On a sunny day, I bring my DELE books, order a glass of Albariño, and people-watch from the sidewalk. I'm also a firm believer in the Spanish bar value proposition. When I order a glass of wine, I love to receive some olives or a montadito to snack on. At Planeta, I am presented with a bowl of olives, a full plate of montaditos, and half a tortilla espanola. (Granted, the tortilla is not the best [1], but it's the thought that counts!) For 2.30 euro, I am satiated, relaxed, and leave the bar much better prepared for my exam. There's one waiter in particular who speaks a little bit of English. He speaks to me in English, I speak to him in Spanish. The fort that crowns the top of O Castro commands a beautifull almost ariel view of Vigo Bay, the city and the rande Straits. There are various monuments dedicated to Curros Enriquez and others including the stonemasons. There were tunnels and passageways found that connected the castle and the city. There is also a magnificent botanical garden with a water feature and fountains and also a wide variety of both native and foreign species of pines, cedars and camellias.

Sésamo is open all day and offers different cuisines, and does a surprisingly good job. Indian, Mexican, Mediterranean, etc. Also they have great salads and vegetables which is rare or nonexistent in vigo. They also have amazing juices / smoothies similar to health food spots back home. If you're looking for somewhere healthy (ie not pulpo or jamón and potatoes) and OPEN when you want it to be, this is the spot :) thanks y'all
