My wife and I couldn't be happier with Anita and the team at Alcorn. Anita and the entire staff are some of the most professional and empathetic people you'll ever find to trust with something as important as navigating through the immigration process. No question that retaining their services was worth every single penny not just because of their comprehensive knowledge of immigration law and efficiency in preparing all our paperwork, but in terms of reducing our stress and ensuring the smoothest possible immigration experience possible. I could go on and on about how they adeptly handled every part of the process, but just the amount of preparation support and having Anita actually there with us to get through the immigration interview alone was worth far more than the fee. Anita, we'll forever be grateful to you! read more

It is my first time working with them. The case was handled in a very clear manner so I understand every step they make during the process. They inform me potential challenges ahead so I get clear of what to expect and make a right decision with their professional guidance. My H1B transfer case is a success with their help. Could not be happier. read more

The team at Alcorn has been exceptional to work with. They are consistently available to answer any questions and meet up for a video call to explain any issues I might have. The United States immigration policy is complex, convoluted and really difficult to understand so having a talented and prepared team like Alcorn has been nothing short of amazing. The amount of work they put in is immediately noticeable and only outmatched by their friendliness and understanding of how deeply personal and stressful this process can be. I have never felt in safer hands and even when there has been bumps in the road along my immigration journey, I feel confident that with Alcorn behind my back, I will reach my ultimate goal of having the security of peace of mind over my status in this great nation. It is for this reason that I recommend Alcorn Immigration Law with no reservations. read more

Sophie and her team at Alcorn law are amazing. I have used multiple immigration firms over the last 5 years, and these guys are hands down the best. I wasted almost 10 months with a previous firm, before moving and having to start again with Alcorn. I opted for an expedited service and turned the whole thing around in 8 weeks. Everything they do is extremely organised and they use modern systems, unlike some firms that feel like they are stuck in the 2000's. A+++++ read more

I initiated an EB-1A with Alcorn in 2018 and I found them to be a small group of amazing lawyers who genuinely cared. They have a reputation to be a little more expensive than average but when it comes to immigration I don't mind paying for quality. Sophie, Mary and Anita were always flexible and their team is genuine and helpful. Over 3 years, I saw their team churn a few times as my case was handed off to different individuals. I have also seen their response times be slow at times but potentially that is a seasonal thing. Due to my employer, I ended up changing my plans to pursue my EB-1A and requested we wrap up my case after drafting my recommendation letters. To my surprise, the final bill was about 6x what I had discussed for that phase and I wasn't given a breakdown of the charges. To their credit, they did give me a 50% discount and we settled at the amount I had already paid - still 3x of my expectations. The entire conversation was professional but when I shared my surprise at the final bill they never responded. I would recommend working with Alcorn but I would push for transparency around the milestones and charges in writing as plans can change. They can be unreasonably expensive and they won't offer explanations. read more

During the periods from April, 2017 till November 2018, 1.5 years, I kept asked them questions but they just picked my phone 2 twice. I ask all the details how to go through the process and they are clueless and mislead me the wrong way, wasting me 1.5 years without any edit on my materials. It seriously delays my case and lose my legal chance. The last time I talked with Ms. Alcorn, she finally says she hires another Mr. Wang to deal with eb1a case. But Mr. Wang refused to talk with me. I would like to say, they charge money and provide no service. I consult other attohenries, it usually takes 2 months to complete the case. Ms. Alcorn's team is incompetent and cheats me in their way, which I cannot tolerant. read more

I utilized the services of Alcorn through our start-up company. They helped me get my VISA - H1B transferred within 6 weeks when I was in a dire need of it. They were always quick to respond to and clarify any questions I had. All the employees were friendly and approachable. I would definitely recommend Alcorn to businesses and individuals for their immigration needs. read more

