I went into Aldi to pick up a few item & especially needed 1 gallon water. There were none in sight. Cashier asked and Gabriel bought out a pallet of water. It had cans of soda on top of it & he originally said it would take 15 minutes to empty and set up. Gabriel could tell I was impatient and was able to immediately get me a gallon of water. Absolutely the trashiest Aldi I've ever been to. Typically like Aldi & Lidl however I will never be back to this one. Visited on a Sunday 10/22/23. Shelves were barely stocked, especially the meat area. Immediately was annoyed coming in as there was someone with their dog who kept barking. Wasn't a service dog. In fact, the dog was so badly behaved. He kept pulling his owner and barking. Felt like we stepped into Petco/Petsmart. Asked a male associate with long hair and he said "it's easier to let them do what they want than to address them". Well ok then. So we had to bare through the constant yelping and barking as we went from aisle to aisle. Did self checkout and 2 checkout registers were littered with groceries that people just decided they didn't want anymore. A manager with her pants 2 sizes too tight was just standing around with her mic piece but not addressing anything. Oh and I'm not sure what kind of security this guy was doing, but he was too busy hunched over on his phone to be paying attention to anything going on around him. I was accused by the security guard of not scanning some paper towels that were at the bottom of the cart. First off, he didn't even tell me what the issue was, but just started standing behind me and my mother, which was really uncomfortable. When I asked him why he was hovering there he said that we didn't scan the paper towels. I showed him my mother's receipt where it was scanned, and he didn't even acknowledge the receipt or that he was wrong. He continued to stand there and stated that he would take all items that weren't scanned. Again I told him what are you even talking about? I'm in the process of scanning things still and my mom just paid her items and you can see the paper towels paid on there. Such an embarrassing experience. I already emailed corporate, but not sure if I'll be back...can't even enjoy my Aldi finds right now because I am so frustrated. read more

So I FINALLY made it to the infamous Aldi where I hear ur buck can go a lonnngggg way! It's true people it's true! I am not sure how they manage to keep their prices so low in a very inflated society but I ain't complaining!! I was about to get full meals and snacks here about a weeks worth for under $100 bucks! The layout of the store reminds me of LIDI a bit. I'm not sure if it was just this location but they were kinda low of inventory but I did get here late so that could have been why. If I had one critique it would be the checkout system. One line for all checkout stations it kinda makes things hectic. Also if a cashier checks you out the put your groceries in an Empty cart and then tell you to leave your cart them in doing that you have a bunch of folks standing around bagging their items near the door. PROS: - large parking lot - they have the basics covered - good frozen pizza options - lots of fruit options - variety of cheese selections CONS: - very little veggie options - almost nothing organic - lots of processed foods - everything seems half stocked Decided to try this place out because one of my friends raves about it and said she liked it better than Trader Joe's. Okay, so I am not a fan of this place. Unless you like to eat processed foods there is very little options for you here. While they have the basic produce they have very few options and limited quantities so everything always looks half stocked. They have a good size frozen food sections with good pizza options and while they have lots of fruits they have very little veggie options and little to nothing is organic. And while there is nothing wrong with it, to me this is more akin to a glorified bodega and dollar general store combined with some added fresh produce. You can literally find the same things at both a bodega and dollar general. If you like off brand, processed, canned, or frozen foods and don't like to cook much then you can find everything you want here. read more

For the last three months I try to come as early as possible but they are going out stock faster each week. These vans of "retailers" decimate milk, butter and produce! You see them with flats of strawberries, pineapples, carts of bananas, milk, etc. I complain all the time that the individuals who are struggling to save a dollar are being screwed because of these people. I'm blessed that I can afford to shop elsewhere but it is visibly a BIG issue. Even during the crazy food price increases, they fed families around the area for cheap with good food. To everyone complaining here. People, it's 2021. You should read up on "Aldi 101" before shopping. No they won't pack your bags for you. Yes you have to pay your deposit for your cart. Didn't pay for your cart? Not your regular supermarket. I would only shop here for smaller items definitely not a full shopping trip. A lot of packaged goods not enough fresh produce. While there two of their aisle were being restocked and employees had big cargo carts blocking the entire aisle. Remember to bring your own bags or you will be charged 6 - 10 cents depending on which bag you choose. Their checkout isn't so great the cashier just dumps your purchases into the cart not even the bags. I can see this being a future problem and long lines in the waiting. It's okay but definitely not a staple store for me. read more

