FIVE STARS ARE SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH - An Extraordinary Physical Therapist Who Never Gave Up on me. I…read morehave never felt more compelled to put into words what someone has meant to me than I do now. For the past four plus years, Yuriy has been an extraordinary part of my journey through three major surgeries, countless months of rehabilitation, setbacks, uncertainty, frustration, and, ultimately, an outcome I once wondered if I would ever achieve: I am walking independently again and getting my life back!!! My journey was anything but straightforward. My first surgery was unfortunately not successful, and took multiple consultations to finally understand something was seriously wrong. The problem was so complicated surgeon after surgeon essentially told me they would not attempt to correct it because of the potential damage to my body to fix it. During all the uncertainty, Yuriy was there and he never gave up. Yuriy brought an extraordinary combination of knowledge, experience, patience, kindness, professionalism, compassion, and hands-on care to every single session. He paid attention, listened and watched my progress--or, at times, my lack of progress--and he cared deeply about understanding why I wasn't getting better. There were certainly moments when Yuriy became frustrated but his frustration was never with me. It was with the fact he could see something wasn't right, and he couldn't figure out what was preventing me from progressing. He cared even when the answer wasn't immediately apparent. There were many times over those years I cried. Yuriy always managed to stay strong even when I was overwhelmed, discouraged, or simply exhausted from the long road. But there were also a few very special moments when I saw his own eyes had welled up with tears. Those moments have stayed with me because they showed me just how deeply he cared. He wasn't simply watching a patient struggle--he was emotionally invested in helping a person find her way back. Eventually, after seeing multiple highly regarded surgeons at top NY hospitals, I finally found a courageous surgeon at HSS willing to take on the enormous challenge of correcting what had gone wrong. I underwent additional major surgeries, each followed by many months of PT. And through all of it, Yuriy was there. He adjusted... adapted... encouraged and challenged me when I needed to be and celebrated the smallest victories along the way. One of the things which makes Yuriy even more remarkable to me is he is a husband and proud father of three, and yet somehow he still brings an extraordinary amount of energy, patience, and genuine compassion to his work every day. I have had the privilege of watching him interact with other patients and it is clear the care he has shown me is not something he reserves for one. He cares deeply about all his patients. I would be remiss if I didn't recognize the INCREDIBLE team surrounding Yuriy. From the welcoming front-desk reception, to the Physical Therapist Assistants, and students completing their internships, every single person I have encountered has contributed to making this a place where patients feel cared for, respected, encouraged, and genuinely welcomed. I have watched them work together as a true team, and their kindness, patience, professionalism, and willingness to help never went unnoticed by me. It takes a special kind of environment to make a patient feel comfortable through such a long and difficult recovery, and this entire staff has created exactly that. Yuriy may have been my primary physical therapist, but I am grateful to every member of this wonderful team who has been part of my journey. My surgeon will always be one of the heroes of my story but Yuriy is the first hero in this story-- His kind of dedication is incredibly rare. I cannot recommend Yuriy highly enough. I will forever be grateful he was the PT beside me on this journey

I had a great experience recovering from ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair at this clinic…read more Yuri and his team are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely care about their patients' progress. Think of the sort of service you'd like to get in a doctor's office. That is the care I've received after only a month or so as a patient of Dr. Voloshin. Dr. VOLOSHIN has got great energy and I became very confident he would help me with my podiatric needs. He did help. A couple of x-rays and a discussion of my symptoms led to an MRI (which they got quickly approved by my insurance). The MRI confirmed Dr. Voloshin's diagnosis. This place just works the way I want a place to work when my well-being is at stake.

He used my own insecurities about how my foot looked against me to convince me to get toe shortening's promising it'd make my toes better than they were before and that I would end up with hammertoes if he didn't shorten them. All while assuring me the procedure was completely routine and safe, that he's performed hundreds of them (horrifying to reflect on now). I feel dumb for ever believing him. By shortening the toes he created hammertoes and arthritis in the middle joints. My surgery was performed september 2020. He caused a large bone spur to form, increased the angle of my bunion, took too much bone so now I'd need a bone graft from my hip to fix, and further rotated the sesimoid so that only one knob hits the ground when I walk making it incredibly painful to walk barefoot or without cushioned insoles. Not to mention my previously functioning lesser toes being crippled by his "corrective" surgery. He is a bad bad person. Do not go to him. If you need bunion surgery I highly suggest going to an orthopedic foot surgeon as I'm discovering more and more that most podiatrist surgeons should not be trusted for any surgery. I wish I'd known more at the time and I wish there had been more on the internet warning me of the predatory nature of podiatry or else I'd still have my functioning toes and wouldn't need another surgery to correct the bunion he only made worse. He 100000% should not have a medical license at this point. Remember, health care in this country is a for-profit BUSINESS. Do not get conned by going to this person.

