About $8 USD..

It was ok a bit over priced to get a waffle cone added with the fixings to my ice cream.

Dulce de Leche

Nothing to interesting or fancy about this ice cream parlor. The ones in the states and Italy are much better. Flavor was dulce de Leche and it didn't really taste like dulce de Leche

Chocolate and pistachio gelato

We kept seeing this gelato shop everywhere, so we decided to give them a try. I got scoops of their chocolate and pistachio, which they topped with a chocolate rolled wafer. It definitely hit the spot since it was such a warm day out.

There are several locations here in Playa Del Carmen. We must have passed about 4 of them just by walking around the popular 5th Ave. They have a boat load of different gelato flavors. We were offered 1 sample for each of us. We decided on a medium cup with a scoop of hazelnut and a scoop of Bailey's. Very strong flavor and very creamy. They top it off with a small free wafer cookie. Total came to just under $6 USD.

Stopped by for dessert after dinner. Most ice cream stores were the same as those that can be found in the US! Aldo was something different so we decided to try it out. Turned out great with a good price!

Me and my sundae. :P

I really loved Aldo's. I know it's a chain, but they make great ice cream! I loved the booklet full of sundae ideas! It's a little on the pricey side especially for Mexico, but the service was friendly and the portion was huge. For my birthday dessert, my husband and I ordered a sundae with nutella ice cream, mango sorbet and strawberry ice cream garnished with fresh strawberries, pineapple and tiny cones filled with pastry whipped cream! I cannot describe to you how delicious the whipped cream is. I tried to ask what the flavoring was, but the girl insisted it was just regular whipped cream. It wasn't there was a subtle almond or french vanilla thing going on. My husband said it was a flavor he remembered from palettas he had as a kid. When we return to PdC, I'll be back!

Maracuyá gelato

Aldo's were everywhere, and when it's sweltering, nothing says relief like some gelato. A small scoop of passionfruit really hit the spot! Super friendly staff and definitely a great place to chill out and people watch in PDC.

Excellent quality gelato. Good selection of flavors and fair pricing. Many locations are located downtown. Pistachio and banana split are yummy!

To make it even better, the toppings selection is primarily healthy. Sure you can pick some indulgent options but this place clearly prioritizes healthy options & that I love. Located directly across the street from my hotel I stopped in nearly every day of my vacation. Even with loud & endless construction out front they were consistently busy & absolutely delightful. I highly recommend!

We were craving something sweet, and this was only a few minutes walk from our condo. The place is small, with minimal decor (including awkward-looking beanbag chairs for seating), but the yogurt flavors were interesting. I chose a delicious (and beautifully purple) taro flavor, while the dude opted for the Zenlicious (we're still not really sure what the flavor was, but it was good)! The staff fill your cup for you and then you can add up to 3 toppings. I chose dragonfruit pearls, crushed almonds, and Mayan (aka spicy) chocolate. It was a winning combo. If you're nearby and craving a cold, sweet treat on a delicious Playa evening this is pretty much your only option on Calle 38 - they're a great addition to the neighborhood.

Yogo Chango is not quite up to the standards of frozen yogurt places in the United States, with…read morefewer toppings and only the basic tart yogurt flavor available. However, for Mexico this place is good. The frozen yogurt there is legitimate frozen yogurt - tart and sweet. Not like the creamy stuff at Nutrisa. With a medium you get 3 toppings, a large 4 toppings. Plus as many sauces as you want. Both are under 90 pesos and the portions are rather generous. My one complaint is that the mango on my fro-yo wasn't very fresh, so I'm not sure about the quality of fruits. In addition to fro-yo, they offer other smoothies and drinks. So while Yogo Chango may a little on the skimpy side in terms of options, it's a solid fro-yo place in a country where real fro-yo is hard to come by.

For a treat where prices are more affordable for locals and holiday makers alike. You are made to feel like family. I can't wait to go again. Yogurt was good quality with fresh fruits, and adequate toppings to choose from. However if ur inclined to want a place just like any other place in the states with high end furnishings excessive amounts of toppings and more flavours of yogurt with American prices and impersonal staff try one of the other frozen yogurt bars. My kids loved it I loved it and grandma loved it. We went back at least three times in the short time we were there. Thanks guys