A great place to visit if you don't actually need a selection of food or if you just have plenty of free time to stand trapped behind carts in an aisle. Cashier was busy trying to go on break and rang up something I didn't want... and in order to get it reversed she needed to call a manager. LOVE Aldi! It takes me way less time to shop here than it does at any other supermarket. The prices are really low and we end up spending about half of what we would any other store. I love that they don't give you bags! It helps the environment by encouraging people to bring their own bags and helps keep their prices low! I also think the quarter system for their carts is really smart- it prevents people from leaving them all over the place... another way they can keep prices so low! I make about one big trip here every week or two and pick up small things in between at other supermarkets. God bless this place- I wouldn't be able to afford stuff like goat cheese and prosciutto anywhere else. Helps me eat well and not pay like I do! read more

Let me tell you about my terrible experience in ALDI located in John F Kennedy blvd North Bergen New Jersey. We always buy in ALDI we have tried different ALDI branches and we never had any problem with them before. This is the first time in my entire life that we were treated wrongly and we were screamed at. We came in this store to buy a few items then after awhile they said they are gonna be closing so we hurried up in the cashier. I fell in line, there was a family infront of me while my husband went back to get bottled water. I saw one cashier looking really mad and impatient so I was thinking maybe she wants me to go to her register but I was not sure because there was a closed sign across the conveyor belt of her register. So I nicely asked first if she is open. She annoying said why are you ready???! While her eyes rolling but I let it slip and continued to put my items then she left for awhile fixing some papers and talked to this girl. I thought she was in a hurry so I don't understand at that time while she went to their brochure section to fix them. Anyway she came back then she told me "give me the card". I gave it to her then she screamed at me the Caaaaaart!!(It was to bring it infront of her so she can put my items) I told her you cant scream, that's rude! Then she got defensive and mad said many thing then she keep saying I'm not rude!! I told her that I will speak to her manager. She replied manager? Okay! Then she called his name I think the name was Will. She briskly walk screaming his name. Will! Will!! This lady wants to talk to you! She said this with confidence- in a way that she knows that the guy will be on her side and its not a big deal. She doesnt even respect him maybe he is scared of her or there is something between them. Or they just know they will be on each other's back. Idk because usually you will be more respectful to your manager. So I told the manager what happened. He said that he cant talk about this infront of the other employee he will speak to her in private and that he is neutral he wont take sides. Woah! From that I kind of feel that he wont do anything about it. Usually managers will listen to you and will assure you that this wont happene again. So I politely asked if their cameras have voice recorders. He said yes and I said great because in my mind I'll just report this to their company directly. The woman cashier also one time also talked in their language to him so that I wont understand it but I told her you can talk about me whatever you want. Apparently this woman just wasnt trained how to be polite or respectful. She also told him that my husband keeps getting items from the back so when my husband heard this he said that "my wife is already on line and there were still many items and so I hurriedly took water." From her statement it was clear that she was just really annoyed by us and that is why she was rude. I feel discriminated also because she talked in their language infront of us that I have to call her about it. Plus Im sure this happens a lot during closing time so does she do this to other customers or just because we are Asians?! No being rude especially when when you to this many times in a row we wont tolerate. The guy manager redid the transaction and I told him that the popsicles are not mine. I saw him took it and put on the side. We left then I checked the receipt to make sure their was no popsicle and to my surprise #1 it was there!! I