My bag had a nice mix, fresh produce plus things like bruschetta and tofu, which made it feel more like a full haul instead of scraps. Everything tasted fresh and still had good life in it, not like last minute clearance. The store itself is very clean and well kept. Produce looks vibrant and organized, not picked over. There is also someone in the back keeping an eye on things with cameras, and he was really kind when helping me out. Staff in general were friendly and the whole place felt well run. After this, I would actually come back and shop here normally, not just for Too Good To Go. Great quality, great variety, and a really solid experience overall.

You basically start at Fitzwater Street near Angelo's Pizzeria if coming from Center City. It ends somewhere around Passyunk Avenue near Geno's Steaks. It was initially established back in the 1880s by South Italian immigrants, but I think most people would agree that the businesses are presently more diverse. We saw Mexican, Honduran, Nicaraguan, Thai, and Vietnamese businesses alongside Italian and other more generalized European markets. It was a planned visit for us. I just had to try South Philly Barbacoa and Anthony's Italian Coffee House. We also saw the infamous line of people waiting to place their orders at Angelo's Pizzeria. Along the way, there were many colorful murals depicting the history of the street market as well as many delivery trucks with fresh produce. That's really the big draw to this area. There were many locals buying produce, meat, cheese, and imported grocery items. It doesn't stop there. Make sure to take a little detour along South Street as you're walking back to the city center. There's public art everywhere including Isaiah Zagar's Mosaic Home, Alley of Murals, and Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. You could pretty much spend an entire afternoon in this part of the city. Don't pass it up when visiting the City of Brotherly Love.

Not only was picking out our tree at Giordano fast and easy, we also spent less than any other year in recent memory. I pulled up curbside on Washington Ave and nervously turned on my flashers. Yep, I was that girl, but thankfully didn't get any angry honks. Within five minutes, we selected a great-looking tree with a pleasant bluish hue (a blue spruce, I'm told). We paid just $45 plus a nice tip for the young guy who eagerly helped us out. Our tree was loaded onto the car and we were off. The tree is absorbing water quickly and it smells fantastic. The needles are definitely sharper than other trees we've had in the past, but I don't plan on bumping into it too often! Great experience and we'll definitely consider them again next year!
