Marcos & Bruno Tile Replacement - Kitchen backsplash

Marcos & Bruno Tile Replacement

Bedford Stuyvesant

I highly recommend Marcos & Bruno to anyone looking to install kitchen backsplash or other tile…read morejob. I hired them for my kitchen backsplash and am thoroughly impressed with the results. From the first reachout, communication with Jessica at the front desk about a site visit was prompt and reliable. Note that there is a non-refundable $25 quote fee. Marcos stopped by and efficiently and professionally laid out the scope of work. I received the quote a few days later, which I felt was relatively reasonable. Bruno's communication about the job was always clear and prompt. Marcos and his colleague worked so professionally, diligently, and thoroughly, while completing the job quicker than anticipated. Their attention to detail and cleanliness made it a hassle-free experience for me. They were always on time and communicative. Marcos even re-caulked and sealed my kitchen countertops, going above and beyond. I never felt pushed or scammed into paying extra and it's clear M&B are a business of integrity and professionalism.

As a fellow business owner, I would never speak to a potential customer the way they did me, especially in this economy. They then proceeded to call me at ungodly hours of the night to get me to take this down (3 times at 2.40am).

Grout Pros NYC - The completed job with finishing touches

Grout Pros NYC

If you are lucky enough to have landed on Grout Pros' NYC Google listing, please do yourself an…read moreimmediate favor: stop stressing, end the analysis paralysis, step out of the panic loop and contact Elizabeth and Daniel ASAP. The universe is positively intervening in a way you cannot even fathom right now. I say this because I was YOU less than 48 hours ago. My nightmare started when I hired a "contractor" through TaskRabbit with 600+ five-star reviews to fix and paint a peeling bathroom window along with some regrout touch-ups. Straightforward, right? Well, on Day 2 at 6pm on a Thursday, less than 72 hours before my guest's early Sunday arrival, he scurried away mid-job and left the window's wood and metal frame in worse condition than when he started. He used a chemical paint remover that compromised the surface, then left when things got complicated. No referral. Just a "sorry" and out the door. Now I had less time, a worse problem, and no clear path forward. Enter NYC Grout Pros. Elizabeth initially told me they were booked until Monday, which I understood, but once she heard my timeline, she led with empathy and assured me she and Daniel would make Friday work. It felt like a miracle! I went to sleep knowing I wasn't alone. Friday, Daniel arrives around 2:30pm, and what struck me immediately was how supported he was by his team. One of his colleagues--on THEIR day off--came by just to deliver tools and materials he'd need. That level of coordination and sacrifice, especially under pressure, is rare. What Daniel walked into was no longer simple. The wood had been compromised, sanding was difficult, and the timeline ruled out conventional approaches. He assessed everything calmly and made a critical call--the current path wouldn't get this done in time. At 5pm on a Friday, without hesitation, he drove nearly two hours through West Village traffic to his shop in Westchester to custom cut wood for my window and source the right materials to actually solve the problem--not just patch it. He then drove back into Manhattan, arriving around 8:30pm, and worked until 11:30pm. And, true to his word--came back by 10am the next morning, on a Saturday--HIS day off--and a day where he had meaningful personal commitments, and still worked until everything was completed to the highest standard. The Result: the window was fully repaired, the grout issues were smoothed out, and the bathroom was spotless/usable. I was able to keep my promises to my guest because of Daniel. But what impressed me most is who Daniel is as a person. He is not only exceptional in his craft--he is an even more exceptional human being. I was under pressure. I had already lost time and money. I was dealing with someone else's poor judgment. And Daniel kept reassuring me: he was on my side, he wouldn't abandon the project, and he would get it done. Although I was a complete stranger--one of millions of people in NYC--he treated me like a longtime friend he was willing to move mountains for. And boy did he. He never made me feel like a burden or like he'd been stuck with a bad job. There was also a generosity of spirit that permeated his work. My partner had ?'s about installing new flushmounts, and Daniel took the time to coach him through an example so we'd feel confident doing it ourselves. One micro-moment spoke volumes. After hours of driving and working late, he still cleaned thoroughly--bathroom spotless, tools neatly placed. As we walked out, he noticed dust from his boots in the hallway and instinctively dropped down to clean it, saying he didn't want to leave the building that way. That level of care--at the very end of a long day--is not something you can fake. I also appreciated how highly he spoke of his team, especially Elizabeth. It's clear they are a close, experienced group that genuinely support one another--and it shows. What they did for me went far beyond fixing a window. Hearing "I got you" felt like 1000 pounds lifted off my shoulders--I've found my dream creative partners and I know I can trust them with any project moving forward! And so should you!

We had a minor miscommunication on color and they fixed it without issue. I learned they have long-standing, high-quality employees and were actually able to have the guy who worked on our bathrooms a couple years ago chime in on what he did when we had questions. Grout Pros are terrific.

We set up an appointment for early Monday morning and Niko was there promptly and even made arrangement to arrive earlier than we first agreed upon. Niko arrived on time, reviewed the current installation, provide a more than fair price for the job and once agreed upon, had the model water heater I requested with a service crew onsite within 30 minutes. The job was completed within a few hours and the water heater was fired up without issue. Their crew was professional and respectful and after only a few hours, we had a new water heater installed. They even corrected some faulty plumbing mistakes made by the last "plumber" that installed the prior water heater. Niko returned a bit later in the day to inspect the work done by his crew and to sign-off on the job. These guys are my new go-to plumbers for my house in Queens, NY. Prompt, courteous, a skilled, professional team and a great price. That is a combination that is hard to find these days.

The recommendations were looking good so I called Vuksani Service Group ! They offered a discount for a cash payment and to call Nico if there was any problem. I did call about the water temperature being too hot and he texted back promptly with a solution ! I'm very pleased and will be calling them again if needed !
