My go to store that most of the time I find most of my wanted and needed vegan options. Prices are reason and a lot of the time you can find name brand items there. Certainly give them a try. The staff for the most part leave you alone which I am fine with, just when I need something please make sure there is someone to ask for help. read more

This Aldi location is terrible. The customer service is just horrible. In particular the store manager, Darla, is probably one of the worst and inconsiderate employees there. I shop there often with my son, and I still use the stroller since we're in a pandemic and I don't want him to get the germs from the grocery cart. So I carry all of my groceries in the stroller and in 2 recyclable bags. That particular day that I was there Darla did not allow me to take the grocery cart that she had sitting next to her to push over to the side and pack my groceries (most of the other employees always allow me to do that). She made me stand there in front of a line full of people and pack all my groceries right there at the cash register using paper brown bags (which is very hard to do since there is no way to carry brown bags with your hands). So I was trying to hold bags in my arms, pack groceries, as well as push the stroller, and make the purchase. She was very rude and had no mercy and just sat there and stared at me. The lady behind me had no mercy either and was upset that I was taking so long. I guess nobody cares about mothers and babies anymore. It was very embarrassing. Not sure if it was because I am black and look poor or what, but I am not. I am just a SAHM. I am educated and can make VERY GOOD money when I need to. I'm a licensed white collar professional that works in healthcare. I will be telling everybody that I know to not shop there. Including the Facebook groups that I'm apart of with thousands of people in them. I would rather go to Kroger or Publix where the customer service is better or I scan my own groceries. There is also another rude young blonde up front (she's a little new) that got upset that I asked her to allow me to watch my groceries being scanned so I could see the prices. Sometimes they ring up wrong so I like to make sure I am not overpaying. But she had an attitude as well. Goodbye Aldi and good riddance until you get self scan checkouts. read more

I have been shopping at the Aldi's in Douglasville since it opened. They recently (last year?) increased the size of the store, so it looks like I am not the only one. :) What do I love about Aldi? 1. There are very few aisles because there are not so many choices of brands. Let's face it, who needs 20 brands of the same bean? or the same pasta? or milk, or butter or meat or fish or frozen everything! 2. The low prices are a good reason to shop all by itself. Those low prices are due, in part, to asking the customers to take care of their shopping carts instead of hiring someone to round them up all day long. (This also keeps the carts from taking parking spots.) The quarters we have to use to get a cart is just a way to thank us for a job well done. :0 3. The products they carry are very good quality. Like the German Soups (the Bean is to die for). Like the Whipped Cream. Like the Dog Treats (no I don't eat those.) Like the "Surprise Aisle" where there are non food (mostly) items replaced every week. (I have bought knives, bird feeder, drawer separators, porch sliding bench, etc. It is fun to see what is offered and also how much stuff I don't use that someone else must care about. ) I do still shop at the box stores for certain items that I'm addicted to. (like cereals, pickles, activia, rotisory chickens, coffee (they got rid of organic in strong coffee; peanuts, ice cream, chips, Tea). But I usually shop here first and then go to the other store for what I cannot find at Aldi's. 4. The parking lot is small so it is every easy to get the groceries to the car and into the street. 5. The staff are so friendly and so knowledgeable. They don't sit around and wait for another customer to come to the register because there are shelves to stock. 6. The men's bathrooms are always spotless. Says alot about anywhere I go. (yes, pun intended) :) 7. I even like bagging my own groceries. a: I use Aldi's inexpensive bags. I get to cut down on throwaway bags and so does everyone else. b: I can organize the bags according to how I will put away the groceries. (Refrigerator, Freezer, Cupboard, Paper Goods, Cleaning Products, etc.) c: I can bag faster than any paid employee can. d. It speeds up the line tremendously, as the checker simply puts the items in my basket. e. What's not to like? 8. Aldi's also has an island consisting of several freezers that hold "new" products. This is one of the fun things about shopping here. "What's behind freezer number 2?" My inner child loves to try and figure out what in the freezers I might like. For example I just brought home an veggie pizza to die for. And I was born in Naples, Italy, the birthplace of the Pizza! I also went to Aldi's website and raved about it and asked that they put it in the "regular" freezer. Another example was the Belgium waffles I bought on a whim. My wife and I loved them. Just stick them in the toaster. Put on a plate. I added whipped cream on top. My wife likes maple syrup. read more

This is one of my favorite plces to grocery shop in Douglas county. The store is leaps clean, the service is quick and fast, and the shelves are stocked with product. The isles are wide and the store is very well lit. Bonus- the prices are almost unbeatable. A great shopping experience all round. Do you not look for name brands when you shop here, but the off brands are still very good. I have not tried a product I did not like. read more

