if you are a remote learner, stay away. they do not answer phones, do not help, do not respond to emails. Worst experience.

I've been going to this school for four years now . So please hear me when I say this school is extremely disorganized. During my first year it seemed as if they were more concerned about parties and drugs than academics. Later on in my second year I came to confirm that statement. Every year there is over 20 students that die on campus and there are various breaches of security that students are left unsafe in their own dorms. I knew a couple of students on east campus whose front doors to their dorms were broken and they waited months before their service ticket was answered and fulfilled to fix the door and in between that time homeless men were coming inside of their dorm at night and sleeping on their couches....you read it right . HOMELESS PEOPLE! They were scared to even stay in their own PAID dorms . I left campus that year and went online because so many students were experiencing rape, substance abuse, alcohol problems, and just feeling generally unsafe. Not to mention we are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for this experience. My professors barely came to class. The bus runs 30-60 minutes late every single day, sometimes it doesn't even make it but we still have to go to class without a notice . Basically , if you're considering this school for your child or yourself , keep all this in mind.....Think twice before you attend the "Unsinkable Albany State University" GO RAMS ! read more

This school is not student friendly. They do not have a process in replace that notifies the student in a timely fashion of deadlines or changes to their accounts. They go forward in removing students from classes before telling them that this is going to happen beforehand. Therefore, confusing the students and the parents. The student then has to make several frustrating trips to several different departments to obtain more information and to seek resolution read more

My daughter didn't even attend school there because the school itself did not have her financial aid completed but yet they sent us a bill saying that we have a balance of $454 and on the statement it shows where they subtracted federal pell grant which afterwards left the $454 balance. Let me find out they got my child pell grant and used it as though she is in school there this semester and I guarantee you they will have hell to pay!! She will not be attending this school in January either because they are very unorganized and give the wrong information. I now see why they are so adamant about wanting the parents to stay out of it and let the kids handle everything by themselves because they're trying to get over, and they know these kids are fresh out of high school and do not know any better. Parents I encourage you to let your kids learn to do their own problem solving but with your guidance because ASU is not right!! read more

Since the merge with Darton, things are really bad for the students. Darton was the college in town for a different race of students and ASU was the historically black college. Well since they have merged and became one, all of the Darton professors are forced to teach at a historically black college and they hate it. As a result, they make the work extremely difficult, they grade hard (trying to get you to quit school), they are taking their frustration out on the students instead of getting a new job or dealing with it. Its going to be hard for students to graduate with Darton professors extracting revenge on them. At the rate things are going, the graduation rate will drop as well as enrollment amongst the African American students. They are making the work to hard! They are requiring to much from the students. On top of all this, financial aid disbursements are disbursed about a month after classes start maybe later. The financial aid office is unorganized and they will mess up your paperwork. They evict students by forcing them to leave after financial aid mess up their paperwork and have the students thinking everything is all good. read more
