrel room for the more complex brews in a more intimate atmosphere. read more

My absolute favorite brewery in San Diego!! I always make it a point to come here whenever I'm in town. I love all of the different beers that they, but I will always give a rose for their Speedway Stout. I love that they have so many speedway variations at this brewery along with barrel aged options! The space itself is very inviting and staff are extremely friendly and always very helpful. I recently held an event here for my wedding rehearsal lunch and the process itself was smooth and reasonably priced as well. Have visited personally and used for small work events over the past few years, but just held a corporate event at AleSmith for 300 people. Aside from the obvious, which is an aesthetically pleasing location and one of the best craft beer selections anywhere, the staff at AleSmith is top notch. Melissa went above and beyond in preparation and planning, was accommodating for every request, and the entire staff was friendly, efficient, and ensured our large event was a success. Held a private event here for about 20 people and the staff and setup at Alesmith was fantastic. We were in the Tony Gywnn room which has a private patio. They allow you to bring your own food in, which is a great alternative to a lower of breweries who make you order off of their overpriced menu. All of the bartenders really took the time to make sure we were all enjoying our time and were familiar with the beer selection. Specifically, Daniel was great as was Melissa in events who helped us get the whole event set up! Their communication and professionalism were top-notch.