I consulted them regarding immigration status for a startup. They gave me no information over what i can google myself. I even followed up with email. They were deflecting me to take an option that i didn't want to take. Also I didn't want a lawyer to state that option. I wanted them give me legal know hows, but she gave none. I don't think they are skilled more than usual H1-B. Update: I tried reaching out to their office gain after they responded to this review. There was no response. They just wanted to look good by posting a thoughtful caring response here. They just waste immigrants time. Update: May 5. She released a TechCrunch story to save her image. This is the problem with this society. All these lawyers ripping off of immigrants and have access to media to silence others. What she wrong in this article is nothing more than what I googled to find out before. But these people are not capable of executing any complex legal moves that other lawyers have done. They weren't even interested in replicating it. This is all about how one could make money. Easy business model is to file H1B and that's the only thing they do nothing more than that. Also "Be kind to your attorneys -- you will need their support to navigate this process!" too cheap way to make immigrant subservient to incompetent lawyers like this firm. Techcrunch is really cheap. Allowing anyone to run a story. https://techcrunch.com/2021/05/05/dear-sophie-can-i-transfer-my-h-1b-to-a-startup-i-founded/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9uZXdzLmdvb2dsZS5jb20v&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAI1RXAkRJ4SLWTN50jLPqisiGMaICStAx1L41IET_4LzOHLrn9Zvf2eodKkY0Lo1R3bVXdABrCYT6ybqQAyjQjX-EDGhQP-caRwMXUP4cetNa2naaeh8P-RhIrIGPvvrJRJvSvYTk6jKep9Jgoh7vPTrWsftdnJ-eqPg6RFKQujC read more

I am a family member of the beneficiary of an H1b Petition. Our RFE was handed over to Sophie's team, I want to say: 1) Many other law firms who charge a similar price may handle the H1b petition in a standardized procedure, like the work on an assembly line. They try to reduce cost and they take the approval as granted. But this firm does not. They treated your petition with great care and thoughtful writing. This is especially important in today's political air. 2) Behind every case there is an American dream, a family involved. but not all the law firm see it that way. Sophie's team does understand the struggle of a family behind every case and her team is very supportive. 3) professional, accurate, precise, careful and really deserves a high hourly rate. read more

I would absolutely recommend Sophie and her team in a heartbeat. She helped my wife and I navigate the tricky process of applying for a Green Card, starting from working our way through the J-1 visa waiver process through to filing the Green Card paperwork itself (as well as coming to our interview with us). Throughout, she and her staff were friendly, jovial, and clearly experts at what they do. It is difficult to overstate the peace of mind my wife and I were able to have by working with someone that is so knowledgeable about such a complex process. Thanks again! read more

Sophie, Aleen, Irene, Nina and the rest of the team are amazing to work with. 11 months ago, my husband (then fiancé) and I scheduled a consultation to find out more about our options. We ended up retaining their services immediately after, and have not regretted it since. They are clearly experts who are very knowledgeable and efficient, yet warm and personable. Our paperwork was immaculately filed and we had (still have) their guidance and support throughout the entire process. I highly recommend including the mock interview option as this was something we chose not to do, and because of it, may have contributed to the slight delay of my green card approval. To summarize, I highly recommend Alcorn Law for any and all legal advice and assistance on immigration. They are fantastic. read more

Sophie is a superb Immigration Attorney. She helped me through the final stage of my work based Greencard application. She's definitely the best lawyer that I've had represent me throughout my career. She is prompt, she is responsive, she is very thorough, and is willing to take as much time as is necessary to walk you through the process. She was even able to catch some errors made by other lawyers in the original application and thanks to her my Greencard got approved. Her rates are also reasonable and she definitely earns it with the great work she does. Given the wonderful experience I've had working with her, I honestly don't see myself looking for any other immigration lawyers in the foreseeable future. read more

Navigating the immigration system is a daunting task. Anita and her team were incredible in guiding us through the process and were always there to answer questions and provide advice. Whenever I had a question, they would respond promptly via email and/or scheduled a call to discuss. They provided clear guidance in terms of what needed to be done, setting timelines and providing thoughts on how to best present our case. If you are considering hiring an immigration attorney, I would highly recommend the Alcorn team. read more

