Volunteered to drive to Menard's to get parts and pay for them, with homeowner reimbursement. Took homeowner's suggestion on making the door more stable in high wind by adding a second hydraulic door closer at bottom of door. At Menard's Tyler bought necessary parts to install both door closers and provided homeowner with store receipt. Returned promptly from store and completed the work. Invited homeowner to inspect completed project and determine if parts installation and door function were done properly and if the door worked well. Door works great! Tyler then provided statement of parts and labor and total project cost. Tyler completed entire project (including trip to store) in two hours. Also suggested other projects he was qualified to do. Tyler of TJH Contracting LLC is a gentleman and trustworthy. First experience with TJH, but I have already hired him for two more jobs at my home. He is a North Dakota Certified Handyman. I have requested a refund of the amount paid minus the work completed and have not received a refund nor heard from Dave in 3 weeks. Requested full payment for a siding house and garage in June. The job didn't get started, left…read moreseveral voice messages on his phone that he didn't respond to, he finally came and started siding the garage but dind't finish it. In October we are still trying to reach him for a finish date on the project. The siding and other materials have been sitting outside in the rain and snow all summer and fall. Some siding and other materials are now damaged. Last week he came, unloaded the rest of the materials for the job and pulled his work trailer off the job. I again tried to contact him with no response. We have had him in past years, shingle a house and put windows in and he did a good job in a reasonable time frame. If this job is to big for him he should have come to us and told us so we can find another contractor, Except he already has our money.

Make sure they personally inspect and know what equipment and materials are needed and it all arrives for the job with the service man. Make sure there are enough service men to do the job themselves otherwise you'll end up needing to help and your time will be wasted. Frankly, there is no Craig that I know of. Subcontractors are apparently hired by them and you pay for higher labor costs than you should need to. Frankly find someone else to do your projects or repairs.

The sub-contractors (they found through craigslist less than an hour before the project was to be completed) did finally show up and did not have the correct information from the company related to the job. What concerns me is that this company would hire someone at the last minute though craigslist without checking references or doing a background check (I know I would not have had people do work around my home without checking references). I was lucky to have had a couple honest individuals complete the job to my satisfaction, but how about those clients who are not so lucky??? Who is to say who could be stopping by your home hired by Craig's Handyman Service and what type of backgrounds do these individuals have. The contractors who did the work came back the next day to inform me that Craig's Handyman Service is refusing to pay them even though I paid my bill is full (which was much higher than the work should have cost). Looking at the research, this type of behavior from them is not uncommon. I can go on and on with more details, but won't waste anymore time on this. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
