Took the time to stroll through the entire location to check out the inventory. Excellent selection of garden stuff, Amish food items and produce. I will definitely return. My main issue was that the price of each item was not clearly shown on the label of each product. In addition, a description and price of each individual product purchased was not listed on the sales receipt. It was also not easy to determine who was employed there and available to answer questions. The young lady who worked as the cashier was not cordial or engaging and didn't appear to be thrilled to be at work. She spent most of her time looking at her cell phone. I am considered "old school" and grew up at a time when cell phones were not available for use. I am also employed by a company that prioritizes engaging the customer. First thing I look at when I enter any food establishment be it grocery, restaurant, deli, etc. is the floors. If the floors are clean, chances are the place is clean. Conversely if the floors are dirty I run, not walk, out. Ok so the floors are very clean here. When entering this Superlo, the deli is the first department you see. The work area behind the counter is very clean. I don't usually buy anything from the deli because I know how to cook and make a sandwich. Moving into the produce area, all the basics are covered. You won't find anything super fancy here but it all looks fresh and tastes terrific. Meat department is hit or miss for me. They advertise specials a lot and I'm guessing they sell a good deal of product. The ground meats all looked the same to me this visit. For those of you unfamiliar, ground chuck, ground round, and ground sirloin are supposed to look different due to the different levels of fat in each product. This all looked like ground chuck but labelled differently. A little unethical in my opinion. Super Lo doesn't carry every brand under the sun but national brands are well represented as well as private label. I rarely buy private label with the exception of the gallon ice cream. $4 for a gallon of ice cream is a steal and I love me some ice cream! In conclusion, most of the employees are really friendly and helpful. The prices are the best in the Memphis area, and the store overall is really clean. I make homemade beauty products, so I can get my essential oils, glass bottles and carrier oils at a reasonable price. I love the selection of vitamins, wholistic products and accessories too. The have apparel, plant based protein powders and a smoothie bar with a large menu. The staff is very knowledgeable of their merchandise. I had several of the staff offered to assist me during my visit there. They even made recommendations that cost less than the items I had selected. It appears they aren't money driven but want their customer to have the best item for their needs. My next visit I'll have a list of what I need so I'm better prepared. It's a bit overwhelming and the pistachio flavor did get lost in the chocolate. The quality definitely reflects the price though. Now, would I come back and get this again knowing it's $13.99 for a small cup? I'm still debating that. Maybe every once in a while when I have a craving for some GOOD quality chocolate. The lady there was very sweet and she gave my son a chocolate square that had some crushed nuts in it. So much better than any milk chocolate I've had.