went back to the store immediately and mind you this was the last thing I wanted to do because of my experience!Imagine the stress! I asked the manager why he scanned it still despite of what I told him and that I saw he took it back. I decided to record because I feel like they were doing this on purpose and they dont have accountability of their actions. As you see I didnt scream at him, my voice is louder maybe than his because the phone is in my face but I wasnt screaming at him. He keeps saying that I'am and that I have an attitude and he wont be talking to me if I keep doing that. Basically he wants me to shut up. And clearly basing on his choices of words like telling a customer that she has an attitude but clearly I was just complaining about how they keep putting an item I dont want in my tab! Who wont get annoyed with that?! This is all caught on their cctv. Im confident saying this because they have cctv and I was raising the box of popsicle up while I was in the register saying its not mine! Some things at Aldi are good, some are terrible. Good: Veggie sticks Hawaiin rolls Ice cream Shredded cheese Minute rice Canned beans Granola bars Bad: All meats (frozen hamburgers were awful!) Includes bacon Couscous Produce Peanut butter cups/chocolate I don't get why people are complaining about the cart thing. You get your quarter back people... And on average this store saves you like 30 bucks on your weekly shopping. Bringing your own bags is better for the planet. Bring a cloth shopping bag and go nuts! read more

This place sucks! Sorry but it's the bitter truth. I was gonna slide with the fact "ok it's off brand stuff that's their thing".....but two choices for juice grape and cranapple? Weird! And I just got home and realized the oatmeal pies I bought are expired. This place doesn't check their inventory that is so scary. No I can't go back now they are closing in 10 minutes. Shakes my head. After I get rung up the cashier asks would you like a bag.....I look down and then back up like umm yes. So they expect you to carry all these items in your arms? She places the bag in the cart. They don't bag for you...this isn't a wholesale place so idk why they wouldn't bag. I definitely won't be shopping here ever again. This place is nice and usually less crowded. They have lot of good items. And also some organic selections. Not many choices in food but way better than cheap quality stuff you get from Walmart or Target etc. They have plenty of cheese options. (Surprisingly rennet free - awesome). Although they have three lanes to checkout. Most of the times they have single lane open, which makes checkout slow. I like that they charge for bags. (This reduces demand and consumption of thin plastic, good for our planet) This place is ideal for makeover into only organic market. Avoid Walmart, target etc. You will like this place. Well being such an avid consumer I was curious, as I had never been in an aldi before. This location just opened in my neighborhood. I made a stop in on my way to Shoprite and was so impressed by the prices I decided to do all my shopping there. Eggs- $1.99 a dozen, milk- $2.77 a GALLON, butter $2.49, pizza dough-99 cents, I could go on and on this is just a sample of what I purchased. The store was well stocked, clean and their array of snacks, candy, cookies, trail mix set my eyes aglow.The staff was friendly and helpful. I was impressed. I love trying and reviewing new brands. The whole grain bread at $2.49 is delish, molasses cookies 89 cents for 10 cookies awesome. I got alot for my money which made me HAPPYYYYAAAHHHH (I said it like that too). This is a no frills but nicely laid out store. Bring your own bags or boxes to carry your groceries out & a quarter to use a shopping cart (which you get back) This store is a nice addition to the neighborhood with different choices than the usual grocery store. ALDI is still dependably cheap, but I wanted to leave an update because they now accept credit (yes, not just cash/debit anymore!). I was also impressed the last time we were in the store, the two cash register lines were long, so they opened up a third line. We were out in 10 minutes (compared to 30+ spent in ShopRite getting fewer items...thank you for the better service and wide aisles, ALDI!). On their products: Still loving the organic vanilla soy milk, fat free greek yog, and cheese--their dairy section is impressive for a store with limited selection. Produce is hit or miss, but the key really seems to be that whatever is in season will be fresh, which makes perfect sense. We don't have a problem getting the fixings for salad here. I'm meat-free, but my partner enjoys ALDI steaks. We have taken to buying the $1 baguette and freezing it in pieces; heats up perfectly in the toaster oven. Be careful around the white cheddar crackers (they're addictive!). Noticed that the maple crème sandwich cookies they carried this holiday season looked & tasted exactly the same as the Trader Joe's maple cookies--for ~$1.25 less. Still hoping they'll bring back the chocolate