Over $400 USD for a consultation by a nurse for a few stitches. We were told it would be $2,500 USD minimum. We don't have that type of money. They informed us that we could leave after we've been discharged. After a very long wait and no one showed we finally convinced someone to let us pay the "consult" bill and leave. Then comes our saving grace Cruz Roja (Red Cross). It's a first come, first serve concept. You really need to know Spanish or have a translator for the billing/signing in. The doctor was very friendly and better transparent. It was rather refreshing. The pricing was upfront. The stitches were 480 MX (~$24 USD) and we were in and out under an hour. We were told of prescriptions to pick up at the pharmacy as well. Honestly, a major blessing. Fair warning - it's pesos or credit card only

The hotel that I was staying at recommended that I go to Hospiten, but I read many bad reviews of them overcharging tourists ($5000 USD) because the resort and Hospiten have an agreement to scam tourists. I went on Yelp and found Cruz Roja Mexicana, and took a taxi to the clinic. There were a lot of people, but the doctors and staff were efficient and quick, and treated my boyfriend swiftly. They gave him an IV and prescribed medication (he was in the clinic for about an hour and a half), and we were able to pick up the medicine at the pharmacy right next door. The treatment itself cost about $30 USD, and the medication was about $15 USD, much less than the hospitals nearby. Overall, I would highly recommend this clinic if you are having an emergency and need treatment ASAP. I would suggest having a Spanish speaker with you, though, as there was only one person working that spoke English in the clinic and they were quite busy.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Diego who was very helpful and friendly. He gave me a brief tour of the box and was very impressed by how clean and organized it was. Equipment was in very good condition. Also met Roberto, who I believe to be the owner, and the person that messaged me the day before. Super cool guy, with a great vibe. He even offered to pick me up the next day because our hotel was on his way. Lol Drop in fee was $15 and also bought a T-shirt for another $15. Typically when I drop in to CrossFit boxes they waive the drop in fee when I buy a T-shirt, but I was fine with it. Only reason I gave 4/5 stars, but no biggie.... I imagine he gets a lot of drop ins, so I get it.

Not only is MVMT a beautiful gym, but their staff is ridiculously welcoming and helpful. I've been doing crossfit for about 4 years and enjoy dropping in to other boxes while traveling. I…read moresearched for a box in Cancún and found great reviews for Crossfit Revolver. A quick email to Roberto (he responded promptly on a Sunday) and I was all set. Made the 10:00 am class on Monday. They have a mobility area upstairs, and a weightlifting area downstairs in addition to the main area. Roberto was running the class and explained the warm up, strength portion, and WOD in Spanish and English (for me). Three important things to note: 1. The equipment was all modern stuff - air assault bikes, concept 2 rowers, etc. things we generally see in the US. 2. They have AIR CONDITIONING! A big plus since it's humid and warm. 3. The coaching is solid. Roberto noticed a few of my bad tendencies right away. All in all, a great place to drop in for a WOD. Their drop-in price was $25/day or $35 including your choice of shirt. From my hotel (Westin Lagunamar) it took 2 bus rides ($0.60 USD ea.) and about 30 minutes travel time. You could also take the bus to Kilometro 0 then cab it. It was a nice little adventure w my girlfriend taking the busses. (One bus on the way back had a mariachi singer providing entertainment for tips!) Oh, they are also a Crossfit Affiliate (according to one of the trainers, they are one of 3 in Cancún). If I ever come back, I'll be sure to drop in again.
