I loved the historic downtown center because it had everything I like about a "downtown" center, (nice restaurants, performing arts center, a great bakery, furniture stores and a library all within walking distance). You can actually park your car in one spot and start exploring. The merchants and residents were very nice and always had time for conversation. It was just a very nice experience. We only had one bad experience, (the bakery being closed on the weekend), while visiting. You are officially being put on notice that you to get in by Friday so that you can get to Milady's bakery before you miss out. Although we were there on Friday, we had no idea that we would not have an opportunity to visit on Saturday as well. The mayor definitely needs to intervene. The most interesting character was the police officer who reminded me of the Terminator Cyborg that would morph into metal, (arms in position, walk and scan). Everyone in town has to know this guy because he is unmistakable, (fair complexion, light red hair). He was on duty at the Black in Arts Festival but he was policing like he was responding to a bomb threat. I bet he walked all twenty-eight acres. This guy was on the J-O-B and he was not playing! The city of Tifton is in good hands! Greatest experience was attending a talent show that was so positive and uplifting and should really make Tifton feel proud of the youth that performed. It was a great family event that just made you feel all warm inside. As you know, I am all about drinkable water and the restaurants in this town all had great drinkable water that was perfect for a warm day. Things I learned about dining out: Shredded cheese is code for Cheddar cheese and American cheese is standard. You must order all meals light on the cheese and oil/fat otherwise you will definitely have a problem. Oh yeah, I already have my itinerary planned for my next visit. Particularly at Harvest Moon/ back then it was downtown in an old department store. Amazing food and bands and youthful antics! It's very, very different from what it once was. Back then. Many years have pasted since the restaurant moved closer to Whispering Pines and the Westover-ish area. The food is good. Pizza, calzones, salads, and assorted appetizers. The draft and bottle/can beer selection is appropriate for Albany. Or what you would except. Our waitress was very efficient, engaging, kind, and friendly. I appreciate her excellent customer service. Harvest Moon is obviously a place to be in Albany. The options are limited . I no longer live here, but it's easy to see that it is so much a local bar scene where everyone knows everyone. Edit: I don't understand not having an updated draft, bottle, canned beer list along with the food menu. Not asking for updates every day but it's nice to know what is and isn't available. Or to have only your server's memory to provide any information.

It is beautifully decorated and just a lovely place to stay in the heart of history. I don't know that I really appreciated the depth of Jimmy Carter's contributions to this world before visiting. He is a special human being - and my visit here was very enlightening. What a lovely place to visit! Absolutely worth the trip!
