The overall experience: unprofessional. All the advertising, though they printed the flyers, were done by family, even though he tells you he will handle that. We were informed that the crew would bring all items up from the basement, in which that didn't happen. We were told the crew would clean up the tractors before sale, that didn't happen. There was a lot of things this company will promise you that they will not do. The way this happened brought a family closer and not in the best way. We also had to do clean up after every one left! When the auction was said and done, I had never seen any one pack up and leave as fast as they did. Also, we aren't supposed to have to wait around until 9 pm for people to get everything that was purchased and help them load these things onto their vehicles and trailors, or even the next day! It says on the flyer that it should be settled and removed that day, and some one from the company should be there to monitor that! Be wary please, especially when you are doing this for a loved ones benefit! My advice: if you are currently dealing with him, back out now. Do not deal with Marty Wegner and Wegner Auctioneers! If could give them negative stars, I would.

One time I had an issue with a carpet cleaner that was sold as working condition and the tank had a small crack, I was given a full refund and got to keep the item. Mr Cole held an online estate auction for my parents from 6/14-6/29/2025 and we were initially…read moreimpressed by his "salesmanship" boasting about his use of technology and the various marketing platforms he uses as well examples of past campaigns. His contract we "thought" was pretty straight forward, 18% Seller commission, 18% buyers premium, no advertising costs to us and $18.00hr labor charges for "EMPLOYEES". We signed a contract and waited for the auction tally results. It was then that things went very south. He went straight into business mode. I purchased a few items back from the auction that my parents decided they wanted to keep. I asked Mr. Cole if he would waive me paying the 18% buyers premium and he said no. That was the 1st flag. We had requested an auction P&L report from Mr. Cole. What we saw in his employee labor breakdown was 79hrs @$18.00hr for Steve Cole? That was the 2nd flag. Never did Mr Cole indicate that he classified himself as an employee? Wording on contract simply stated Employee labor and an amount. Coles Auction Service, he's the owner/operator/auction caller/marketing/photos/listing, aka "owner" and therefore shouldn't be charging the sellers 18% commission and charging us for his labor as well? There's how he's paying for the marketing that he claims is no fee to seller. That was the 3rd flag. He included a $500.00 charge for tent rental that he determined would be needed. Contract made no mention of seller to pay for tools or equipment to support the auction. That was the 4th flag. I challenged through our attorney and he withdrew that charge. Also, the T&C in the auctions pickup advertised pickup on 7/1 & 7/2. on day 1 or 2 he decided he wanted to extend a 3rd day pickup. That meant labor for 4 people for 6 hours? I challenged that through our attorney and he "graciously" offered a 14hr labor concession, but he was still charging 69hrs labor for himself. Ironically enough Mr. Cole has decided NOT to include our auction (The Dellele Collection) on his past auction websites? This after he was boasting that this was a premiere auction and that this auction had the most hits on all active auctions sites in Michigan for the week of 6/23? He has past auctions posted right before and after ours? So after spending many email attempts to work with Mr Cole, our attorney sent Mr Cole a notice to attempt a settlement. It's now into August and we have not cashed Mr. Coles check and through all the anixeity and frustration my parents were having over this, the next step was through the courts. It was my parents decision, certainly not mine to let Mr Cole get away with questionable business practices so this review should be considered as "buyer beware". His Salesmanship appear to be more important than his morals.

Having purchased a couple items in the past I thought their service had improved. This time I…read moreparticipated in an option and it wasn't made clear at any point that the auction item was to be picked up at a location other than the usual. The owner of state it was placed on the website Thursday morning of the day the auction closed. However I didn't visit the main page of the auction site just my bid pages, therefore I didn't know. When I called to find out if they were available for me to pick my item up I was informed the address would be on my final invoice. According to the owner even though my initial invoice sent and was received as normal the other one kept bouncing back. Therefore they charged me a fee for transportation of my item. Despite my attempts to explain that not picking up the item at the address of the auction was not my fault, and I had in fact communicated with them and tried to obtain the address; they didn't care. Therefore I will no longer do business with them because something's always a pain in the ass with these guys.
