They have some really cute little things to play on, such as a little helicopter. The day that I visited, there were a ton of toddlers having a great time here. There's also a ball field right next door. On the sign, it's actually not called the South Hamilton Park, and I was confused if this was the same place. The other name for the park is "Palmisano park." But then when I looked at the sign regarding making reservations, they do indeed call it the South Hamilton Park.

Playground has been moved to the edge of the bird sanctuary -- apparently in the belief bringing closer the hollering and jumping six-year-olds will attract the birds to return. The playground was moved to a formerly grassy overlook of the bird sanctuary, and the grass was bulldozed under concrete walks and large spongy carpets (permanent) of blue-green, close shaven astro-turf (honest, come look for yourself). There were no birds today, but perhaps they haven't read the new sign or learned to appreciate six-year-olds on astro-turf. When you come to check-out our renewed and improved bird sanctuary, please bring a bird with you.

There are actually numerous play areas that are age appropriate for different age groups. The "preschool area" (for ages two through five) includes a sand and water play feature, spinning bowls, kid-sized sitting ducks as well as Clapper Rail and Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse nests that echo the importance of the neighboring marshland and its wild residents, swings, a tricycle track, and shade structures. The elementary area (for ages five through twelve) includes a sand and water play feature that's representative of a creek, a 17-foot climbing net, an 8-foot climbing wall, and a turbo slide with a mini-overlook. There is a large a remodeled bathroom, several new benches and picnic tables scattered throughout, a redesigned amphitheater, a new overlook that offers stunning views of Corte Madera Creek and Creekside Marsh as well as an outstanding view of Mt. Next to that there is a fenced in play area. The play area has two playgrounds for younger children. The ground is covered in sand. There is a super small play structure and one that is a little trickier that has monkey bars and a chain bridge. There are also two swings (no bucket swings)--one is very low to the ground, and one is slightly higher. There are some picnic benches around the outside of the play area, and there are two public restrooms available. Overall, this is a pretty nice park!

2023/123 Everytime I…read morevisit Novato , this is my to go to park for a walk with my granddaughters and their parents. This park is located nearby an elementary school. It is about 1/2 mile walk through a very serene neighborhood. It's clean and fresh atmosphere with play equipments , climbing rock sculptures, a stone bear in a sandbox and picnic tables. The creek offers a burbling sound while traveling along the beds over rocks and tree roots. A lot of trees surrounding the park give the park a feeling of a rain forest. A Tepee jungle gym and a canoe offer a make believe Indian scene plus a full size sculptured bear lurking steadily on a sandbox. Stand up Hoops that serve as water sprinkler with a push button during the hot summer months for fun.

Flabbergasted by all these 5 star reviews...? I've been to many Playland's in the greater Bay Area…read moreand I have to be brutally honest, this Playland in Sausalito, California is by far the worst. I traveled all the way to Playland Sausalito from the South Bay with my 5 year old son for my cousins 5 year old son's birthday party. Upon exiting and making a left her and a left there I found myself driving through an old, dusty, shoddy, dirt road, with barrack style bungalows up into an old, spooky gymnasium. I'm assuming they're using 'Playland' in the school's old gymnasium. Is the school still open? I do not know, but from the looks of it, I doubt it. Just looked run down and unkept to be actually open on a day-to-day basis. I'm giving Playland Sausalito a 1 star review because mostly everyone from my cousins party ended up catching either the flu or some variation of the stomach bug that's been going on. Depending on if you were an adult or a child that kind of dictated your symptoms. After calling and asking around if anyone else from the party got sick I was not surprised to hear that, yes other people in attendance got sick. In addition to getting sick, the overall venue was kind of run down and seemed like it's on it's last leg. A few inflatables, a few balls to kick around, 2 pop-a-shot basketball hoops (one didn't work), and a cold gloomy atmosphere. Nice! I understand what Playland Sausalito is trying to do in terms of providing a safe fun-filled place for children to have parties and hang out with friends and family but if children and adults are getting sick than that's defeating the purpose. Maybe it was a one time thing or others have gotten sick at this establishment but I think lack of attention to detail, sanitary practices, and overall kind of just a dingy, ordinary, throw a few balls and inflatables in here and call it a 'Playland' is lame and dangerous. Also, when I called Playland to ask a question as to if they are open or not? (says they are closed on Yelp unless it's a private party), the guy that answered the phone said "Hello".. LoL, not "Thank you for calling Playland how can I help you" so I had to ask the guy "Is this Playland?". Not professional dude. In hindsight, as I was oblivious of what was to come the days after the party, I made a comment to my cousin that they were having another party right after us and I didn't see them doing any kind of sanitary wipe downs or anything. Yikes! In conclusion, I probably won't be coming back again and if you were thinking on planning a party for your little one here, I'd look around some more for I'm sure there are other venues that offer more bang for your buck. Do I recommend, No.

This is a really great little playground. It's mostly geared towards younger kids but it does have…read moresome fun unique pieces, included a spider web shaped climbing structure. There are picnic tables and plenty of shade trees. The nonglamourous side of this review is the bathrooms, but I wish I'd known. Most places in downtown Point Reyes are quite small & don't have restrooms so you are directed to these at the park. The bathrooms are quite bar bones here, but they are well stocked. I was pretty grossed out by them, but they were getting very heavy use. There are only four stalls for both men & women, but there are portapotties as well if you can't wait.

There is a nice Mosaic of tiles with kids hand prints and names.( I wish I knew more about this but I am new to the area) There are 2 children's swings. A couple of little(sit in and move it with your feet kind) cars and plastic toy see-saws. I do not know what this is called but, it has 4 tall polls and a rope like net is hung between for the kids to climb like monkeys! The play area has 2 slides, 1 tunnel slide, 2 steering wheels, a mini rock wall, and a swirl pole to slide down. A picnic table and a couple of benches are available for seating. This place is not as big as the park in Fairfax and in a sense I like it better. It is less crowded and seems to be more intended for small children. Most of the 'caretakers' are mothers or fathers and not a nanny who sits on a bench while the kids raise hell.
