Forgot to look at receipt till I got home and saw I was charged. $7.99. Disgraceful. The lunch was good. The employees are very nice and helpful. I feel sorry for customers with carts full of merchandise getting up charged, big time. From now on I'm going to eat lunch occasionally. I'll consider Hyvee as a convenience store to purchase the one item to run in to buy. More expensive but CONVENIENT for the 1-2 items you have to have. Otherwise go to Walmart for regular shopping. BTW is very nice that all your stores offer to Round up the purchase to the nearest dollar to give to charity the change. I suspect the motive is the huge tax write off Hyvee gets with those small contributions thousands that add up! If in the rare event I make a purchase at Hyvee I'll skip the round up. I already do my own charitable giving. It's also interesting how Sale signs are everywhere in sight. But nothing is on sale, really. Across the street Walmart has the same merchandise at a lower price.

ha 2:00 pm friday…read more BIG store.... the asian deli had good looking food for mid day... bakery was what i came for.. nice gals working in there! and large bakery for a south iowa hyvee... ancient grains breakfast bread is what i came for. they had some just off the cooling racks. cherry donut holes... not near as good as osky jaarsma bakery.... they were super busy or i would have liked to shop in there... looks like they had a real good bulk bins style food section.

The atmosphere of the Amish people driving horse and buggy, boys in suspenders and straw hats while girls wear their bonnets and traditional dresses, the courtesy the men show, clothing hanging on the clothesline, bare feet, fresh produce - I love it. We stopped by the grocery store to pick up baking supplies for cornbread, rhubarb jam, and butternut squash. Most products sold in the store are packed in bulk. It is such a wonderful experience to be amongst the Amish. Please be respectful.

It's so flavorful and tender that I honestly don't have the right words. And their bacon? OMG Every cut I've purchased has been fresh, beautifully prepared, and incredibly delicious. And the prices? More than fair. You truly feel like you're getting amazing quality without the inflated markup. Recently, I had a small mix-up with an order. I placed and paid for what I needed, and when I got home, I realized a large cut had accidentally been included that I hadn't ordered. I called right away, and the owner was so kind and flexible about having me bring it back (even though I live about 20 minutes away). When I returned, he didn't just "fix" the mistake. He went above and beyond. He refunded the $54 for the large cut and generously added additional packages of meat -- including more of what I had originally ordered. That kind of service is rare. It felt thoughtful. It felt personal. It felt like someone who truly cares about his customers. The assistant was also helpful and kind -- you can tell this place operates with integrity from top to bottom. Exceptional quality. Affordable pricing. And service that genuinely exceeds expectations. I will absolutely continue supporting this business -- and recommending it to anyone who values both flavor and heart.
