There is a great kitchen, bar, spa, and numerous other facilities. Housekeeping is superb. There is always someone making sure each and every guest is well cared for. The property is clise to the Hellbroner Teleferic which makes it very convenient for mountaineering. It is about a half hour walk down to the village of Courmayeur. But the hotel offers a shuttle if preferred.

Great hotel in Courmayeur Italy…read more Not the most luxurious but nice and comfortable. A family owns it and you can feel the love. Great little bar with places to sit, chat, talk, read. Their morning breakfast is legendary here. Amazing Buffet.....so much so that you are not allowed to make anything to go ( I could have made some killer croissant sammies for the trail....sigh) Great location right next to the main shopping district and many restaurants. This hotel maybe able to pull off mediocre quality on occasion but not during our stay. To begin with we were not able to reach the front desk of the hotel. We called at least 5 times. We left a message, the call was not returned. Upon arrival we waited at the front desk for approximately 20 minutes until service arrive. We attempted to make a reservation at the restaurant. We were told there were no reservations available. Then we were informed there was a dress code (We were both on very nice Patagonia clothing, button up collared shirts an khaki pants. As we had been on the Tour Mt. Blanc). Once in the room it was slightly dirty but not too bad. We both showered and discovered the water was luke-warm for my wife and mostly cold for me. I brought this to the attention of the front desk. Within 15 minutes the front desk women came to the door and asked if she could feel the water. My wife was naked and in the bathroom. I asked her to wait outside until she was dressed and finished. I shut the door. 2 seconds later the desk attendant was banging on the door as if she was the police and demanding to be let in....At this point we were fed up with the staff. We went and had dinner at a very nice hotel 5 min down the street. W asked them If they had a room available and they did. We went back gatherEd our belongings and left. I would suggest that all American travelers seek lodging elsewhere. Especially if trekking and skiing. This place simply is not up to the standard of a luxury oriented hotel.

(Of course the other French patrons were EXTREMELY rude to us). Even without this, it was an AMAZINGLY fresh breath to be in Italy and in this hotel in particular. Giorgio and his wife were immediately welcoming. They showed us to our rooms and welcomed us to enjoy the jacuzzi. When we asked if there was a store nearby where we could find material to fix my husbands hiking boots that had started to fall apart, Giorgio took us back to his workshop where he had the boots glued back. Then we were gifted with an amazing cheese and meat platter with our drinks. The jacuzzi was exactly what we needed after our 10 hour hike today. I can't say enough about how Giorgio and his wife made us feel as if we were truly truly guests in their home. Even the music was catered to what we liked. My biggest regret is that I am not staying here for longer. It would be my greatest pleasure to return here in the near future to spend time in Hotel Svizzero with Giorgio and his wife, whether it's a mini TMB tour or for some wonderful skiing. Can't wait to return!!

We were looking for a hotel close to Mont Blanc at a reasonable price. The hotel can be hard to find, especially at night as it is not well lit and the hotels and inns are very close together. We had to stop and ask for directions. Once we got directions we found it fairly quickly. The hotel is rustic. All of the rooms are wood paneled and the keys are cute. It feels like an Alps Chalet. The rooms are nice sized and the windows all opened up which was nice since there was no air conditioning. Unfortunately there were no screens on the window so we did get some very scary looking bugs in the room which for us insect scaredy cats made the night uncomfortable. The hotel manager was very nice. There wasn't a lot of car parking but there was enough. There was also breakfast but we did not get up early enough to try it. There is no Wi-Fi available. To get to the hotel from France you will need to go through the Mont Blanc Tunnel. It is about a 40 Euro toll to go through the tunnel which is very long. From the town it was a very short drive to Mont Blanc and the skyway from Courmayeur is less expensive than from the French side. If your looking for a reasonably priced hotel and don't mind some bugs if you want some cool air, this hotel will be fine.

The view is spectacular. The staff were fine, not overly welcoming, but not rude. The rooms were okay, no A/C and the windows don't have screens so because it was hot and we had the windows cracked all sorts of bugs flew in. NOT FUN! A fan would also be great. The hotel and the town were very quiet, almost too quiet for me. There is plenty of charm at this hotel just don't expect many amenities. Also the beds were not very comfortable and the pillows flat.