This my spot! They have a lot of high-quality items inside of off-brand packaging. Which I don't really have a problem with because I don't plan on eating the carton or box that the food came in. I'm just tryin to save some C-notes and one day be able to retire in the Caymans. Most of the staff will talk to you and there are few who will not!... but I'm cool with this because most times I just want to be left alone and forage for food like a savage creature. You have to have a general idea of how much certain items are going to cost to know if it's a good deal or not. You can "ball out of control" poppin bottles of milk and dropping cartons of eggs on these haters!.... because it seems like the milk and eggs are always on sale. Yaaaaassss! These folks are usually on point with the fruit and vegetable selection. ..... when it is time to check out get ready because they're going to THROW your groceries into the shopping cart like Matt Ryan to Julio. Even with that being said it's still better than going to Walmart..... where they have 317 registers and only 3 people working them. Finally, the best thing of the whole experience is someone in the Aldi's finance department finally grew a brain and in the year 2016 they accept VISA/ MasterCard cards! read more

I have been shopping at Aldi since the late 80's when I was in college in Chicago. For a college student, single person or a family on a strict budget, Aldi can't be beat. The difference between Aldi and Walmart, is you never need sales to save at Aldi. Also, always check out their special buys for merchandise like shoes, computers, cameras etc. These special buys are always top quality and much cheaper than equivalent items at any other store. Some items can be found in bigger quantity for a better deal at other stores. Comparison shop always. read more

I get what a pay for whenever I visit. I do not buy all my groceries there, and the produce and meat selections vary from day to day, but we have decreased our grocery bill by twenty-five percent since we began buying there three years ago. Their store brand canned goods and pasta, rice, flour, sugar (or sugar substitutes), frozen goods, and dairy products compare favorably in quality to anything I've ever used. The meat and produce areas, when items are available (usually within two days of stocking cycle), are very reasonably priced and good quality as well. Some produce I buy "on spec" since may times these items will ripen naturally in time (avocado, bananas), and Aldi always has grapes that are thirty to fifty percent less than Kroger, Publix, or Wal Mart. Regarding their checkout lines, I have had to wait as much as five minutes to checkout, which once it begins is an extremely rapid process, well thought-out and executed, and aided by the fact that they have very few keys they have to hit and no scanning is involved. The cashiers sometimes might be a tad abrupt because as soon as no one is needed for checkout, they get up and perform other tasks. They don't get to stand there watching other cashiers ringing up groceries. All in all, we've been very happy with our experiences at Aldi, and are thrilled at the money we are able to save. read more

I love this place. Price wise its great. You can always find great deals on fruit and veggies. Grapes on sale for $.99 lb. Gotta loves that. The workers are friendly and helpful. I have visited Aldi's a few times now and each time I see the same results. I do end up buying just a few things each time, but really not enough to warrant the gas I pay to go there. I would say 90% of their items can be found at Walmart for a lot less in cost. Their eggs are a bit cheaper, but I have noticed they do go bad faster even when I place them in the refrigerator. Each time I go to Aldi I end up having to return one or two items because of the quality of the product; either the fresh bread was stale, their eggs were bad, or their frozen foods and canned goods tasted horrible. I did find one product that did taste great and the price wasn't too bad, but when I went back the next week I was told they no longer carry the item and they didn't know why it was discontinued. It is true they carry very few items in their store and the majority of their products give you just one or two choices such as cheese or chips. It is not quite true that they do guarantee you can return the item and receive another one of the same price and still receive your money back. Twice now I was told that they will refund my money but that's it. The other times I was told they can refund my money but I have to choose the same product as replacement since the cost of the item I am returning has to match EXACTLY to the item I wish as a replacement. I told the cashier, if I didn't like the first one why am I going to like the same as a replacement? She said if I can find another item in the store for the same price that would be fine. I looked at the prices in the store and I noticed all the prices are all completely different from each other. Maybe they do this on purpose. So, I all I got was a refund. It has been awhile since I've been to Aldi and I probably will not be returning. It's just not worth it! For those of you that love this place good for you, but for those that aren't sure whether to go there or not, just one tip for you. Don't go there expecting great savings on a lot of products and a big selection of all the items you need. You will still have to go to Walmart, Publix or Kroger to get most of your groceries so why spend the extra gas going to Aldi to save a few cents? read more

Aldi's has some really great prices, but not everything is a good deal. You just have to know how much it usually cost you elsewhere. They often have really low prices on milk, though the limit is 4 per customer. We always stock up and freeze it when milk is on sale. One of the cashiers seems to have a bit of an attitude, but everyone else I've encountered there is nice. There can sometimes be long lines, so if you are able go in the morning. They open at 9 a.m. Important things to note: you have to pay a quarter to get a shopping cart, but you get it back when you return it, you have to bring your own shopping bags or be prepared to purchase bags, bags are not free, finally they DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS or checks. They take debit cards and cash only. read more

This is a great store for values. Even though they don't carry a lot of brand names, their store brands are very good. The checkout people are very fast and the lines go fast. You do need a quarter for a cart, but it is returned when you take the cart back. You also need to bring your own bags or llok for boxes or pay for bags.
