I am always drawn into fabric stores while on a quest to secure fabric for my supremely artistic twin sister. I am not a quilter/crafter/sewer by any means. My twin sister has not met a fabric store she hasn't fallen in love with. So, for her, I went to the shop with no intention of purchasing material. I sent her photos of material. Next thing you know....one hour later... three large bags of material and $200 later, I escaped. Needless to say, my twin was pleased. Her particular favorites included the fabric with sewing cats and the Wisconsin-outdoor-printed fabrics. The Sewing Basket seems to be a community favorite- a gathering spot and a place that offers classes. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.

Then yesterday, I was looking through my Visa account to make sure there were no odd charges. Whadya know, there's a mystery $28 charge from Nancy's Notions. That was odd, since what I had ordered was $3.99; that charge also appeared on my account. Later in the day, I got a shipping confirmation from them, for something I didn't order, and probably never would have ordered. I called their customer service line this morning. They say they don't keep credit card information for security reasons, so this couldn't have happened. The only thing I can do is refuse the package, and they will eventually credit my account. They did say that they show that the order was placed over the phone; I'm guessing that someone else's order was charged and sent to me. Bottom line - don't ever order anything over the phone. They've really gone downhill over the past few months. If I could find everything I buy from them somewhere else, I would go there.

I have purchased my Serger and one of my favorite machines from them and the service is top notch. I know they have been in transition since the sad passing of Nancy which may explain some of the bad reviews. I only had one bad experience and it was a serger class that I took. The instructor was not someone from the store but the company. I thought there were too many people in the class and the instructor was not prepared enough. Each time I was very pleased with their repair services, as well as their willingness to help fix my machines, which is something you don't find in today's throw-away society. They are a family owned business, and treat you as family. They also sell huge computerized sewing machines and vacuums, but don't be intimidated that they can't help you and your small machine out, they provide a great service at very reasonable prices. They are located in a small strip mall next to the Wine Cellar in West De Pere. I have referred multiple friends to their shop, and all have been pleased with their services.

They charged us $162 for tuxes. The best man went to pick up the tux and charged him an extra $31 and told him he was wrong and he just put a down payment down. 3. The father of the groom went to get fitted and they hadn't saved what kind of suit vest we picked out. 4. One groomsmen went to call in his measurement and the lady told him he must go online and send in his measurements since he lived out of state. He lives in Wisconsin. 5. The fittings were wrong. They told the best man there was nothing they could do if it didn't fit. My mother in law had to call the manager and told her that the best man just misunderstood. 6. They sent the wrong ties. For my wedding we had plum ties for our wedding that the colors were maroon and navy. Please save yourself the stress and go anywhere but here.