Ricky, the other therapist who also treats me, is the same, interested, concerned, knowledgeable & great. I've noticed the care they give and interest they take in every patient: young or old, decrepit, or recovering from surgery, or those with just routine injuries. Very disappointing experience after being a patient for over a year…read more I was a patient at JAG Physical Therapy on Ocean Avenue for over a year, so I had a lot of trust in this facility. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with both my wrist and back have completely changed my opinion. Wrist treatment -- weeks of unnecessary delays I went to JAG for wrist pain related to suspected carpal tunnel/tendinitis. My therapist was Harshada Agawane, OT. I was told that I should improve within about 6 weeks. After approximately 3 weeks of treatment, my therapist submitted a pre-authorization for additional care, which was denied. A second request was also denied. Because I was still in pain, I contacted my insurance. They told me that the therapist could submit documentation explaining why additional treatment was medically necessary or potentially do a peer-to-peer review. I called JAG and was told that a peer-to-peer was not possible because I had already been denied twice. I called my insurance again, and they told me that there was nothing indicating that my therapist could not do a peer-to-peer. While I was on the phone with my insurance, they contacted JAG directly. The same front desk employee, Dienaa, told my insurance that Harshada did not want to do the peer-to-peer because she did not believe it was medically necessary. That was extremely frustrating because I had spent weeks believing a peer-to-peer wasn't an option. If the therapist simply did not want to pursue it, I would have preferred to be told that directly. Then came the discharge issue. The next day, I requested to be discharged so I could continue treatment somewhere else. I was told they would let Harshada know. For the next two weeks, I called repeatedly trying to get discharged. I kept being told that Harshada would be notified. Eventually, my insurance became involved and mentioned filing a grievance. Then I was told that Harshada could not discharge me and that the last therapist who saw me had to do it. I had seen three different therapists, with Harshada being the one I had seen the most. If that was the procedure, why was I repeatedly told for two weeks that Harshada needed to handle my discharge? I then had to call another JAG location. We were left waiting on the phone, had to call back multiple times, and were sent back and forth for roughly an hour trying to figure out who was responsible. I was eventually told that I had supposedly been discharged a week earlier -- yet I had never received the discharge paperwork, and my new physical therapy clinic told me that they had not received it either. After finally reaching the clinical director, I received the discharge paperwork about an hour later. The result? I went approximately 5 weeks without wrist treatment. My wrist was still painful, I was still wearing my splint every day and at night, and instead of progressing with treatment, I was forced to start over somewhere else. I had originally been told I needed about 6 weeks of care. Now I'm behind in my recovery and it has also delayed my return to the gym. And this wasn't even my only disappointing experience at JAG. Back treatment -- 5.5 weeks with little improvement I was also receiving treatment at the Ocean Avenue location for my back from a therapist I had been seeing for about a year. After approximately 5.5 weeks without improvement, he told me that I had likely torn something if it hadn't gotten better. I went to an orthopedic doctor, who diagnosed it as a muscle spasm/trigger point. When I told my therapist what the orthopedic doctor said, he responded, "I told you it wasn't a tear." Later, when additional visits were denied, I was told, "There's nothing else I can do for you." I was especially disappointed because I had trusted this therapist for about a year. I then went to Peak Physical Therapy. On my very first visit, the therapist identified the muscle spasm/trigger point. After only about 3 weeks, it had already significantly improved and shrunk. That's extremely frustrating when I had spent 5.5 weeks at JAG without the same issue being identified. I also experienced situations where my therapist was on his phone during treatment, including while manually stretching my back. Overall: I no longer trust JAG with my care. What bothered me most wasn't simply that insurance denied additional visits. Insurance decisions happen. What bothered me was the communication, the conflicting information, the delays, and the difficulty getting discharged and obtaining my records so I could continue treatment elsewhere. I had been a patient for over a year. If this is how a long-term patient is treated when they're trying to continue medically necessary care, I would be very concerned about what happens to someone who doesn't have the time or ability to keep calling, involve their insurance, and chase multiple locations for answers. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and considering oth
