Had a great experience with my 2011 return. Brought in my documents about 2 weeks before taxes were due. They were prepared within a few days along with my estimated taxes for 2012 all for a very reasonable price. I realized when I went to mail out my checks that I had missed a document and had to have the federal and state amended- totally my fault. Eric was great at explaining my taxes to me, lets be real... nobody understands their taxes!! But I do now! Eric was very through and answered all my newbie questions. I have done my own taxes in the past on Turbo Tax (such a hassle) and gone to H&R Block once before (they charge ALOT). I decided to take my business to TJO this year as my tax guy from last year joined their team. I received great service, my tax refund came back in less than two weeks from the IRS and State with obviously no errors and I felt that what they charged was adequate for the service. I've always done my taxes with TurboTax but decided to have a professional review them just to double-check. I chose TJO because of their good reviews and fair prices. It didn't take DJ long to find an issue with some stock sales, which when fixed ended up saving me hundreds of dollars; much more than the consultation fee. I also found the same error on previous tax returns, so I'll be getting a lot more back in refunds when I file the amended returns. DJ was also very responsive to follow-up email questions. I've been going to TJO since 2008. The reason I switched from my previous Tax preparer, H&R Block, to TJO was the expertise of the staff. I spent alot of time doing research on different tax preparers online and visiting the offices, since I had some complicated tax issues, like handling real-estate short sales and 1099 statements from lenders and the whole mortgage crisis. Talking to the TJO staff gave me the peace of mind to select them as my tax preparer. The staff is very professional, easy to talk to, work with, and the office is clean and organized. TJO every time was able to resolve all my complicated tax issues and file it in a timely manner. I was very happy with their work and not to mention the refunds, yay. I enjoy working with TJO and they will be my tax preparer in the future and the years to come. I highly recommend them hands down for any tax issues big or small. I highly recommend TJO and associates Tax preparation. DJ has prepared our tax for past 3 years and we were very happy with the service. He is very knowledgeable in this field and answers all our questions with patience . He is thorough and friendly. We received two letters from IRS for two different unrelated items in our tax preparation. IRS requested additional documents. So we contacted DJ about it. He followed up on that with IRS in a timely manner without us getting involved. Their prices are reasonable as well. It seems to me to be a business run by family. They don't have a full-time receptionist, but usually when we leave a message or email DJ, he responds to our call/email very quickly. read more

I usually think people take the time to write a review because they either had a bad experience or the person/company whose service they seeked went above and beyond. My experience with TJO was the latter, great all around service! I filled out the online appointment request form and within 10 minutes, Eric called me to schedule an appointment (by the way, their website is very user friendly and the tax preparation checklist on the TJO website is very helpful to collect all your tax documents)...On the day of my appoinment, I was greeted by their friendly receptionist, Nikki...my appointment was with DJ, he did an outstanding job with my taxes! These guys are good for basic tax preparation. But with Turbo Tax you could probably do it yourself and save yourself some money. For tax advice, not only do they not return your calls or take a very long time to respond but when you do get a hold of someone, and that's a big 'if', I find that they are not very tax savvy at all. If you need good sound tax advice, I would definitely look elsewhere because these guys cannot consultate. I also agree with Jesse S. They're customer service is horrible. They either ignore calls or they just take their time in returning calls. It's a terrible feeling and loyal paying customers should not be treated this way. I was worried where i can get a help to work in my tax return until a fellow co worker cory referred me to check out TJO near in winchester and campbell. I started read some reviews about this tax preparation and i am impressed of their feedback . So i called and set an appointment immediately and reffered me to Eric. Eric is the man knows about the taxation and the services. I inquired about the witholdings in my retirement and he answered very well. He handled my tax papers and done immediately without any issues whatsoever. Eric is highly professional, skilledful, knowledgeable and very friendly and supportive. I enjoyed my time with him and yes exactly 2 weeks he said i will get my tax refund directly to my checking account. I am glad that i have a place to trust and the person i believed will help me filing my tax return annualy. They did ok. I honesty thought they might be able to provide some trick to get my taxes lower but ultimately I could have done it myself on turbo tax. There rates are a little high but my taxes are so simple, it wasn't worth it. They were quick, professional and easy to work with. read more

I registered for yelp just so I could write this review. My fiance and I usually just do our taxes online via turbotax, but since we just bought a new place we thought we'd go get them professionally done this year. We were kind of nervous at first but DJ totally put us at ease. We got everything done within an hour (after exchanging quite a bit of small talk too and just chatting around). It was actually Valentines day, so some of the people at the office had their wives and kids over to celebrate. It was absolutely adorable. Everyone seemed so nice and friendly. It was a totally comforting experience. DJ even had us go home and look for additional stuff we could use as deductions that we never would've even thought about. These guys are the best tax experts i have EVER come across. I tried H&R block - and was very disappointed. I used to go with Turbotax up until last year- what a HUGE mistake. So, this time i threw out turbotax and went to TJO. I called and got an appointment the same day. DJ was great- he understood our situation completely. The entire appointment took about 30 minutes during which he covered every conceivable deduction. He knew his stuff- this guy made the whole thing look so easy. He made sure to consult the more experienced guys in case he was not sure about something- and that was only once. Since my tax situation was very complex- i moved from another state- there was a health insurance related caveat that we missed. So he called me up the next day and got that squared away. I had a question about my CA tax returns and emailed him- and got a DETAILED reply in 5 MINS. I would go with them again next year. I can confidently say that if i had gone with turbotax or H&R block (HELLLPPP!!!!) - i could never have maximized my returns like i did with TJO. Their refund was MUCH MUCH higher than the returns that turbotax was giving me. So - don't be pennywise and pound foolish- go with these guys and you will get a tax refund that is way higher than you can ever imagine. read more

First year they did taxes it was great. Second year it was the worst experience EVER! It took them 4 months to do my taxes. They would not respond to phone calls or emails. I personally went to office 6 different times, and each time it was closed. They finally responded over 4 months later and said the taxes would be done in 2 days. Then, I owed late fees and penalties which they figured into my taxes. However, about 6 weeks later, I received a bill from the IRS saying I owed more money in late fees and penalties since I filed so late. This place is a joke. Not sure what happened, but they sure went downhill. For the past ten years, I have received a sizeable refund. The last time they did my taxes, I had to pay $3,000 and they couldn't explain to me why. There are many other great tax people out there...stay clear of this one. read more
