This Albert Heijn store is styled AH To Go, down to the fact it is located inside Beurs Metro Station.
WARNING: They don't accept Mastercard, Visa, or even cash here, it's Maestro only, this meant I had to put my shopping away and go elsewhere after getting to the checkout, as they don't have any signs to warn you either. This means if you're visiting from outside of the Netherlands, and are unlikely to have a Maestro card, you're unable to buy anything from this store.
It may not be the most modern/exciting of AH stores, but it is in a useful location in Rotterdam, especially if you're getting the Metro. The prices here are higher than other Albert Heijn stores because of this, so if you have more time, you may want to visit one of their other locations which are a couple of minutes on foot, away from this one.
For tourists, Albert Heijin is the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands, it's pretty much a brand you can't hide from and it seems they have stores everywhere you look with almost 1000 stores in the Netherlands.
The store was reasonably small but had a decent section of essentials including drinks in the fridge.
2* - I hate how this place doesn't accept anything other than Maestro Cards and you don't find out until your payment fails at the checkpoint with no warning signs around the store... you'd expect more in 2022, especially from a supermarket in a key metro station in Rotterdam, where many international tourists are likely to visit. read more
