When Sydnee first appeared last year, she was very vocal about change and supporting students. She stated she once was a student there and her experience there allowed her to identify areas of improvement. My experience with her is that is far from the truth. Sydnee doesn't perform any research nor does she fact check. She just blindly regurgitates what Elizabeth feeds her. My son is in a unique position and has aspirations for which he has set goals. While trying to reach those goals, Sydnee and Elizabeth have only worked to hold him back with hard stops. They are not helpful at all. You would think your academic guidance counselor wants students to succeed and instead of delivering hard stops, they will use their discretion (they have levels of discretion) to find ways and create opportunities to support that students success. If you are able to get your children into a different district. Please do so. You will not regret it. If you are not able, please listen to your children, the teachers and staff lack integrity.

I was denied by his teacher Ms. Ming to see him and denied to see his speech therapist Ms. Lisa. I canceled speech therapy because of being denied. When I spoke to the Principal Marla to write a report she only gave me blank paper said there is no report documentation. I asked for her email to document the incident. I scheduled a meeting with the Principal and Ms. Ming. I asked for an emergency IEP meeting. During that meeting they blamed everything on miscommunication and they said they will work on doing better in the future. Also, they keep the gate at Ms. Ming's class room 2 open during the beginning of school instead of keeping it closed like the sign states on the door gate. In addition, the front desk's welcome sign is a troll with gold around it, clearly their value on families and children is lost here at this school. I hope that this school can work on all their problems to do better for the community. Families need to demand better of the Teachers and Principal at James W. Marshall Elementary. There was one great outstanding person at this school and that was Amber the Teacher's Aid in Ms. Ming's classroom. Thank you Amber!

I spoke with the front desk lady, Leanne around 9 am asking if could bring my son by later to meet his new teacher and see the classroom. We agreed on a time however, when we arrived she stated that she forgot to tell the teacher then asked me to wait while she tried to fine the teacher who was hopefully still on campus. While we were waiting 2 children were caught trying to run out the gates. She had to chase them down and put her arms around one kids waist to get him to come back in the quad. So chaotic! I never received any welcome packet, no paperwork we just started. So weird. Would not recommend. Wholeheartedly would not recommend!

Being a graduate of Cordova High, Class of Eternal Youth, I remember running laps around the parks's duck pond and enjoying all the shady trees and nature during gym class. The campus is very open and sprawl. Multiple buildings housing difference class subjects , are surrounded by mature evergreens, shady leaf trees, lush green grass, and neatly paved walkways spotted with benches to relax on. It's a good size campus with lots of room for sports activities. I saw a huge base field, football stadium, track, basketball, tennis courts , and more. It's pretty fantastic that the city of Rancho Cordova has such a well maintained campus. I see it as a positive atmosphere where young minds can thrive. Various athletes and media people have graduated from Cordova and moved onto huge success. You know Lester Holt from NBC... yup successful Cordova grad. And you know there's obviously me... :)