This 5 star is given to our attorney, Jeff Huang. He helped us a lot in the green card process. For this company, I have mixed feelings, we gave up the first free consulting and paid to speak with Sophie because of the good reviews and so many rewards/honors she has, our case is complicated, we worked with Sophie at the beginning, it was disappointing, slow response, unclear answers, no much useful information, almost impossible to schedule phone with her(always full in schedule), we were really upset until our case handed over to Jeff, a relatively new hire in the company. Jeff was really patient about our endless questions(yes, we asked tons of questions) in every phase of our case, and gave us very detailed, reasonable and professional advise, responsive, and make us feel a lot better in this stressful process. No doubt Sophie is an outstanding attorney, but it means nothing to you if she has no time for you, it is understandable that as the owner she is super busy, I have no blame on that, Sophie did good job as the owner to hire good attorney, I would highly recommend Jeff. read more

I turned for help to Alcorn when I received Request for Evidence for Removal of Conditions from my Green Card based on marriage to U.S. Citizen. Originally I filed for removal on my own and my marriage was no longer in place, so I was worrying for the conditions to be successfully removed. I came for consultation with Anita and she explained to me what would be needed and how the process would go. I provided as many evidence as I could and requested to look at the final package before it gets sent out to USCIS. I was pleased to see how professionally my case was put together. I had a good feeling about it. AND, to my biggest surprise, in just a month after submitting the evidence, I got a notice that conditions from my Green Card were removed WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW! Great thanks, Alcorn Team, for doing a great job!!! read more

I worked with Sophie on my wife's green card application case. Sophie and her team did an amazing job in being extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. Their friendly yet professional support gave us true peach of mind during this immigration process which can be full of uncertainties and waitings. The team did an excellent job generating the error free application and helping us prepare for the interview. Even the investigator was impressed with the paperworks we provided during the interview and explicitly stated that Sophie "did a good job putting everything together." I have worked with many different lawyers in the past and Sophie is definitely one of few lawyers who would not throw bunch of legal terms. She would kindly explain and try to make her client truly understand the situation even though it takes up her time. Working with Sophie was one of the most pleasant experience working with other professional individual and yes, I highly recommend Sophie and her team with great confidence. read more

Sophie Alcorn is an amazing immigration lawyer. She is a credit to her profession, which is sadly strewn with unwholesome individuals more often than not. Sophie will put her heart and brains to work for you from the moment you talk to her. She helped my friend with a visitor's visa(B1/B2) after he had a rejection on his file (214b) from the Chennai consulate. She helped put a package together with a G28, I-134 , a letter of introduction and supporting documents. She advised on specific wordings to be used in my invitation letter and on the DS 160 clarifying ties with home country and intent to return. Inspite of her packed schedule, it took her a few seconds of scanning to find my misplaced comma and my naturalization certificate number error. She works like a charm, pulling documents together, checking, scanning, rechecking, its almost like watching an artist at work. In spite of my not having the exact documents she required, she worked with what I had. She was always in communication via email and phone. She coached on how to approach the consular officer with confidence and how to present the documents in a way that got them noticed. She understands the cultural differences and has great empathy for the applicants and their friends and family. The result, friend got his tourist visa approved. Thank you Sophie ! read more

Sophie is terrific! She helped me to navigate a fairly complex documentation issue and get the situation resolved. Thank you, Sophie!

Sophie Alcorn provided me with excellent service. She was very honest and transparent throughout the process. I just had to meet with her once in person to explain her the case after which she was very prompt in following up and providing me all the necessary documents over email. One thing I'm always wary of is extremely high fees charged by lawyers, but Sophie was very reasonable in what she charged and I did not need to negotiate at all. In fact I was surprised that she ended up charging lower compared to the initial quote over phone since the case ended up being simpler after she heard all the details. I would go back to her any day for immigration related cases and would recommend anyone to at least consult her and find out if the case is in her area of expertise. read more