caramel shortbread from Scotland...mmm.... On the bag/cart situation: We avoid the hassle of a giant cart + paying for bags by simply bringing reusable bags with us. This is what everyone should be doing everywhere to stop contributing to our landfills, so I love that ALDI "forces" people to be a bit greener. Generally, there is a big pile of boxes near the register closest to the door--If you forget bags, you are welcome to grab whichever boxes will best hold your items (please recycle them when you're done). You can also grab boxes as you shop (for instance, we just bought 3 containers of milk, and simply carried them to the register in the box they were already in). Instead of getting a cart, we just put our items in our bags as we walk around the store (quick & easy, and works your arm muscles). Yes, it can be annoying when the cashier sometimes puts the items into the cart instead of your bag/box, but I wish everyone would understand s/he is acting to maximize his/her efficiency--their job is just to ring stuff up as quickly as possible. It is then on you to either put your stuff into the bag/box at a similar speed (usually what I do) or take the cart over to the packing area to pack up your groceries. Personally, I feel this minor inconvenience is a small price to pay for quality food at a fraction of the price anywhere else. read more

The service is poor and the cashiers are extremely rude. My first experience there I had my bag to place my groceries but the woman refused to hand the scanned items to me. I only had 5 small things. She just shoved it in the cart also hitting me with the cart. I reported the incident. I decided to give the store one more chance (even after the lame apology and speech about that is not how they treat people, from a regional manager). This time I had a large opened shopping back in the cart so that the items can go right in. The woman not only just dumped the groceries any which way she wanted to in the cart when I asked her to place them in the ginormous IKEA bag (remember the bag was wide open. The way she dumped the food in the cart it could have been "dumped" in the ginormous bag.) she just started dumping it where ever in the cart as long as she was putting them in the cart. She gave zero___. I proceeded to place them in the bag and then she starting dumping groceries on my hand, just piling it up. There was no one else on the line by the way. Went there during a small snow storm. Place was nice and clean and empty. It was my first time in an Aldi store. I expected too much. It was smaller than I thought...a lot of brand names I never heard of but would give a chance. The worst part about this store was the cashier. As I stood on line there was only 1 worker who looked like she was the cashier but maybe not because she was cleaning up a "returns" cart. She never even looked my way and took her about a minute to come over. Now I get why they charge for bags...but are they supposed to help you bag it? Again, I only had 4 items. She put my things on the edge and my Gatorade bottle accidentally fell. The cashier did not say a word. Do I get another free of charge? Or am I out of luck and have to buy another? I had to ask. They wound up letting get another bottle. And as I left I said "Thank you". I was ignored. Maybe if she help me with my things the accident wouldn't have happened. This is the one of the best supermarkets I have been to besides Walmart. I needed up here because my local supermarket that's 2 minutes away closed and I my sister and I was craving salmon burgers. The food is packaged neatly. The produce is fresh and the aisles are huge. The neighborhood is VERY VERY VERY SKETCHY when I went at 9:15pm. Thank god I took an uber to go and and uber to leave. I signed up for Yelp* just to respond to some of the negative reviews, and to give my opinion. So to the neigh-sayers. You guys are hilarious! "The cart is a quarter to use, they only have one kind of grape juice, they won't bag my food.." Please. Step back, and understand what's happening here. You are saving a TON of money at this place without sacrificing quality. It is NOT a standard grocery store, and it doesn't pretend to be. You won't find the same selection, you won't get bag service, they won't bring it to your car, you do have to return the cart to get your quarter back. So what's the upside? ALDI sells mostly their branded products. With very little exception, I have always found their products to be as good as the name brand equivalents. In fact, a lot of their products are made by the name brand companies and repackaged for them. Don't like paying $3+ for a box of cereal? Me neither, I pay half. Quality whole grain bread for $1.50? Yes please. Eggs for $.99 a dozen all the time? Yes! Organic Milk for half the price? Sure! My recommendation to anyone.. Go to Aldi and buy your staple products. Get them for half the cost. For everything else, go to your favorite main-stream or local shops. To the neigh-sayers. Open your eyes, understand and appreciate what they have to offer. read more
