Our Server was Miranda, who took such good care of us. Our reservation was for 12:30 pm and they were starting to get busier, but Miranda was so attentive and on it in every way. She gave us great service. The food was amazing, and everyone was happy with their entrees. We love Blanco's, and this is the second year we have been there for Easter Dinner. Good food and great service, and just a very pleasant vibe. Special props to Miranda, you are a sweetheart. Yes, we will be back again!

The restaurant was about half-full and bustling brightly indoors and on the deep shaded wrap-around patio. Our server, Branden, was one of the best servers we've ever had! Attentive and polite, even reading off the entire menu and describing highlights to hubs, who'd never been before. We were seated immediately at a booth table and brought complimentary chips and salsa. These are good fresh, thin chips and smoky mild-hot tasty salsa. Branden brought us a second round of chips and salsa as well. We ordered: - Coca-Cola fountain drink - Coke Zero fountain drink - SHORT RIB MACHACA ENCHILADAS 5/5 - Highly recommend - caramelized peppers & onions, yellow cheese, ancho chile sauce, cilantro. Served with sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice, & choice of beans. Classic enchilada sauce like how I remember, delicious tender shredded marinated short rib inside. - CARNE ASADA FAJITAS 4/5 (sweet soy salsa verde) served with blistered peppers, charred onions, jack cheese, guacamole, salsa fresca, sour cream, choice of beans & tortillas. Hubs said these were good. He did want rice with his meal so he ended up taking my rice which I didn't want. As you can see in the pics, the tortillas are scratch made in-house as well as the sauces and sides. Bar seating, booth and table, and patio seating available. Men's and women's restroom available for customers.

They weren't super busy so we got seated immediately. Our server David was very polite and attentive. He checked in frequently and helped explain some menu items for us. Shame he wasn't also on the menu because he looks like a snack. We started with the Empanadas with Chorizo, Potato, and Cheese. The appetizer portion comes with 5. These were very good, the dough tasted fresh like they were made to order. For our main entree we shared the Alebrije Parrillada for two. This gave us a good sampling of multiple meats and sides. Everything comes served in a hot molcajete. My favorite meats were the chorizo and the shrimp. My favorite bite overall was the toasted Oaxacan cheese. So good - I could've eaten an entire plate of just that. The rice and beans were decent, however the beans could have benefited from a little more salt. You can choose either flour or corn tortillas. My only qualm would be that there were some temperature inconsistencies among the various components. Some were borderline room temperature, like they had been cooked first; others were piping hot. Overall taste was great though. Will I return? Absolutely yes. If you're craving home-cooked style Mexican food that doesn't leave you feeling super heavy - this is the spot to try.

Upon arriving and being greeted we waited an inordinate amount of time to be seated. Chips and salsa were delivered to a large table but we were never told that was our table. So we just went and sat down. Apparently it was our table (?) Strange. We were given menus which were quite worn out, but at least clear enough, and we ordered drinks. Most of us had blended House Margaritas. They came in a beer glass which also was peculiar, but the Margarita was good. The menu leaned toward seafood, which frankly I wouldn't order here. I chose the Carne Asada dinner which came with the usual beans, rice, cheese, large grilled pepper, etc., and I got flour tortillas with it The meat was quite good and the meal as one would expect in this type of Mexican food restaurant. Portions were large. The service was fine. I wouldn't call it overly friendly. Overall the food was good, typical run of the mill fare, yet overall the experience was nothing special. I got the impression they just wanted to close up and go home.

We ordered Bean and Cheese Chimichangas with rice and beans. We brought the rice and beans home and just ate the Chimi's. Super big portions. Fried to perfection. Feels like a place you feel at home at. They run lots of specials and have a great Happy Hour Tuesday - Saturday / 3 -7pm. Enjoy!!!!

But the food wasn't for me. Here's what we got: Carnitas Taco - The pork was Juicy but super bland. Only had onions added and those were didn't help at all. Not a traditional carnitas street taco. Grilled Chicken Taco - The chicken was super dry and also bland. No real flavor. I drenched it in salsa to try and get it down. Drunken Chicken Taco - This taco was a bit larger than the other two with some melted cheese. The flavor is deep savory that borders on a Tex/Mex style. Not quite bitter but close. Chips and Salsa - These were good. The chips were not flimsy and appropriately salted. The salsas were good and not overly hot. I try a lot of tacos and Mexican food around the valley. This place was nearby to a meeting we had so that's why we chose it. I won't be making a return trip. There's a ton of great taco spots there but this place wasn't one of them. To top it off, the price was pretty steep: 3 street tacos and a water was just under $20. Yikes.
