It's got a semi-sweet cherry flavor and it's effervescent and very refreshing The Carolina Beverage Corporation, who make Cheerwine, which has the distinction of being the oldest continuing soft drink run by the same family. Since 1917, during the sugar shertage, they've been cranking out this burgundy-red color delicious soft drink with a cheery disposition and I discovered it in North Carolina when I was just 4 years old. Been living it ever since! It was just in 2021, they introduced Cheerwine Zero Sugar, it's the same great flavor but with none of the sugar. Coke from Atlanta GA and Pepsi from New Bern NC and Dr. Pepper from Waco TX and RC Cola from Columbus GA. Add to that list Cheerwine from Salisbury NC. The flavor is different with a black cherry bite to it. And no, there is no alcohol in this "wine." I used to drink my Cheerwine straight but sometimes adding a shot of Captain Morgan. The bad, some items are only seasonal so sometimes you might have craving for a specialty item that is no longer available. Also, at peak time, it may take a few minutes to open up additional registers to pay for your items, not ideal if you are rushing but if you are seasoned customer, you take it in stride.
